You're Strong But Now You're Mine-Chapter 138 - 137 I Also Want to Eliminate the Silver Blood Association
Chapter 138: Chapter 137 I Also Want to Eliminate the Silver Blood Association
Money wasn’t everything.
For ordinary people, money was just currency, used to buy the things needed for everyday life. But for rich people, money was a resource—a resource that was damn near all-powerful.
Le Yu had once played a military-strategy mobile game where each server was a map, every map had lots of cities, and players had to stockpile resources, build facilities, recruit soldiers, and snag those elusive SSR talents. Building, recruiting, training—these all took time, and players either waited it out, or paid money to rush that progress in a snap.
This pay-to-win grind wasn’t possible in real life—or at least, not completely.
But... maybe not impossible either.
When the Silver Blood Association decided to throw cash around, the entire Xuanzhu County sprang into action. Years of built-up materialism could certainly corrupt the mind, but sometimes, it could also fire people up like nothing else.
Le Yu arrived at the Half City patrol camp, an old factory converted into a base. Last time he’d passed by, this place was a mess of weeds—like something straight out of a haunted house event with wild monsters ready to jump out.
But in just a handful of days, it had turned into a mid-sized, heavily guarded military camp—barracks, storage, armory, main drill field, all accounted for. Gate guards stood tall and tough, and as Le Yu walked in, he saw a group of soldiers running laps on the field, moving in perfect formation, taking their drills damn seriously.
"Training at night too?" Le Yu asked.
The soldier walking in front answered respectfully, "Yes, Commander Jing, the three patrol teams are divided into a day team and a night team, day team trains and patrols by day, night team trains and patrols by night."
Clearly, the day team were the elite troops, the night team just cannon fodder... Le Yu could sniff out the logic here right away.
Not to mention, the factory zone really didn’t need patrols during the day, and there was no way anyone would attack it under broad daylight—workers were everywhere, anyone acting up was sure to get spotted and immediately tracked down.
More importantly, people are supposed to work in the day and rest at night. This wasn’t like Le Yu’s previous world, where you could say, "Sure, I stay up all night every day, but as long as I get eight hours, my doctor says I’m fine." Here in Huiyao, people could subconsciously absorb energy from sunlight thanks to their Spirit—training Combat Technique was itself about absorbing Light Energy.
Sure, you could use Light Energy from lamps, but artificial light wasn’t even close to sunlight. The gap was like the difference between humans and dogs. Following this training schedule, the day team would eventually stomp all over the night team in terms of personal power.
But that was exactly what the Silver Blood Association wanted—for them, setting up patrol squads and protecting Half City was just the cover. The real goal was to get their hands on a strong fighting force!
Because of this, the Silver Blood Association didn’t hesitate to spend big, hiring three former Heyang Army instructors at high salaries, recruiting a hundred and fifty physically fit youth with some Combat Technique foundation, and training them with even better conditions than the regular army. No wonder they were able to quickly build up a team with the makings of a crack force.
This was what pay-to-win looked like in real life—as long as you dumped enough resources in, you could push your plans forward just as fast!
And only the Silver Blood Association could pull this off. Money alone wasn’t enough—you’d just get scammed. Power could do it, but there was no need. Only a group like Silver Blood, wealthy as hell and suddenly hungry for power, could take it to this level.
Le Yu walked into the main three-story building, turned left to the captain’s lounge, and almost got choked out by the stench as he opened the door.
The ceiling’s warm yellow lamps were fogged with a hazy filter, the whole place thick with smoke. Rich kids in patrol uniforms sat around the sofas, some smoking, some drinking, some playing cards. Le Yu felt just like he was back in his college dorm—until he spotted one young master groping a woman in uniform right out in the open.
Le Yu shot a glance, thinking, "Impressive, not just COSPLAY but live-action, and all out in public."
Seeing everyone else’s glazed-over eyes, Le Yu had no doubt that if he came back here tomorrow night, he’d see scenes more wild than Xiangxue Sea’s underground clubs.
Le Yu pulled out his officer’s card and slid it into the black machine by the door.
’Beep, on-duty card.’
"You’re here, Young Master Jing," Ting Zhaozao said with a grin from the head seat. He was the only one in the room who actually wore his uniform properly. Flicking ash from his cigarette, he added, "Busy with work? Want a smoke? This is a custom one brought by Young Master Yuan, can’t get it anywhere. Only gift it to Governors and the like—us plebs rarely get to try it."
"No thanks, I don’t smoke." Le Yu casually grabbed a chair. He shot a look at Mi Die and Li Sang behind him—both of them headed out, closing the door to leave Le Yu and the other young master-soldiers alone. The bodyguards would wait outside.
That seductive moaning kept going, Tetris block noises thudded clear as day, and a faint musk of hormones hung thick in the air. Le Yu’s nerves frayed, a surge of restless fire rushing from below to his brain. Suddenly, he slammed his palm down on the table!
With a bang, the whole table shattered, ashtrays and other junk crashing and clattering to the floor. Shouts from outside: "What happened—"
"Nothing!"
Ting Zhaozao bent down, calmly picked up a still-intact ashtray, dusted it off, balanced it in his palm, and said with poise, "Don’t come in. No danger in here!"
The others finally snapped out of it, staring at Le Yu in shock. The couple stopped their business, the woman nervously shrinking away, the man looking peeved.
"Don’t pull that filthy shit in front of me."
As soon as he said it, Le Yu realized he’d just let Zhengwei take the wheel.
Zhengwei, thanks to the Qinyi Combat Technique, was used to suppressing all physical urges and had long reached the state of "seeing every beauty as nothing special"—could stay cool as ice no matter what eye candy he ran into.
But even a stoic master like Zhengwei couldn’t stare down the raw process of human procreation and stay unmoved—he’d never trained himself for that!
No wonder Le Yu got infected by Zhengwei’s will. "If I kept watching, kept listening, maybe I would have lost control and gone berserk, stopping those two idiots from going NSFW right in public."
"And if I couldn’t hold back, who knows what would happen—maybe I’d just storm up and yell ’Let that man go, let me do it instead,’ or maybe I’d just grab whoever’s closest—man or woman, makes no difference once someone loses their head to lust."
"But did I just smack the table and start barking orders like I was king of the world...? Too cocky, maybe...?"
Clap, clap.
Ting Zhaozao stubbed out his cigarette, clapped his hands twice. "Young Master Jing’s right, we’re supposed to be patrol captains now, gotta act like it. You wanna smoke, drink, play with women, go do it at home. You’re here, you do your shift."
"Can’t embarrass the Silver Blood Association..."
Smash!
A loud crack—Ting Zhaozao had thrown his ashtray hard to the floor!
"...by screwing up on our watch."
Ting Zhaozao lifted his head, looking around the room. "Everyone get it?"
"...Got it."
"Heard you, Young Master Ting." freeweɓnøvel~com
"Understood..."
Some of the young masters couldn’t take the embarrassment, stood up, and said, "I’m off—shift change’s up. Heading out."
"Me too..."
"Let’s just all go."
Everyone hustled out of the lounge, the couple included. As they passed Le Yu, the guy shot Le Yu a furious glare.
Le Yu glared straight back, sneered, and flashed a tiny hand sign—just thumb and forefinger, "Is that all you got?"
The guy turned beet red with anger. If his bodyguard hadn’t dragged him away, Le Yu figured the guy might’ve just straight-up dropped dead—heard that after exercise, a strong mental blow could easily trigger sudden cardiac death.
When the lounge finally cleared out, Ting Zhaozao stood up, kicked aside busted debris, and grinned, "Young Master Jing..."
"How could I dare call myself ’Young Master’ in front of you? Speak your mind, Master Ting,"
"Then I’ll just call you Zhengwei," Ting Zhaozao agreed easily. "Seriously, thanks for that. I’ve been wanting to straighten those guys out, but it’s tough to say straight out. If you hadn’t blown your top, I’d never get my opening."
Le Yu felt calm now. "Anyone normal would’ve chewed them out for that bullshit."
"But among us, ’normal’ isn’t exactly standard..."
Ting Zhaozao shook his head and sighed, then smiled again. "I’ll have someone clean up in a bit. Patrol’s yours tonight. If you need to crash, there’s space on the second floor."
"If you hadn’t been here tonight, who knows how long they’d keep acting like this. Either way, I owe you. Anything you need, just come find me."
Le Yu shrugged. "It was nothing."
Ting Zhaozao considered Le Yu, a little dazed. "Maybe I should’ve gotten to know you sooner."
"See you tomorrow."
Watching Ting Zhaozao leave the lounge, Le Yu couldn’t stand the smoky, funky stench anymore, so he headed out to find the restroom and freshen up.
But as he walked down the hallway, looking for the bathroom, he suddenly heard a mocking voice from the shadows nearby:
"I thought you were actually going to kill them all."
Le Yu startled and slid over two steps, eyes darting to the man half-hidden in the darkness.
Through the grid window, gentle moonlight spilled down, draping across a long-haired man in military uniform, sparkling as if dusted with crystals. He leaned against the corner wall, blood-red hair muted under the night.
Qin Le Yin!
Le Yu snapped into a defensive Biting Battle Technique stance. "Fancy running into you again, Young Master Qin."
"No need to be so formal, just call me Qin Le Yin, or Le Yin. Though, those close to me prefer another name that suits my look better—" Qin Le Yin tapped his head: "Hongle."
"And in return, I’ll call you Zhengwei. You got a nickname you prefer? I kinda like ’Wei Shao.’"
"Small talk gets you nowhere," Le Yu narrowed his eyes. "You don’t really think we’re family, do you? Your sister’s married to my brother, we’re on opposite sides. Not to mention you sicced Yitian Gang on me—on that alone, I’ve got reason to kill you right here."
"I don’t know why you told me that last time—maybe you wanted to brag, maybe you figured I couldn’t do anything about it, maybe you just wanted to test me... If that’s what you were hoping..."
"You’re gonna pay for it!"
Biting Battle Technique, Desolate Bite!
Even in just the moonlight, Le Yu’s hands slashed through the air as if he’d ’borrowed’ a pair of flawless crescent blades from the moon, spiraling toward Hongle like a storm!
At the same time, Le Yu gathered his strength and roared in a deep, earth-shaking voice:
"Aaah!"
Qinyi Battle Technique, Thunder Strike!
The sound rippled through the space like a stone dropped in water, energy leaping into Le Yu’s body, making the Desolate Bite explosion burn even brighter!
Intimidate the enemy, boost the attack!
"I haven’t just been typing away these last few days!"
He’d blended his own Zhengwei Qinyi Battle Technique, Lingxu Battle Technique, and his Intermediate Biting Battle Technique—still not at full mastery, but he could already mix some combo attacks!
’Thunder Strike’ (support/control) plus ’any attack move’—that combo worked great!
No matter what kind of Martial Artist, Le Yu felt sure this move would give him an edge!
But against Le Yu’s attack, Qin Le Yin didn’t flinch or dodge, just stood there, like the Thunder Strike really left him stunned.
He didn’t move until the light burst hit, then parted his lips:
"Heaven’s will."
The Desolate Bite explosion vanished in a flash, and the already-dark corridor turned utterly warped by the twisted light—nothing was visible.
Le Yu reacted fast. Right hand drew a circle, left hand became a palm, switching from attack to defense—
Biting Battle Technique, Universal Chant!
Biting Battle Technique, Yellow Lament!
"Hard to defy."
But the figure in the moonlight seemed to see through every move—he punched, Le Yu tried to use Universal Chant to twist his arm off, but the guy just caught his wrist!
Seeing it was bad, Le Yu set off the long-ready Yellow Lament explosion—but Qin Le Yin jabbed right at the heart of Le Yu’s left palm, snuffing out the light before it even burst!
They traded blows, and Le Yu used the chance to leap back and eye the man in red, who calmly smoothed the wrinkles from his uniform.
So strong!
And the techniques he used—they weren’t quite like the official Eighteen Techniques Le Yu knew, or rather, they were different in subtle ways. Qian Yuliu’s hidden-in-the-tone experience from Zhengwei was almost no use; Le Yu had to use his own body to learn Qin Le Yin’s flow, move by move!
"Wei Shao, we’re businessmen. Making money is how we survive. Fighting—well, that’s just what we do when there’s no other option."
Qin Le Yin stepped forward, looking totally unconcerned. "Actually, we’ve got a lot in common. We could even be friends."
But Le Yu knew: Qin Le Yin’s reflexes and reaction speed were monstrous. With his current level, it was impossible to take him out before he could react—even if Le Yu caught him on the toilet, Qin Le Yin would have pants up and be counterattacking in a flash.
So Le Yu kept his guard up, sneered, "Oh? What’s so similar about us? We both have younger brothers?"
"For example—"
Qin Le Yin pointed out the window.
Le Yu followed his gaze, saw the patrol camp’s iron gates open as a convoy of luxury cars drove out. The young masters had clearly left.
"I want to kill the Silver Blood Association bastards too."
