Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 914 - 911: The Old Master
Chapter 914: Chapter 911: The Old Master
Until evening, just as Yun Xiaotian was reluctantly about to leave, someone hurriedly walked in from outside the garden, coincidentally encountering Yun Xiaotian who was about to head out.
"Uncle Wei, why are you in such a rush today, do you have some matter with Brother Lin?" Yun Xiaotian asked puzzledly. In his eyes, the housekeeper was always calm and composed, rarely in a hurry. Hearing the voice, Lin Tian also came out.
Housekeeper Wei first nodded to Lin Tian in greeting, then said, "Young Master Yun, I not only need to see Mr. Lin but also you."
"Why? Could it be...?" Yun Xiaotian asked in surprise.
"You guessed it right; the Old Master has returned and he wishes to see Mr. Lin." Housekeeper Wei confirmed Yun Xiaotian’s guess.
Lin Tian interjected, "Uncle Wei, you’re saying the Old Master specifically mentioned seeing me upon his return?"
"Yes, I just came down from the Old Master. Is Mr. Lin free now?" Housekeeper Wei replied affirmatively.
"I have nothing on, Uncle Wei you can arrange as needed." Lin Tian said.
"Then what are we waiting for, Brother Lin, let’s go." Yun Xiaotian urged impatiently, pulling Lin Tian along as they headed out.
Housekeeper Wei fondly watched the childlike Yun Xiaotian, shaking his head helplessly. He also left Yunxiang Inn. An Xiaoru stayed in the house; with her status in the Yun Family, she couldn’t casually go to the highest residence of the Yun Family.
Upon reaching the gate leading to the mountaintop once again, this time with Old Master Yun’s instructions, no one stopped Lin Tian and Yun Xiaotian.
The scenery beyond the gate was not much different from other areas of the Yun Family, the only difference was it was much quieter. In the lower areas, servants could often be seen coming and going.
But here, no servants were visible, no people in sight, only the surrounding flowers and trees swaying gently with the wind, making a soft rustling sound, enhancing the tranquility.
Yet this tranquility was not a dead silence; instead, it was filled with vitality, with lush flowers and plants, fluttering butterflies, especially the spring water flowing between the rock garden and flower pools, crystal clear and lively.
In a spot where wind and energy converged, a wooden villa was built into the mountain; without guessing, Lin Tian knew this villa was the residence of Old Master Yun and the place of highest authority in the Yun Family.
In front of the villa stood a middle-aged man wearing a simple white shirt, collar open without a tie, appearing relaxed and casual. His facial lines were not as hard as a typical man’s, but rather softer, giving off an air of elegance, like a well-read scholar.
What caught Lin Tian’s attention the most was the man’s eyebrows and eyes, which closely resembled Yun Xiaotian’s. Someone appearing in this place, looking similar to Yun Xiaotian, Lin Tian had already guessed that the man should be the Family Head of the Yun Family, Yun Haoyu.
In the southern Li family and the northern Yun family, these two great families, Lin Tian naturally compared him with the Li Family’s Li Zhengyang and found that their temperaments were entirely different.
Li Zhengyang was domineering and sharp, deeply thoughtful, while Yun Haoyu was gentle and scholarly, more like a gentleman merchant. No wonder Yun Xiaotian was born so fair and delicate, clearly inheriting Yun Haoyu and Wang Wanxi’s grace and beauty.
With such parental genes, if they had a daughter, she would certainly be a stunning beauty, but alas Yun Xiaotian wasn’t a girl, his natural beauty somewhat wasted.
Damn, why am I thinking about all this, whether Yun Xiaotian is male or female is none of my business. Lin Tian realized he was overthinking, quickly halting these increasingly ridiculous thoughts.
Lin Tian shifted his gaze and focused on another person, an elder, but he was not standing, instead sitting in a wheelchair.
The elder wore a dark blue traditional garment, his hair was gray and white but meticulously groomed, his eyes as calm as an ancient pool, unfazed by life’s trials and nothing seemed to disturb his peace of mind.
However, when the elder saw Lin Tian and Yun Xiaotian coming up the mountain path, the tranquility in his eyes vanished, revealing a genuine smile, kind and affectionate, like ripples spreading on an ancient pond.
"Grandpa..." Yun Xiaotian shouted from afar upon seeing the two at the door, running up like a child.
Grandpa? So this elder was the true head of the Yun Family, Mr. Yun. Lin Tian had imagined what Old Master Yun would be like: stern? rigid? or cold? or wise?
As the actual controller of the Yun Family, these words could indeed apply to him. But what Lin Tian didn’t expect was that Old Master Yun was such a kind and gentle person, like the grandfather next door.
If this elder wasn’t in such a position in the Yun Family, Lin Tian might not have recognized him if they met on the street, even seeing his own grandfather’s shadow reflected in the Old Master. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
"Grandpa, I haven’t seen you in days, are you well?" Yun Xiaotian crouched in front of the wheelchair, cheerfully asked, like a child being pampered.
Mr. Yun reached out and petted Yun Xiaotian’s head, laughed and said, "Grandpa’s health is the same as always, nothing good or bad. But you, having traveled alone, have you encountered anything interesting?"
"Of course! But that’s not important. What’s important is that I’ve made a friend, a true friend." Yun Xiaotian said happily, then beckoned Lin Tian over, "Brother Lin, come quickly, this is the grandfather I told you about."
"Xiao Tian, you always talk about grandpa and friends, are you making me, your father, invisible?" Yun Haoyu said with a deliberately stern face, but his eyes betrayed his amusement, clearly thrilled about his son’s friendship.
"Xiao Yu, at your age, are you really getting jealous over two kids?" Mr. Yun scolded his son.
But calling him Xiao Yu like this left Lin Tian speechless. For the head of the Yun Family to be called Xiao Yu, who else but Mr. Yun would dare?
Being "scolded" by his father, Yun Haoyu could only smile helplessly. It’s true what they say about the bond skipping generations, and apparently, this holds even in affluent families.
"Mr. Yun, I am Lin Tian. Pleased to meet the Old Master." Lin Tian approached and greeted politely.
Mr. Yun looked Lin Tian up and down, nodded as he observed, and finally chuckled, "Handsome and elegant indeed, quite reminiscent of my younger self."
Lin Tian was taken aback for a moment. Was the Old Master indirectly saying that he was once a charming and handsome young man too? That shouldn’t be a common thought for someone who has experienced over half a century and presumably sees through these things.
After thinking it over, Lin Tian realized the Old Master’s words had deep meaning. Listening from another angle, the underlying message was: You look like I did when I was young, you have the Yun Family’s genes.
It seems the Old Master’s wish for a grandson is not recent; an elder’s thoughts are understandable. Lin Tian didn’t bring this up, instead smiling, "Looks and stature, inherited from my parents, regardless of handsomeness, I’m grateful to them."
