Rin, a young angel (presumed female, but angels don’t have clear genders) falls in love with a young human girl, Miku. However, their love is considered taboo, and so, Rin makes a deal with the devil to be reborn as the human boy, Len, in order to be with Miku. However, their happiness together is short-lived, and even that soon ends in tragedy.

A loner boy, who’s always loved escaping into his RPG world, suddenly finds himself living as one of his game characters. But instead of becoming his favored fighter, he’s in the body of his second avatar—a support mage! Though he’s used to playing both roles, being the mage in real life is a whole new challenge. Now he must rely on his knowledge and skills to navigate this unfamiliar reality and survive as the game's “support.”

Intellectual Villages are old fashioned rural villages recreated with cutting edge technology. Those villages attract the Japanese monsters known as Youkai.

The high school boy Jinnai Shinobu lives in one of those villages and has a Zashiki Warashi living in his house. He tends to run across Youkai with unnerving frequency and this often leads to trouble for him.
