10,000x Reward Multiplier: Hell-level Kingdom Building-Chapter 21: [0] The Questions
The liquid began to move as though it were alive, and it slowly began to converge on a single point not too far away from the shivering women.
Spotting this, Floki’s selfless persona came alive, and with no care for his own safety, he immediately began to sprint towards them.
"Get away..."
He barked as he ran closer to the women, who were so terrified that thinking for themselves had become an arduous task.
Fortunately, the other obese goblin had not moved, as it simply stood and watched for unknown reasons, likely believing his colleague would take care of the mess without any trouble.
Also, the liquid had not finished converging yet, thus, there was still enough time for him to act.
"Please move away..."
He said to them, forcing his voice to be as gentle as he could muster in the current predicament.
He kept his hands to himself, not even attempting to touch them, as given their current naked state and hypersensitivity from the activities with the deceased goblin champions, such an action would only do more harm than good.
The women came to their senses as his loud voice finally broke through their fear and echoed in their ears.
They quickly stood up and began to limp away from the spot where the process was still taking place.
Floki escorted them from behind, deliberately avoiding looking at their injured, naked bodies, which were stained with blood and another whitish liquid.
Once they were a safe distance away, Floki ran back and attempted to stab the green puddle, wanting to see what would happen.
[ You cannot hurt this opponent in its current state. ]
"In other words, I can’t cheat by killing it during transformation. Damn it."
Floki cursed and created distance as fast as he could, not wasting a single moment.
While running back to a strategic new location, he sneaked a peek at the black-attired figure, and to his greatest surprise, the man was lazily picking his nose, not paying attention to anyone at all.
"What the heck is the deal with this guy?" 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Floki complained under his breath.
While he wanted to take care of the boss because of his quest, it would have been far less stressful if this guy would at least pay attention to what was happening around him.
His actions, his words, and the strange familiarity that seemed to exist between the two of them earlier made Floki wonder who he really was.
Sadly, he could not access any of this world’s original Floki’s memories that involved him.
Which left him with nothing but presumptions and unanswered questions.
Also, since he entered this godforsaken hellhole of a goblin den, he had never gotten even the slightest opportunity to relax and properly think for himself.
The converging process, or more precisely, the transformation of the previously obese goblin king, had finally been completed.
On the spot where the puddle of liquid once stayed, there now stood an 8-foot-tall hobgoblin.
It was ugly, ten times uglier than the lesser goblins and goblin champions Floki had fought before. Its face had a rough, wrinkled green complexion. It had long, leaf-shaped ears, which did not exist in the others, and on its head was dirty brown hair, which the others did not possess. The others were bald.
Its mouth was wide, revealing a set of sharp yellow fangs, ready to tear through the flesh of its opponent at any moment.
At this moment, its muscular body, though leaner than the champions, was adorned with rusty steel armor that covered major parts of its body, such as its chest, legs, and hands.
GROWL!
It completed its transformation with a growl that sent chills across the hall, making everyone shiver, of course, except the black-attired figure, who was still picking his nose without any concern.
[ Your opponent ’Perverted goblin king 1’ has used special ability ’Feral Transformation’ and transformed into a ’Hobgoblin’ All attributes of your opponent have been doubled. Tread cautiously. ]
’I can already see it...’
Floki grunted inwardly. He had somewhat gotten used to his system only sharing bad news and warnings instead of the good news that he actually needed.
Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do in this situation but fight.
But strangely enough, even if he had attacked the hobgoblin during its transformation, it did not seem to care about his presence in the slightest, as it simply ignored him and began charging towards the black-attired figure.
GROWL!
Its towering figure charged forward with rage, its cries tearing through the hall as it moved with frightening speed.
While closing the distance with his opponent, it swung its hands, and a massive fireball rolled out and shot towards him with destructive force.
"It can use magic... without chanting or hand signals also."
Floki realized that he would have been dead by now if the hobgoblin had been targeting him instead.
He shivered slightly at the thought of having to face a single opponent who could pull off such attacks while also excelling in close-range combat.
BOOM!
The massive fireball sped through the air and clashed against the walls of the cave, leaving behind a charred spot along with a visible dent.
Still standing on the same spot and picking his nose was the black-attired figure. Presumably, he had dodged the attack without even taking a single step.
’Badass... but heck, he is still not paying attention.’
’Is this how all the strong people in this world behave?’ he could not help but wonder.
Nevertheless, the hobgoblin did not stop charging despite the failed attack.
Its champions, or more precisely, its performers, had been killed, and it could not hide its anger.
GROWL!
Once it closed the distance with him, a wispy gauntlet of flames appeared over its fist as it leapt into the air and struck down with intense force.
The black-attired man finally moved, much to Floki’s and the women’s relief. The longsword in his hands moved swiftly and gracefully.
The growls of the goblin halted midair and turned into a loud cry of anguish as it landed heavily on the ground, now missing two of its hands. Its bloodcurdling cries echoed across the entire place.
Floki was confused as to why this strange man did not kill the hobgoblin when he clearly had the chance to do so just now. Could he be one of those crazy sadists?
Nonetheless, before he could begin forming more assumptions about this person, the man signaled for him to come closer with his hand.
Floki hesitated for a brief moment, confused, but he went closer anyway. After all, if this man truly intended to kill him, he would have already done so.
"I am bored of killing. So you take it, it will help you anyway."
He said calmly.
Floki turned to look at the hobgoblin, which was crying helplessly while shooting a hateful glare at the two of them, and then turned back to look at the black-attired man.
The curiosity he had been holding back, along with all the confusion in his mind, surged forward at once, and he could not stop himself from asking.
"Why are you helping me? Who are you?" He asked.
The black-attired man looked at him with a hint of uncertainty.
"You really can’t recall who I am?"
