100 Days to Seduce the Devil-Chapter 933: Confession
Day Ninety-Nine…
Hanabi stood in silence as she watched Mr. Hiroshi torture Alexander. With every lash of the leather whip, her heart clenched inside her chest.
'What is the meaning of this?' Hanabi asked herself as she covered her mouth with her palm.
She had the urge to intervene, but her body became frozen. After all, she had no right to stop Mr. Hiroshi from punishing Alexander.
"Hanabi," Jane's voice snapped Hanabi from her deep thoughts.
Jane approached her from behind, tapping her shoulder.
"Alexander volunteered to receive this punishment in exchange for Arthur Wayne's freedom," she explained.
Jane could tell that Hanabi wanted to seek an answer, so she told her what happened during her negotiation with Alexander. Hanabi could only listen to her silently, her emotions in turmoil.
"Alexander didn't want to cut ties with us… He proposed this himself. He didn't want to break our alliance and..." Jane deliberately paused as she watched Hanabi's reactions.
Hanabi failed to conceal the worry and concern in her eyes. She could no longer watch Alexander's punishment.
Then Jane continued, "Alexander is doing this for you. He didn't want you to blame yourself for everything. He wanted to fix the conflict between our organizations by sacrificing himself."
Hanabi was at a loss for words. She just clenched her fists while lowering her gaze.
Jane sighed deeply. She began consoling Hanabi.
"Hanabi, don't be so hard on yourself. No one is blaming you. My father might be upset, but he will be fine after this… so don't worry too much. Let's go upstairs and wait. You should rest. Alexander told me you've been shot."
Hanabi felt like crying again. She just hugged Jane, seeking comfort from her arms.
It did not take long before Jane's phone rang. It was a call from Nathan. Still hugging Hanabi, Jane picked up her phone and answered the call.
"Hello, Nate, I'm still in my father's villa. Is there something wrong?" She asked curiously.
"Oh, nothing is wrong. It's just that I'm missing you already. What time are you going back here? Everything is set." Nathan said affectionately.
Jane's eyes sparkled upon hearing that. She just found a reason to interrupt her father.
"Alright. I'll be going home soon. I'll bring my father with me. Thanks, Nate. See you soon. Mwuah." Jane blew him a kiss before hanging up.
"Hanabi, trust me. I'll take care of this," she reassured her. "Go and take a rest first."
Hanabi just nodded, following Jane's instructions. As she left, Jane approached her father, calling his attention.
"Pa, let's go home. Everyone is waiting for us. My grandpa and my mom's family are already there. We still have a family gathering today."
Hearing her words, Mr. Hiroshi finally stopped hitting Alexander. The family gathering and celebration mattered to him the most.
"Okay, my daughter. I understand. Let's go home."
Mr. Hiroshi just turned around, leaving Alexander behind. He was still locked in the prison cell, wounded and bleeding.
Jane gave Alexander a meaningful look for one last time before leaving the underground basement. Alexander fell unconscious right away.
He didn't know how long he had been unconscious. But he woke up at the feel of warmth, gently touching his face.
He opened his eyes only to see the face of the woman he was dying to see– it's Hanabi. She was cleaning his wounds using a towel.
With his remaining strength, Alexander reached out, capturing her wrist.
"What are you doing here?" He asked her in his weak voice.
Complicated emotions flashed through her eyes before responding to his question.
"Taking care of you… Your grandpa entrusted you to me…"
Hanabi quickly looked away, but she continued wiping the blood off his body. Alexander was lying on the cold floor while his head rested on Hanabi's lap.
A faint smile could be seen on Alexander's face as he gazed at Hanabi intently. He was touched by her actions.
"Are you that worried about me?" He asked her teasingly.
Hanabi's face contorted upon seeing his grin. "You are heavily wounded, yet you still have the energy to utter some jokes."
Alexander let out a soft chuckle. Ignoring the pain, he was indeed enjoying this moment because Hanabi was with him. She was also tending his wounds.
Alexander tried to get up, but Hanabi kept him still.
"You can turn around. Lie down on your stomach. I'll apply ointments to your wounds on your back."
Like an obedient puppy, Alexander shifted his position. Hanabi remained silent as she gently applied ointment to his wounds, while Alexander did his best to endure the sting.
"What are you thinking right now?" Alexander broke the silence.
"Nothing," Hanabi responded shortly.
There was a moment of awkward silence once again. Hanabi didn't know what to say to Alexander. She didn't even expect that Alexander wouldn't get mad at her after what she had done to his grandfather.
"Why did you choose to suffer like this? I thought Sis Jane only made a demand for you to release me, in exchange for your grandfather's freedom." Hanabi could no longer hold her curiosity, so she confronted Alexander.
'What was his reason for doing this? Was it really because of me? Why?'
"Because she asked me not to see you ever again after our deal. I can't do that. I want to get closer to you. I don't want to stay away from you. Hanabi… I think I have fallen for you. I like you," he replied directly to the point. No more restrictions. No more denials. He just wanted to be honest with her.
Meanwhile, after hearing his words, Hanabi unintentionally pressed her fingers hard on his wounds, making him gasp and groan in pain.
"Aww! Please be gentle! You are making me suffer further," Alexander complained.
Hanabi quickly retreated her hands from him and apologized. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you… It's just that…"
She didn't manage to finish her words. She was still shocked by Alexander's sudden confession.
Without further ado, Hanabi suddenly stood up, distancing herself from him. She wasn't ready for this kind of confrontation. She didn't know how she would react.
'He is crazy! He is spouting nonsense. Don't believe him.'
She planned to leave and run away from him. However, Alexander quickly moved, capturing her hand. He wouldn't allow her to escape.
"Don't leave. I'm not yet done talking to you… Hanabi. You have to listen to me."
Hanabi looked at him with disbelief while shaking her head. "I think you are just tired after getting beaten up by our clan leader. Just rest here. I have to go–"
Alexander didn't let her complete her sentence as he immediately pulled her. Placing his hand at the back of her head, he leaned down, pressing his lips over hers as he kissed her.
'You don't believe my words… so let me show you through my actions.' He thought.
Alexander held her in place as his mouth started to devour her lips. Hanabi was too shocked to push him away. Her body froze on the spot, feeling the ravaging kiss he was giving her.
It seemed that Alexander was pouring his heart out through this passionate kiss, letting her know how much he cared for her. His feelings for her were genuine affection. He had fallen for her for real!
