100\% Drop Rate: I Pick Up Attributes to Become Invincible!-Chapter 33: Creatures of The Spirit Continent
"Hey, handsome!"
The moment Jennifer spoke, Sunless felt an intense glare coming from the side.
Forcing a smile, he glanced at Sonia before opening his door and stepping out.
Sonia and Jane stepped out of the vehicle as well.
Taking the lollipop from her mouth in a seductive gesture, Jennifer glanced at Sunless curiously.
"To what do I owe the pleasure of meeting you?"
Sunless took a deep breath, then said after some thought, "We came for the exploration of the Spirit Continent. You needed my help previously, remember?"
"I told you I was going to send you an invitation when it’s time." Jennifer said, then looked at Sunless curiously. "Were you that eager to see me?"
"Hmph!" A cold snort resounded as Sonia glared intently at Jennifer.
"We’re here for the Spirit Continent and nothing else. If you can’t be helpful, then forget about it."
"Huh?" Jennifer raised a brow, then narrowed her eyes slightly, wondering why Sonia was looking so offended.
Then she glanced between Sonia and Sunless, and glanced between them again.
"Oh... I see," she chuckled, then an expression of mischief appeared on her face.
"Although it was meant to be situated a month ago, we can shift everything forward."
"Good." Sonia replied coldly.
"Would you love to help me out with something, handsome?" Jennifer glanced at Sunless, then winked.
A dumbfounded expression appeared on Sonia’s face.
"You—" before she could say anything more, Jennifer had taken out her phone and already begun making some calls.
Sunless also felt a headache incoming.
It seemed the journey wouldn’t be as peaceful as he thought.
Jane also seemed to have similar thoughts as she stuck her tongue out at her brother’s predicament.
"I don’t like that woman one bit." Sonia folded her arms and said coldly, her eyes narrowing in Jennifer’s direction.
"I’ll try to stay away from her." Sunless replied smoothly.
"Can’t we find someone else to help out?"
"She’s the most suitable for now."
"Doesn’t cha—"
"Alright, lovelies. Let’s head toward the portal. I’ve informed the other members of the team and they’re already heading there." Jennifer’s voice cut through the couple’s whispers.
Sunless glanced at Sonia, and Sonia remained silent for a short while before shaking her head with a sigh.
Still, her face darkened, and her expression turned sour.
"Everyone get in." Jennifer stated, then turned to Sunless. "Can you drive?"
Her eyes briefly drifted to the car they arrived in and she felt that was a stupid question. Of course he could drive.
"Take the wheels." She tossed the key toward Sunless.
"Okay," he smoothly caught it.
Meanwhile, Jennifer walked to the other side of the car. Just as she was about to enter the seat next to the driver’s, a hand stopped her.
"I’ll stay in front."
Jennifer raised a brow and noticed it was Sonia.
"It’s my car." She narrowed her eyes, and a teasing smirk curled her lips.
"Either that or he’s not going."
Already seated at the back, Jane tried to control her expression at how the two women were acting out.
It was amusing seeing two ladies fighting over her brother.
Sunless, on the other hand, didn’t dare enter the car and decided to wait until they settled everything.
Sparks seemed to fly mid-air as both women locked gazes with each other.
"Fuck..." finally, Jennifer cursed aloud and entered the back seat.
A victorious smile appeared on Sonia’s face, washing away her previous gloom as she entered the car.
Sunless finally entered as well, then, glancing at the mirror, he said calmly, "Everyone should buckle up."
The moment his words fell, Sonia and Jane’s expressions took a drastic turn.
Buckle up? The last time Sunless had said that, they’d almost lost their lives, and the car wasn’t even as advanced as this one.
Jennifer was confused seeing the change in expression on the two ladies.
She frowned slightly but didn’t pay it any attention.
Staring closely at Sunless, she noticed a familiar sight.
"This grip..." she muttered, a faint memory flickering in her mind.
Sunless started the car, causing it to let out a thunderous rev.
Jane and Sonia’s minds were shaken as they braced themselves for what was to come.
"Use the map displayed there to go to the portal." Jennifer advised, leaning back slightly to position herself more comfortably.
Sunless glanced and noticed something similar to a Google map displayed, with a long red line signaling their destination.
"Alright." Sunless tapped a few buttons, then, before Jennifer could even figure out how he knew the perfect methods to drive the car, the vehicle blurred, drastically moving at an unprecedented speed.
"Roarrr." The car let out a hissing roar, leaving a cloud of sand in its wake.
Before long, it had vanished from the abandoned construction site and reached the main road.
"This speed... this method of driving, you are the Car Devil!" Jennifer finally exclaimed, recalling where she had seen the familiar stance before.
It was from the viral clip of Sunless moving his vehicle like a snake.
Jennifer’s heart raced in excitement and dread at the thought that Sunless was the Car Devil.
That could only mean...
Now she finally understood why the two ladies were being so cautious!
This car was more than three times faster than the previous taxi he’d used, and it was smoother as well.
Sunless overtook one car after another, his movements swift as a blur.
Ahead, there seemed to be a hold-up, with clusters of vehicles struggling to move and a massive trailer in front.
Jennifer noticed it... and so did the other girls.
"Slow down, Sunless!" Sonia’s face turned pale as she advised.
Only for Sunless to increase the speed once more. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"Oh God! We’re going to die!" Jennifer exclaimed in shock.
Jane had some measure of trust in her brother, but she also felt it was practically impossible to move past such a horde of vehicles.
"What is that? Why’s he speeding?"
"Madman! He’s courting his own death!" screams from nearby vehicles echoed in the air.
However, Sunless didn’t mind them in the slightest.
Just when he was about to crash into the first vehicle, he twisted the handle mid-air, while also shifting the gear and clicking a particular button to spring the car up by an inch.
Although all these individual gestures were nothing much on their own, when combined together, it caused the vehicle to move as though encountering an obstacle, soaring above the first car. Then it spun around and, just as it was about to land on the ground, Sunless used the same moves again to swiftly change direction.
"What the—?" the crowd of onlookers fell silent, and some had already taken their phones out to video the sight of the car weaving between vehicles.
A few remembered this familiar scene from online and couldn’t help but feel dumbfounded.
Still, even though he had passed the horde of cars, there was still a massive trailer in front!
Everyone watched with bated breath, wondering how Sunless would scale past the trailer.
There was no hint of fear on Sunless’ face, only a ruthless confidence in himself.
He moved toward the right side, then, springing upward, the car tilted to the side and latched onto a car akin to a cybertruck, bounced off it like a spring, twisted once more, and climbed above the truck.
The banging collision noise of metal echoed, and the next moment, the car screeched before falling down with a dull thud.
As though nothing had happened, the ride continued smoothly.
"This... what the hell just happened?" someone exclaimed aloud from the stunned crowd.
