A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 193: THE UNION

King Amidas would visit Celeste kingdom to attend his daughter’s union with alpha Logan and Bryden got his scout to figure out, which path he would take.

"Beta Bryden," king Amidas greeted him. This was not the first time he met with the beta, but of course, all of that happened in different setting. "What a pleasure to see you. May I know why I got the honor to be stopped by you in the middle of nowhere?"

Bryden was standing in front of the king’s entourage. Ten warriors in their beast form were behind him, which cautioned the king’s warriors. King Amidas himself was still inside his carriage.

"I came here with the offer from our alpha. Alpha Khaos."

"Are you going to say that lycan alpha?" King Amidas wanted to confirm the news and Bryden replied without missing a beat.

"Yes."

Shock flashed on king Amidas’s expression with the confirmation, but then it was gone very quickly. "I want to hear what is the offer."

With that, the king invited the beta to enter his carriage. It looked easy and it could be a trap, but Bryden went anyway. He didn’t have a choice. There was no way for him to go back.

Rose was gritting her teeth when she was wearing her beautiful dress. Today was her union with alpha Logan, but even now, she had not yet met with him. She avoided to see him, despite knowing that she would eventually see him.

"Stop frowning, sister." Nycta leaned over, whispering to her sister’s ear, just like a devil. "You will enjoy this union more than you thought."

Hearing that, Rose was seething. She glared at her reflection on the mirror and watch how Nycta chuckled with delight at her misery. She wouldn’t give her the satisfaction to see her lost her composure.

Right now, they were inside Rose’s bedroom. The preparation was very simple, since the union was rather small.

It could be said as a meeting between two kingdoms, where only the main family that would attend. There was no celebration, since this union was also a meeting between king Dacre and king Amidas to discuss about what they were going to do with the lycan.

It was a far cry happy occasion and the union was supposed to happen once in a lifetime. Rose was enraged because Nycta managed to pull this act against her.

"Smile, sister, or else other people might think you enter this union by force." Nycta patted her sister’s shoulder. She was showing now and she started wearing the dress that showed it off. She wanted people to know that she was pregnant, reminding them that she carried the heir to the throne.

"Thank you for your concern." Rose smiled back at Nycta through the reflection on the mirror. "I am just sad that I don’t get a celebration when alpha Khaos and luna Zuri will have a grand festivity for their union."

Rose shifted her body, so she could see her sister directly, her eyes pierced through her. Nycta might be a little bit bold recently because of her rage, but Rose was always the wicked one.

"Don’t you think it feels like a ’fuck you’ for king Dacre? Alpha Khaos didn’t seem to car with king Dacre’s warriors that will march toward his pack in a few weeks."

Rose emphasized the word ’fuck you’, as if she was cussing Nycta.

"As a queen, I will not let my king to be humiliated like that." Rose tilted her head. "If I were you, I will be ashamed to suggest this humble union, because it will disgrace the king."

Rose touched Nycta’s hand delicately, as she did with a child, because she was treating Nycta as one and this was infuriating.

"Oh, dear sister. You don’t know what to do, right? In your rage, you humiliated the king. Defame him. You really need to control your anger to be a good leader. But, it’s okay. You are so young. You have a lot of time to learn how things work."

Nycta pulled her hand, but Rose held it a little bit tighter, though her words was as sweet as always.

"Also, you really need to learn how to control your tantrum, because that’s not only put the king in disadvantage, but you will tarnish his name one day if you continued being like this. You can ruin his image in front of his people."

Nycta swatted Rose’s hand, she used her strength this time and raised her hand to slap her, but Rose saw it and grabbed her hand again.

"Be smart, sister, not everything is about you." Rose smirked.

What Rose said was right, especially the part where she mentioned that the festivity in Greywolf pack was a ’fuck you’ from Khaos.

Because that was not a simple festivity, but a union between Khaos and Zuri. Not only that, Khaos even raised the old dynasty’s flag. It was white wolf with black background, stitched with golden thread. This was the first time the lycan’s flag was raised again after three decades.

People had a mixed feeling about it, but most of them were thrilled. The flag looked majestic and the banners of the lycan’s symbol were hung over the fortress walls.

It was indeed a ’fuck you’ from Khaos.

The pack house was opened widely, all the people could come inside and met with their alpha and their new luna. Food was abundance and they could fill their stomach until they couldn’t move. Wine was endless.

It was so different from what they heard about the lycan dynasty, how the history pictured them as a tyrant.

People were happy, though they still looked cautious around Khaos, which was understandable and also Khaos didn’t want them to get too comfortable with him. It was good that they still feared him.

"Do you like it?" Khaos asked Zuri, who was sitting next to him, watched the performance.

"I love it," Zuri replied with a smile.
