Chapter 225: IF HER LIFE CAME TO END

Even when Zuri had natural killing instinct, the lycan was still the strongest shifter that had walked in this realm. There was something about them that demanded your fully respect and attention if they wanted to.

And right now, Khaos was so pissed to see his mate went out of the carriage and involved herself in a fight against the rebels. They were outnumbered, there was a high chance that she could get hurt.

Even now, Khaos could see scratches littered on her arms, which couldn’t heal. Her healing ability was as good as gone.

This was one of the side effects of the curses that was inflicted on her.

And yet, here she was putting her life in danger. She could get killed. The monster could have killed her and everything would be ruined...

Khaos couldn’t even think about the beauty blood right now.

However, when he saw her lowering her head in submission, he couldn’t stay mad at her. He realized this was how her father disciplined her in the past and when Khaos raised his hand, she flinched.

Subconsciously, Zuri thought he was going to hit her. No, she flinched because she thought Khaos had a needle with him. She was afraid of needle.

Zuri was not afraid of a confrontation, neither a fight nor pain, but she had a deep bad memories with needles that became part of her right now. She couldn’t help it.

The thought of needle would be resonated with pain and submission, because that was how she was raised by her father.

"Let’s go back." Khaos grabbed her hand and took them away from there. The monster was dead and Caiden was fine, he grimaced when he moved his body, but he followed behind Khaos and Zuri, back to their entourage.

Thankfully, there was not many warriors died during the battle. Forty seven warriors died and one magic user also lost his life, but aside from that, they were fine.

When Zuri, Khaos and Caiden returned, the warriors from Wolfdale kingdom just arrived, they were shocked to see the massacre there.

One of them, whom Khaos assumed was the leader of the warrior approached him, but he simply waved his hand.

"You can talk with my gamma."

Khaos then ushered Zuri to enter the carriage and close the door behind him. He would let Gayle to deal with the Wolfdale warriors, since he had another important thing to do.

Zuri’s wound was not deep, but sure enough it wouldn’t heal quickly, since her healing ability was rather messed up.

"You do realize that you are hardly able to heal, right?" Khaos lifted her hand and frowned at the scratches.

"I am sorry," Zuri said in small voice.

"You are also stink."

Zuri was not sure why Khaos even said anything like that when he was covered in dark green blood of that monster. If there was one of them who was stink, it would be him, but she decided not to say anything.

The image of Khaos when he just killed that monster and how he pierced through its body with ease, still etched in her mind. He was... rather scary and for a moment, Zuri was genuinely afraid of him.

There was a fleeting thought that he might hurt her when she didn’t listen to him.

Thankfully, all of that was only in her mind, because Khaos didn’t do such thing and Zuri felt very silly to even assume he would hurt her...

Yet, she was not stupid to forget that Khaos had hurt her in different way.

"I think you indeed have to bath me," Zuri teased him when he saw one of the scratches on her neck was still bleeding.

"Hm. I will not let you sleep inside the carriage if you this smelly."

"Hey!"

The entourage moved and now they were escorted by five hundred Wolfdale warriors and two hours later, they finally found a waterfall, where they could refill their water and Khaos took Zuri to a secluded area, mindlinked his warriors strictly to not even take a step closer to this spot.

"Take off your dress."

"Do you like seeing me naked?" Zuri teased him, as she took off her dress. Her body was no longer bones, she gained a little bit of weight, but it was not enough to say that she was in healthy condition, yet it was better than before. Her collarbones were still protruding and you could see her ribcages.

That was why, Khaos had been extra careful with her during sex, even though Zuri tended to be aggressive.

He could accidentally break her bone. He did once when she tested their limit and it took her a week to heal.

"Do you want me to help you to get undressed? Or do you want to stare at me from distance?" Zuri started walking toward the water, her black, long hair cascaded down behind her back. The tip of her hair rested on her bum.

"You are being bold, Zuri."

Zuri glanced over her shoulder and chuckled at him, as she went further to the deeper part and now the water had reached her breasts.

The water was rather warm and it felt so nice. Even when her skin left with scratches and they were a little bit sting when they touched the water, she didn’t mind it at all. She liked this pain, reminding her that she was still alive.

On the other hand, Khaos started to undress himself and then folded their attires neatly before he joined her into the water.

"You are always so neat." Zuri scrunched her nose playfully, she watched how Khaos chuckled and joined her.

But then she dipped down into the water, until she could hear nothing, not even the loud noise from the waterfall. Not even the noise in her head. It was so quiet.

She thought to herself of how peaceful it was to be here. She would love to have this peaceful moment if her life came to end.
