A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 262: IT WAS NOT ZURI
Chapter 262: IT WAS NOT ZURI
Gayle gritted his teeth. Zuri had occupied most of Khaos’s time and because of that, he didn’t think people were thrilled to be led by someone who was not in their right mind and was high most of the time.
It was still the point of contention among all the people within the rank, about the fact that Zuri was using drugs and it affected Khaos.
They didn’t like it. They thought this woman was not right for the lycan, but after they learned about what happened to Bryden and Ezra they shut their mouth up. They didn’t say a word about it.
Right now, Gayle was sure they followed Khaos, out of fear, not out of loyalty or respect toward the old dynasty.
There were so many things that changed after the completion of the beauty blood. Zuri felt off and Khaos was aloof.
"Why are you standing there like an idiot? What do you want to tell him? Quick, we need to have some alone time. Speak. What do you want to say to him?"
Gayle took a deep breath to calm his nerves, but it was a mistake since he would breathe the smoke deeply. He started to feel his head was light, therefore he needed to report it immediately to Chaos.
"Caidan has been asking for a meeting, Khaos. He has been wanting to see you in person." Gayle glanced at Zuri before he continued to speak. "Mabel also asked for a meeting with you. I think they wanted an explanation for what happened to Ezra."
Zuri waved her hand dismissively. "They knew what happened to Ezra and Bryden. Why they need to ask again? Don’t waste Khaos’s time. Khaos’s time, is mine to waste."
Zuri sat on Khaos’s lap and straddled him.
This sight made Gayle looked at the other way since it was too intimate for him. Gayle was right when he thought this woman was not Zuri because, usually, even though Zuri couldn’t care less to her surrounding, she didn’t show such a display of affection , especially when there was someone nearby with them.
Currently, they were inside the tent, they were only two days away from the Great Palace. The journey was a little bit slow, since Zuri would request to stop every now and then.
"And then. What else? What else do you want to talk about with him?" Zuri showed her disliked with the fact Gayle was still there.
Gayle had trained Zuri for quite a while, therefore he felt there was a connection with her, even though they were not always in good term, but at the very least, he knew her, yet he didn’t feel that connection with this Zuri at all.
He felt like he was talking and seeing someone else differently, someone with her face and her voice, but the truth was; this was a completely different person.
"What else do you want to talk about? If there is nothing else, you can leave, you waste our time."
Once again, Gayle took a deep breath, which made him cursed under his breath because he made another mistake.
He immediately shook his head, trying to focus on what he was going to say and then leave this tent since he couldn’t handle the sweetness in the air. He felt lightheaded, right now.
"Khaos, I think you need to talk with the other warrior. They have been on edge, since you have not yet talked with them about what happened. They felt disconnected from you."
"Why those warriors have so much demand?" Zuri sneered. She didn’t like it at all.
"They are not demanding Zuri," Gayle said. "They want the Alpha to talk to them and lead them."
Zuri raised her brows. "Do you think Khaos is not leading them right now?"
"You have been occupying his time a lot Zuri. It’s not really good, because the warrior will look at him differently."
"What do you mean with ’the warrior will look at him differently’? Are they going to rebel against Khaos?" Zuri turned her body around to look at Gayle. "Are they going to disobey his order again?" ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
"No, of course not. That’s not what I meant," Gayle quickly explained the situation, yet Zuri simply didn’t want to hear that.
"They are very demanding. I don’t like them. If they kept doing that, why don’t you just kill them all? They are not that important right?" Zuri turned her body and then look at Khaos. She asked for a validation and Khaos gave it to her.
"We will kill them all, if they are going to rebel." Khaos played with her hair. He didn’t even look at Gayle’s direction.
That statement made Gayle’s stomach churned with discomfort. Khaos was really giving everything to Zuri. He didn’t care of anything else, even if that was not right.
Probably right now Zuri was using Khaos’s guilt to make him agreed with all of her demand.
"And what else do you want to talk about? We don’t have time for you all day."
"That’s all. That’s all what I wanted to tell you." Gayle looked at Zuri grimly, but she looked away before she could notice that. And after that, Gayle immediately left the room. He didn’t want to breathe that sweetness anymore.
When he was outside, he stumbled because he was a little bit high. He then looked for Dezgar.
"I am not sure if this is the right thing, but sure enough, you have made a big mistake to give Khaos an idea about how to save Zuri," Gayle grumbled as he closed his eyes and shook his head to get rid of the dizziness.
The air felt refreshing, especially with a hint of rain. It started to rain again now.
Dezgar dismissed the magic user with him and then faced Gayle. He looked at him with pity in his eyes. He had been avoiding Khaos’s tent too, since he couldn’t handle the drug.
Above them, the sky looked gloomy, indicating it would rain again.
