Chapter 263: IT’S NOT MY BLOOD

Gayle was a little bit high right now, even though he only stayed inside the tent for half an hour. He couldn’t understand how Khaos managed to stay in such a place, breathing into the drug all day and all night, getting high together with Zuri.

But, even so, he didn’t show any sign that he was actually not in control of himself, even when he was actually high as well.

Gayle didn’t know whether he had to admire the lycan for that or what.

"Well, I have warned Khaos about it and he agreed to the consequences." Dezgar defended himself.

"I still think you are a jerk for the idea. You shouldn’t have suggested such thing."

"What? Are you upset with me because of that?" Dezgar scowled. "I tried to save myself, okay? The lycan will obviously chew me alive if I couldn’t come up with a solution to save Zuri."

Gayle growled at Dezgar. "I am not. But right now, Khaos is not himself. He looked like he will agree with everything that Zuri said."

Khaos was still trying to cope up with the fact that he almost lost Zuri. That fear was what led him to act like this and let her to do whatever.

"You are right, you can say that it’s Zuri, who has been taking the decision," Dezgar agreed with that.

"It shouldn’t be like this," Gayle muttered under his breath. Both of them walked away. They had not yet moved again, because Zuri didn’t feel like it, that was why they had built the tent, since afternoon.

"It doesn’t take a genius to tell that it was actually Zuri who has been ordering us all this time."

Gayle said nothing about that. Both of them knew it was right.

The magic user glanced at the gamma, who walked beside him. "I suggest to you, not to say anything about what you are thinking because in Khaos current state he may kill you simply because you have such a thought about his mate."

Khaos would always side with Zuri. His guilty conscience, the thought that he was the one who had put her into harm, would push Khaos to atone for his action by letting Zuri to do whatever.

"Yeah, I knew. You don’t need to worry about that. I can keep my mind, my mouth shut."

"Good." Dezgar gave him three red leaves. "Here, chew on this, you will feel better."

Gayle didn’t even think twice before he chewed on the leaves. It has spiciness but it helped him with the side effect of the drug, which was good since he didn’t have any plan to get high all the time.

This was the reason why he had limited his contact with Khaos because every time he had to see him, he had to deal with the drug as well.

"In this rate, I don’t think Khaos will attack Great Lunar kingdom," Dezgar suddenly said.

"Why do you think like that?"

"Isn’t this very obvious?" Dezgar raised his brows, stared at Gayle with critic.

"What do you mean?" Gayle must have smoked the drug so much to the point he couldn’t even think clearly. It would take a while before his mind became sharp again.

"You know that the drug came from the Great Lunar kingdom, right? It was brought by sir Bairone. If they play their card well, I don’t think Khaos will attack them as long as they provide the drug for Zuri."

After all, Zuri’s life depended on it.

It took a while for Gayle to comprehend what Dezgar was actually talking about, but once he did, there was this fear in his eyes.

Dezgar was right about that. Khaos didn’t have any plan to attack Great Lunar Kingdom, because only that place could provide Khaos with the drug that he needed for Zuri.

"He might have another plan to occupy the kingdom and control the drug distribution."

Dezgar shook his head. "No, I don’t think so."

"Why?" Gayle was trying to be positive here.

"Just like any other war, it will cause life, and there is no telling if Bairone has another plan for himself. He could die in the war, or he could leave this place and never return. Which means, the drug distribution would be cut off and Khaos wouldn’t get the drug that he needed for Zuri, this will not be good news for the other people."

"I know it has been bad news all this time." Gayle sighed deeply, he spatted the leaves after he felt better.

And three days later, they arrived at Great Palace. It was very late since Zuri had been asking to stop every now and then.

Currently, Zuri was enjoying herself. She adapted to this place very fast, especially with the freedom that Khaos gave to her.

At first, she didn’t look weird at all. She simply enjoyed this palace so much because it was a big place for her to venture around.

But then, things started to go very bad.

In the beginning, people only saw her as a a drug user. It already gave them an irk to have their queen, the mate of the lycan, was in constant state of being high but, things only got worse from there on because one day Khaos found Zuri was bleeding.

"What happened with you?"

Khaos immediately came to her. Gayle was also worried because she entered Khaos’s study room with blood all over her face and dress.

"What’s going on? What happened with you?" Khaos asked Gayle to call for the healer, since they knew that Zuri couldn’t heal as fast as a normal shifter.

It could be said she had lost her ability to heal herself. That was why even a simple wound would make Khaos went berserk. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

However, before Gayle could leave, Zuri was giggling to see Khaos’s reaction, she enjoyed the attention so much when she saw Khaos’s expression.

"Relax. It’s not my blood, though." Zuri looked happy.
