Chapter 283: THEY ARE THREE DAYS AWAY

"Where is Ryan?" Caiden asked. He looked around. The three of them usually always together. It almost looked like they were triplets instead of twin. ƒгeewebnovёl.com

"I don’t know. He was not in his bed this morning," Mave said she wiped his tears.

"His bed was empty and I can’t find him." Otis chimed in.

Caiden looked confused for a while. He felt there was something not right. Ryan usually didn’t wander around alone. He was always be with the twin. That was why he found this pretty weird for him not to be here.

And he was right, because early this morning Lucas managed to sneak into the pack house and wake Ryan up without anyone noticed it, he took his brother away from the pack before the sunrise, and right now Ryan was being carried on the back by Lucas.

"Lucas, I have not yet said goodbye to Mave an Otis," he said in a small voice.

"No, you can’t wake them up. You can’t say goodbye to them. You do remember what I said before, right?"

Ryan did remember what Lucas had said. He had told him there would be time where they had to leave without giving anyone notice. They had to leave secretly. That was why he couldn’t be too attached to any of them.

And this obviously made Lucas very sad.

"Why we can’t say goodbye? They will not say anything to anyone."

"No. Ryan, our life is not like that and you know that."

After hearing what his older brother said, Ryan didn’t say anything. He simply pressed his little face against his brother’s shoulder and whispered his goodbyes.

"Goodbye, Mave. Goodbye, Otis."

Ryan knew there was a high chance that he would never see them again.

On the other hand, Lucas khew he was doing the right thing, seeing how the situation turned out. Right now, the only reason why his brother could stay in that pack and he was safe right now, it was because of Khaos.

It was Khaos’s influence that protect him and his brother.

However, with how things turned out and how the table had turned to the worse for the Lycan, he knew it wouldn’t be safe for him anymore to stay in that pact.

Actually, it was not safe for them to stay in this Kingdom.

After all, he worked for Rhett before and in a way, he was kind of betraying him by working under Khaos instead for the last few months.

Yet he didn’t regret that. If he could choose, he was willing to work for Khaos even longer.

"Lucas, where are we going?"

"We are going to the Three Deadly Ways." It was pretty obvious that he needed to meet with Khaos, at least, for one last time.

Meanwhile, the march of two hundred thousand warriors of the join forced between two kingdoms also almost arrived there and despite being late for two days, Lucas managed to arrive at three days earlier than them.

After all, it was so hard to move fast, with such enormous amount of people in tail. Not to mention their heavy equipment for this war.

However, it took Lucas three days to find the Great Palace, since the shadow and the darkness was pretty annoying. It was so hard to get through those things.

It was crazy what Khaos was capable of doing.

Yet, Lucas still was not sure it was a wise decision for Khaos to chase all the warriors away and leave this palace defenseless.

Would Khaos be able to fight two hundred thousand warriors? He was not sure about that. He was not sure about the extent of Khaos power and once Lucas arrived at the Great Palace, he immediately went to find Khaos.

He was not hard to be found, actually. Khaos was the one who found him since he could feel anyone who entered the Great palace.

"What are you doing here?"

Lucas turned around and startled to see Khaos. He still couldn’t get used to his change. He looked as gorgeous as usual, but there was this coldness from the shadow behind him, the creature from the hell that surrounded him.

"You startled me."

"What are you doing here?" Lucas then told Khaos everything that he knew about what happened.

He told him about the march. He told him about how the two kingdoms had joined hand together, about the fact that he had been betrayed. Of course, Khaos already knew about that too.

And once Lucas was done with his report, Khaos waved his hand. "You can leave now."

"Only that? Only like that?" Lucas scowled at Khaos’s nonchalant attitude. Didn’t he care someone destroyed this place?

Currently, Lucas was still carrying Ryan behind his back because the little boy was sleeping right now.

Khaos turned around and then threw him a few ingots, which was enough for him to live moderately for the rest of his life without even working again.

After all, the Lycan family was wealthy enough.

If the Great Lunar Kingdom was the richest Kingdom in this continent, then the old dynasty of the Lycan held wealth in different level.

That was why treasure from them caused the three kingdoms to fight against each other even though they were actually working together to take down the Lycan race.

However, for the first time, Lucas didn’t feel good to see the ingots. Still, he wouldn’t waste it. He slipped the ingots inside his pockets.

"What are you going to do now, Khaos?" Lucas asked, he was curious about what Khaos’s plan would be since the enemies were only three days away and probably, they would arrive faster, if they could solve the problem with the shadow and the mist.

Obviously, the shadow that Khaos put around the Great Palace would be a pain in the ass for them to deal with.

Khaos glanced at Ryan. "Leave. You don’t need to get involved."

"Don’t worry, I don’t plan to, I am just curios."
