Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Full Proof

’What was that power? Intent! Is it something I can attain as well? It’s different from exousia...’ I thought to myself deeply.

"Lift up your t-shirt." The tailed Lilith said to me.

"What?" I said in confusion.

"I need to clothe your wound. You can’t just leave it like that." She said then proceeded to lift my t-shirt up.

She used her dark cloud to slightly suppress the wound then wrapped it with bandages that she conjured up.

After she was finished we began our walk towards the city. We killed off any beasts that we found along the way.

Even with my injury, Ordinary and Ascended Beasts were not my match and we quickly slaughtered a dozen on the way. After half a day, we finally arrived at the far outer walls of the city. From where we stood, we could see the city in full view. Palaces could be seen all around the city, some were on the ground whilst others were floating a few meters off the ground.

Buildings of various sizes decorated the city and the occasional "hosts" would be seen flying around on beasts.

"So what’s this full proof plan of yours?" the tailed Lilith asked me.

"You’ll see. Wait for me over here for now." I said then slowly began to walk towards the gates of the city alone.

"Halt, who goes there?" A man wearing black armor with a purple emblem on it shouted at me in perfect English as I got closer to the gate.

’He speaks English!’ I exclaimed in my head.

"I’m just a weary host looking for a place to sleep tonight." I said to the man in armor.

"This is Madsus City, home to the Hardon Sect. We can’t allow just any Ordinary Host into our glorious city. You have no business being here. The only thing behind you is a forest and mountains...you are suspicious." The man in the black armor said warry of me.

"Wait...are you serious...? Those are the names?" I asked.

"That’s right so if you know what’s good for you..." The armored man began to say cockily, thinking I was intimidated by the names.

I then interrupted him and called out, "I see. Hey tailed Lilith."

The tailed Lilith swiftly appeared next to me, touching down gently.

The armored man quickly reached to grab his sword assuming a stance.

"Okay, tell her what you told me." I said to the armored man.

"Ahem... this is Madsus City, home to the Hardon Sect. You have no business being here..." the man in the black armor coughed and began to say.

The armored man repeated what he said, surprisingly, with even more pride. The tailed Lilith and I then looked at each other and burst into laughter/

"HAAHAHAHA!" I and the tailed Lilith began to laugh in unison. "MaDsUs cItY hahaha...!" I said mockingly then continue to laugh, tears now dripping from my eyes.

"Hahaha, Hard-on sEcT hahaha!" the tailed Lilith said mockingly as well then laughed even more.

"What the...." The man in the armor stared confused.

He finally made up his mind and drew his sword.

"Hey, calm down." A tall female with long white hair, said coldly as she appeared behind the armored man.

Her long hair covered her left eye, but it did little to hide her beauty, if it were even trying at all.

She stood at a height of 6’2 feet, that was much taller than the robed man and slightly shorter than I and Lilith.

"My name is Ravana, I apologize for my associate’s hostility. Come with me, I’ll handle your process for the city entry." Ravana said politely, but in a monotone voice.

She then started walking inside. The tailed Lilith then began to follow her, wiping the tears of joy off her face.

"Are you not coming?" the tailed Lilith ased me.

"I’ll be there soon, there’s something I need to take care of. Full proof, remember?" I said to her.

"You, come with me." I said to the 8-foot shadow standing next to the robed man then sped away in an instant.

’Who was he talking to?’ The armored man asked himself in his head.

In a far off distance from the city walls, I stood conversing with one of Dunamis’ shadows.

"You will die!" The shadow said to me.

"Why, because your master fears me?" I said to the shadow. "My master fears no one." The shadow replied confidently and without emotion.

"Then why is he so hell bent on killing me?" I said to the shadow, but it remained silent.

I then moved in closer and stared straight into the shadow’s eyes.

"As you can see Dunamis, I survived, I am still alive. You are afraid of me, afraid that there could possibly be someone capable of becoming stronger than you.

So, come on then, come and finish the job you little bitch. Come and prove just how spineless you are. You can do that, or you can wait and see how it feels like to fight a reaper stronger than you. Unless, you’re too scared to fight me on equal ground." I said to Dunamis through his shadow.

The shadow then gave me a look of pity, as though he were looking at a dead puppy in the middle of the road. The shadow’s aura then suddenly changed, giving off an immeasurable feeling. A deep, cold and raspy voice now spoke through it.

"You’re trying to bait me...well it worked. Two years, you have two years to get stronger, then... I’m coming for your head. Don’t dissapoint me." Dunamis said through his shadow then his aura disappeared. The shadow then disappeared and went back to the armored man.

(Sigh)

I then let out a long, heavy sigh of relief.

"Can’t believe that actually worked!" I said out loud.

I then went back to the city and met with the black armored man. He then directed me to a building inside, right next to the city gate.

"Everything good?" The tailed Lilith asked me.

"As full proof as can be." I said out loud and give the tailed Lilith a thumbs up.

Ravana then walked in holding two tiny round balls that looked pure white. These balls were the size of marbles and had a mechanical, yet liquid feel to it.

"Pour exousia into these balls then crush them in your hands." Ravana said to us as she handed us two blue balls.

"This is... weird." I said out loud.

"Your city really lives up to its name." The tailed Lilith added with an amused smile.

We then each take a ball and crushed it in our hands. The ball then turned into a bright, sticky liquid that moved around as though it were alive. It then tattooed the back of our hands. There was now an emblem tattooed on our hands. It was the same emblem as the one on the black armored man.

Information about us were now projected in a device around Ravana’s wrist.

"Ordinary Host and Ascended Host... wait, you’re only an Ascended Host?" Ravana asked with shock.

"Yes." The tailed Lilith replied.

Ravana then began to study the both of us for a while with a look of confusion.

"Take this and go to the Hardon Sect Palace if you’re ever interested in joining. Give this ball to Elder Mai when you get there.

The emblem on your hand serves as an identification and you will be treated as a citizen of this city for the next 10 days, after that, you will have to pay a fee in order stay longer.

However, if you are to join our Hardon Sect, you will automatically have permanent residence." Ravana said to us.

"Thank you for the information." I said to her.

She then led us to the inner gates of the city and praised the Hardon Sect the entire way, like a soldier speaking proudly about her country. Immediately after we walked into the inner gates, we felt a powerful pressure on us.

’Is Dunamis here?’ I thought to myself.

The pressure didn’t seem to be directed at us, it was just there. Since it wasn’t targeting us we decided to not mind it.

A strong wind then suddenly blew. The hair that was covering Ravana’s face, swiftly, blew to the side. A bright scarlet eye was now revealed. Ravana then quickly covered her face again with her long white hair.

"Why do you hide your eye?" I asked.

"What?" Ravana asked in shock.

"I said, your left eye is beautiful. So why do you hide it?" I asked her again.

Ravana went silent, staring at me in shock.

"It reminds people of a dark past. So, I don’t like to show it in public." Ravana said gently with her head looking down.

"It must be difficult. Living life worrying about what others think of you. People will always try to enforce their opinions and expectations on others. The only thing any of us can ever do is be the best version of ourselves.

Trying to be the best version of someone else’s idea of you is disgusting. So long as you hide your eye, you will never know how great you are and will believe that you’re always falling short. It’s these little things that get in the way of our growth." I said to her.

"Look at you preach." The tailed Lilith said mockingly.

"Shut up, this was for you as well. I’ve noticed your boobs have gotten bigger. What are you growing them for?" I said to the tailed Lilith.

"So you’ve been looking." The tailed Lilith said with a sly smile.

"I’ve been observing." I responded.

"We have arrived, but I’ll sadly have to leave you here. I have to return to my post...

thank you." Ravana said respectfully then pulled her hair back with her index finger.

She then took her leave, walking away with a smile.
