A Reaper's Philosophy-Chapter 64: Bodily Changes...Lol
For the first time in her life, Lilith actually needed a bath. Upon coming to Evnoia, Lilith’s body had changed and was now fully physical. She recently started noticing changes to herself and could no longer freely transform into anything else. It was as though she was a mortal with an actual body.
The tailed Lilith wasn’t the only one struggling with bodily changes.
I suddenly laughed out loud then began to think, ’I too have plenty to worry about. I no longer have access to my dark cloud. According to the system it probably has something to do with the wound on my stomach.
Something within the wound stopped me from healing...!’
’Intent!’ I thought to myself.
When I tried to manipulate Dunamis’ flow of time a message saying his intent is too strong kept appearing. Now this same power is suppressing my healing.
’I will need to learn what intent is in order to counter it.’ I thought to myself as I lay on a massive bed big enough to fit five people.
"This isn’t so bad." I said as I appreciated the softness of the bed.
"Told Your Ass!" The tailed Lilith screamed through the wall.
*Sigh*
I let out a heavy yawn and soon after, I slowly drifted to sleep.
I woke up the next morning with a long, heavy yawn, feeling rejuvenated.
"Shit, what day is it!" I exclaimed out loud.
Last time I slept I was passed out for months. I quickly rushed to the tailed Lilith’s door then barged into her bedroom.
"Why the fuck didn’t you wake-..." I began to shout as I barged in, but surprisingly found the tailed Lilith passed out on the bed.
She was snoring like an animal. The bed sheets wrapped around her body like there had been a battle between them.
"What the fuck?" I asked out loud.
I then picked up a chair and threw it at her. Her tail surprisingly caught the chair and threw it back at a wall.
"Wake up!" I said to her.
"Uuuuh... I don’t wannaaaaaa." The tailed Lilith said lazily.
I pulled the bedsheets and her along with them. She then used her powerful tail to stop herself from falling. She kept her tail on the ground, keeping her body afloat.
"You don’t sleep. How were you asleep?" I asked her.
"I- I don’t know. I was on my bed and before I knew it, I passed out. That shit felt so good though.
So this is sleep..." The tailed Lilith said longingly.
"We really do have normal bodies!" I said out loud.
(Grrrrrrr)
The tailed Lilith’s stomach cried out.
"I’m hungry." The tailed Lilith complained.
"I’ll meet you downstairs. Get dressed." I said to her then walked away.
I spotted a mirror on my way out and noticed that my eyes were now turquoise again.
’Yet another thing I have lost.’ I thought to myself then kept walking.
We then both went to shower and after, met down at the bar for breakfast. We took a seat around one of the round tables and ordered beast meat and juice for breakfast.
"I think we should join a sect. We definitely need a source of income and more information about this world. A sect is the best place to accomplish both these goals." I said to the tailed Lilith as she was munching down on the meat.
"I agree. We’re joining that Hardon Sect yeah?" The tailed Lilith asked after swallowing a mouthful of food.
"Yeah." I said to her.
"Hope you’re enjoying the food. Since you don’t have money, I’ll just keep this bill on your tab." The Bartender said with a smile.
"Tab hugh?" I said to him as I took a bite off of the big slab of meat on my hand.
"Don’t worry, you’re strong, you should be able to pay me back." He said to me.
We then quickly finished our breakfast and made our way towards the center of the city, where the Hardon Sect was located.
As we roamed the streets of Madsus City, we saw all kinds of buildings with mixed architecture. The city had a modern, yet medieval feel to it. The outskirts were barren, and the buildings at the edge of the city were medieval looking. However, the city began to look more modern the closer you moved to the center.
Now there was a mix to the architecture. The same duilding could have elements of modern and old architecture. This city was perhaps 5 times bigger than New York City.
Unlike New York City, there were no vehicles such as cars and motorbikes driving about. Instead, thousands of beasts could be seen walking and flying around as a mode of transportation.
A majority of the people in the street were ordinary and not hosts. One could tell by the aura alone that most of these people were not hosts. Nonetheless, both ordinary people and hosts used beasts to move about.
"Seems like it’s actually rare to see hosts around in public." I said out loud.
"Yeah, everybody is staring." The tailed Lilith said as she looked around.
I then began to notice the gazes as well. Everybody we passed would stare at us. Their faces were riddled with fear and respect.
As the Hardon Sect building came into view, we noticed that the nearby buildings had no doors, but had weird symbols on the ground. The Hardon Sect was only 100m away now. The building looked like mystical palace that had frightening and powerful auras coming out of it.
Just like the other buildings, the Hardon Sect also didn’t have any doors on it, but unlike the others, the mighty palace was hovering above the ground. Weird symbols could be seen on the bottom and people seemed to appear and disappear around the area.
"How are we supposed to get in?" The tailed Lilith asked out loud.
"I don’t know. Let’s just get there first." I said to her.
We then continued to walk towards the building. Once we reached the 50m mark, we were teleported into a dark space with nothing visible but a bright, white podium. On the podium, was a blue, jade like ball. It was the size of a football.
Whispers and screams could be heard clearly in the far distance of this dark space.
"I guess this is the way to enter the sect, but what the hell are we supposed to do with this thing here?" The tailed Lilith asked looking at the .
"More importantly, what is up with all the voices screaming. It’s really annoying." I added.
A young man then suddenly appeared beside us and looked at us suspiciously.
"You must be new here." The man said to us.
"Yes, could you...please tell us how to get in?" The tailed Lilith said in a flirtatious voice.
She put in the front of a damsel in distress. Naturally, being the youth that he is, he was ensnared easily. The young man’s heart began to beat faster as he blushed.
"Oh yes, certainly certainly. Just hold onto my shoulder." The young man said unable to resist the tailed Lilith’s charm.
The tailed Lilith and I then held the young man’s left and right shoulder, respectively. After I held onto his shoulder, the young man suddenly felt a chill run down his spine. He then shook it off and placed his hand on the blue, jade like ball.
The ball shone with a bright, blinding light as we were all teleported elsewhere. We were now in the middle of an incredibly spacious room that was 500sqm.
Above us were thousands of floors. Even with my eyesight, the floors seemed ednless. Each floor had one at most 3 doors. People could be seen flying in and out of them. This surprised both the tailed Lilith and I.
"This place is impressessive! I’m glad you showed up when you did. Those voices in the dark back there were getting annoying." I said out loud as I looked around in awe.
"Voices? You could hear the voices!" The young man said out loud in shock.
"How could I not? They were all shouting!" I said to him as I continued to look around.
"Why exactly are you two here?" The young man asked suspiciously.
"Someone called Ravana suggested we come here to join the sect." The tailed Lilith said to the young man.
"Wait, Ravana recommended you? You must be quite exceptional. However, even with her recommendation, not just anyone can join our Hardon Sect." The young man said as he went into deep thought.
"She said we should look for Elder Mai when we get here. Do you know who that is?" The tailed Lilith asked.
"DO I? That’s one of the most powerful and most respectable Elders of our Hardon Sect. One doesn’t even mention the name Elder Mai if not in awe. If it’s her, then it’s definitely possible to join!" The young man said enthusiastically.
"Take us to this elder." I commanded.
"Excuse me?" The young man said unbelievably.
"Please?" The tailed Lilith added.
"Hmm...for you, of course!" The young man said after a brief thought.
"My name is Gennaios Royce by the way, but people just call me Gen. Sorry for the late introduction. Can I get your names?" Gen asked politely as we followed him.
"I’m Tailed-..." The tailed Lilith began to say, but then suddenly got annoyed.
"I’m Lilith and the smug one over there is Grayson." The tailed Lilith said.
"Pleasure." Gen said to the tailed Lilith and gave me a nod.
We eventually arrived at a sort of reception desk with a lazy looking woman working behind an incredibly lengthy counter. It was even longer than The Bartender’s counter. Cylinder like cases would appear out of thin air on the long counter. On the counter were symbols, glowing beneath each case.
The lazy looking woman casually moved at an incredible speed, and sorted out the cylinder cases. There were dozens of cylinders coming in every few seconds. She went through them so fast it almost looked like there was more than one of her.
She suddenly appeared before us and somehow still managed to continue sorting out the cylinder cases.
"What do you want Gen, I’m busy?" The lazy woman asked.
"Hello to you too Tempelis. We were just looking for our Elder Mai." Gen said to her.
Tempelis then looked at Lilith and I suspiciously then sighed heavily.
(sigh)
"You brought in strangers!" She said sternly staring angrily at Gen with her baggy looking eyes.
"What’s the point of the spirit stealing orb if you just let in anyone that waltzes in here?" She added.
"If they harbored any ill intentions towards the sect, the orb would have already worked on them. I mean, Ravana recommended them-," Gen quickly began to defend himself, but then got cut off by Tempelis.
"I don’t have time to look into this right now. If they are intruders, Elder Mai will just kill them. She’s on the 50th floor, 3rd door." Tempelis said casually then suddenly disappeared.
’Damn, she could kill someone with those eyes.’ Gen said inwardly as he walked away with us.
"Alright, let’s go meet our great Elder!" Gen said then began to fly up.
