"For safety’s sake, let’s leave the way we came in; that will be more secure!"

Anthony said while lifting his hand to arrange my stray hair blown about by the sea breeze. He sighed slightly and continued, "You wouldn’t want them to have any accidents again, would you? Were you terrified by today’s events?"

I gasped upon hearing this, crouching in front of Anthony’s wheelchair, looking up at him, "Such a perilously dense experience — I dared not even think of it before! I can’t fathom how Margaret endured these past few days; she is much calmer and smarter than me."

"I can’t imagine if I were in her shoes if I could be half as sensible — it’s truly terrifying! You didn’t see when Henry detonated the bomb, how the Lycan King decisively threw himself onto Margaret to shield her with his body!"

As I spoke, I involuntarily got goosebumps on my arms, my eyes turning red as I looked toward Anthony, "That scene was like those decisive moments life and death in movies! Now I understand why Margaret could abandon everything for Donald; such a man is simply irresistible."

I raved on and on about Donald’s bravery, my tone filled with admiration for Margaret and Donald’s love, not even noticing the change in Anthony’s facial expression.

"The Lycan King is truly one in a million, and the bond between him and the Lycan Queen is truly enviable and desirable! But everyone has their unique life experiences, we don’t always have to be envious of others’ emotions and lives, ours are also wonderful."

The night fell early on Poison Snake Island. I turned towards Anthony in the tender evening light. After a brief silence, I chuckled softly, suddenly stood up, and wrapped my arms around Anthony’s neck, "You’re becoming braver now, daring to be jealous of His Majesty! Their love is so profoundly depicted, stirring and powerful, am I not allowed to sing praises?"

"He is our brother-in-law, what on earth are you thinking?"

As if I had uncovered his hidden thoughts, Anthony’s face flushed with a tinge of red. He held me tight and explained softly, "I understand what you’re saying, but I still can’t tolerate your praise for another man, even if he is the Lycan King! It doesn’t really matter who it is; I’m just jealous of such actions."

After the recent events, Anthony seemed much more direct than before; he had never spoken to me like this.

I felt as if my heart was tenderly squeezed, instantly turning into a puddle of warm water, my lips uncontrollably curled up, and I felt as though I was swirling in a whirlpool of happiness!

"When I saw you in the cave earlier, I was nearly scared to death. Promise me you won’t get hurt on your missions anymore, okay?"

I said, slowly pouting, knowing that my request could be rather challenging. For someone as brave and intelligent as Anthony, a Beta, his moments of shining were truly on battlefields and missions!

But thankfully, Anthony was happy to indulge me, he nodded without hesitation and agreed, "Alright! I promise I’ll try not to get hurt so easily and to return to Elizabeth safely every time." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

The smile in my eyes grew wider, feeling it was the most moving declaration of love I had ever heard. To have someone, no matter where he might go or what he might face in the future, he would strive to return safely to my side every time; I would always be his dearly beloved!

Unable to resist, I leaned closer to Anthony and pressed my lips fiercely onto his pale lips, recklessly committing my whole heart to him, for he was my closest, most needed lover.

Anthony was taken aback by my sudden action, frozen for a few seconds before catching his senses. His arms around my waist tightened, and he leaned down, kissing me back irresistibly.

I heard his sexy, thick breathing through his nostrils, my heart racing as I gently responded to his kiss. Then I pushed his shoulders forcefully, catching my breath as I explained, "Now is not the time for this; we need to board the ship and leave soon, do you want others to see us in such a reckless make-out session? Margaret and Donald’s situation isn’t stable yet!"

I realized that my behavior had been somewhat impulsive, and it wasn’t just Anthony’s fault.

Anthony first looked at me dumbly, then seemed to think my words made sense. He nodded and said, "You’re right, that wasn’t appropriate; I was impulsive."

He looked over to the Lycan soldiers approaching us and whispered, "Next time, you won’t have the chance to stop me."

This was the first time Anthony revealed such a domineering side in front of me. Suppressing my overly active heartbeat, I pushed him towards the boat, only I knew how hot my face felt, like the summer sun!
