Absolute Beast Dominion-Chapter 350: Back To Territory
Chapter 350: Back To Territory
"Well, not exactly an excuse since it would give him a rough idea of your soul rank—which is not good to disclose publicly since that might give an advantage to your enemies. But I still had an itch to beat him up," she said, continuing to eat her snack.
"What’s so dangerous about revealing soul ranks? And wasn’t my soul rank revealed back when I was tested in the city?" Leo asked.
Katherine side-eyed him.
"Yeah, but are you telling me it’s still of the same rank?" Her eyes were sharp, already knowing that his soul rank was higher than the common rank he was registered with in the Beast Hall back in Kendru City.
"Fair... But that scan or whatever it was—how am I supposed to be protected from it? The other day, you also mentioned that my defence is very low for my spiritual boundary."
Katherine looked up at him.
"I see that you always prioritise your safety. That’s good, but you also need to understand you cannot talk about everything everywhere." She paused, letting the silence hang as Leo’s ears sharpened and he heard the restaurant staff moving around, and the elves reluctantly eating the food on the table behind. A few waitresses and waiters were waiting for orders.
Leo nodded slowly.
"Good. Listen to this—me, my hubby, Brother Tarun, Professor Lu, Professor Gunther, and anyone who knows your capabilities might come to talk to you casually. In that, we might say things we are not supposed to say because we know you have the potential to get that information yourself, and us hiding it doesn’t make a difference."
She continued,
"In fact, if we say things like that, it only gets easier for you to tread your way around the water efficiently. And that’s what we want—for young people like you, the future of humanity, to grow as quickly as possible. But this doesn’t mean everybody else is qualified to hear it, as we already know—" She paused.
"—that you have that thing in you to keep secrets, and the fact that you are strong enough and will be strong enough to not find yourself in a situation where you are forced to vomit critical information to our enemies."
Leo went deep in thought. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
What’s the harm if common people come to know about some workings of the souls? he thought.
Katherine smiled faintly and shook her head.
"You have access till the 5th floor, right? Get yourself busy for a few hours in there, and you will understand everything naturally. Just so you know," she said, pointing the fork at Leo,
"not all humans are a part of humanity."
Leo suddenly felt a blast go through his head at that statement, but only one thing came to his mind.
Shit...
Then Katherine immediately waved her hand holding the fork dismissively.
"Though it’s not like they are not a complete part of humanity. They can be accepted, but there are a few criteria they must meet. Well, you will know everything, so don’t worry." Saying that, she shifted her attention back to her food.
But her senses were still on Leo.
That same strange sense block... Am I mistaken, or Brother Tarun was indeed speaking the truth? she thought, but her body language did not reveal anything. She continued casually slicing the bacon on her plate.
If that’s the case, we cannot miss this chance. We already lost our first for an immediate survival chance; we cannot miss this. We need our representative for this new world as quickly as possible before the age starts.
She looked towards Kaelion, who was chatting with Leo on the matter of elves.
She sighed.
If only your mother were here... she would have been proud of you.

Lily and Miho arrived with cheerful smiles as they too finished their food, and now they got ready to depart.
But before that, Leo took a detour towards Aurelius Hall.
"What are we doing here?" Lily asked.
"Life bracelets. We don’t want the elves to be in needless mortal danger every time. Especially during the time of bounty, when other students would be ready to kill."
Lily’s mouth formed a small ’o’ as she understood his reasoning.
"Hmph! I admit you think ahead when it comes to safety and growing strong, but I will always be ahead in management. You cannot steal my job in this. If in case you surpass me in this, I will work hard once again to surpass you. And I will, since your cheat for growing in strength wouldn’t work here," she said proudly.
"Yeah, yeah. But anyway—" Leo asked as they both went alone to retrieve the bracelets.
"You still won’t ask how I grow strong this quickly?" Leo asked. He had no problem revealing things to Lily.
Lily frowned.
"Don’t do that... From my own talent, I can say how strong I am... I am confident you must have 1 or 2 extra perks added to your talent, which make you stronger," she said.
"And that much is enough information for me. Because I know people tend to look down on your strength and potential because apparently you have a ’6-star talent’." She made a small hand gesture to relay how false that was.
"And in case people talk like that in front of me—yes, they will be beaten—but in the flow, I might even disclose how much of a broken ability you have. So no, keep me in the dark. Yeah, but..."
She stopped and looked into his eyes, her gaze filled with affection.
"For that reason, love me more. So much that even if we combine all the love in the world, it would still fall short in comparison to the love between us," she said, her cheeks red from embarrassment because it was the first time she had said something like this in a public place.
But Leo had no such qualms. He leaned in and lightly kissed her cheek.
"You are literally half of my being. I will always love you higher than any threshold that exists."
Behind them, Kaelion sneered. Miho was shy and looked away. Meanwhile, Katherine looked amused.
"Well, shamelessness is also a good trait... in some cases."
