Abyss Solo-Chapter 113 - : 068 The Second Prince’s Thank-You Gift
Chapter 113: 068 The Second Prince’s Thank-You Gift
The next morning.
Kolev, with two dark circles under his eyes, walked down the spiral staircase and immediately saw Yang Ming slumped on the sofa.
The old man approached Yang Ming and observed carefully for a while, muttering, “Little Lyu, what’s wrong with your boss? Is Omega a great beauty? Why does he keep mumbling?”
The housekeeping robot, busy making nutritious porridge, let out a light sigh and responded in a rough electronic synthesized female voice,
“Omega is a mecha system, the trump card of the New Federation Agents, a massive weapon that can directly threaten the Imperial Palace’s safety, and now it’s escaped to the planet’s far side.
...
“The boss indeed has taken a fancy to it.”
“Mecha? No wonder.”
Kolev laughed,
“The big boys I’ve led, whenever they see mecha, their eyes light up. They only think about how cool and mighty piloting mecha is, but they never consider the cost and difficulty of maintaining a powerful mecha.”
“You people don’t understand! Mecha is the romance of men!”
Yang Ming angrily scolded, changed his position to lie on the sofa, and sighed lamentedly,
“Ah, Omega, without you, I can’t breathe anymore.”
Kolev sneered, “The plan must have been successful, seeing how relaxed you all are.”
Lyu said, “We have achieved the expected outcome… Mr. Haton, would you like to try my newly concocted nutritious porridge? I am attempting to balance the complex relationship between taste and nutrition.”
“Oh, this,” Kolev laughed guiltily, “you know, Little Lyu, I still want to live a few more years.”
“Okay,” Lyu said helplessly, “this is food; there are no toxins inside… I assure you.”
Yang Ming let out a deep yawn, and his eyes instantly became moist, “The only uncertainty now is how the Second Prince’s side is progressing… Lyu, you shouldn’t have stopped me back then!”
“But boss, you told me to remind you in time, not to do anything outside the plan.”
“We could have taken out that group of guys back then.”
“And then your modified combat body’s abilities will be collected by the New Federation Intelligence Department, and your risk of exposure in the future will increase indefinitely, whereas last night’s battle mainly relied on technical means. It was a perfect ambush.
“Boss, you can see this, the surveillance information Lyu just got.”
A small projection screen appeared in front of Yang Ming and Kolev, automatically playing a video.
The video’s background showed a low-roofed house.
A group of New Federation agents looked gloomy; the atmosphere was very dreary. If it weren’t for the timeline slowly jumping, Yang Ming might have thought this was a still image.
Half a minute later, sound finally came from the video,
“Apparently, we are being suppressed by the Sherman Empire’s intelligence department.”

“We should seek more technology and equipment! Launch a retaliation immediately!”
“Now we must lie low, find a chance to leave, just as the attackers said yesterday. It was only a warning. The Wind royal family is a link to the Sherman Empire’s interests, and they will not allow any issue with the royal family.”
“If it were the Sherman Empire’s action, they would definitely have a large fleet appear on the planet’s periphery; that is their style.”
“Not necessarily,” Lulian said, “the internal power structure of the Empire is very complex. The Military Intelligence Bureau only handles intelligence. The order to dispatch warships needs approval from the Imperial Military Committee members. Deploying a fleet to deal with us intelligence personnel would be seen as making a mountain out of a molehill. In such a case, crushing us in the same field also demonstrates the Empire’s dignity.”
“Chief, you shouldn’t have exposed Omega.”
Lulian retorted, “Do you think given the previous infiltration by the other party, the existence of these three Omega could really be hidden?”
The room fell silent again.
“Has Yang Ming’s trajectory been reconfirmed?” Lulian asked.
“Nothing unusual. After sending the Second Prince to the Imperial Palace, he went for a drive by the sea, then went to that gaudy shop to drink and sing, all under our surveillance. He also complained that the Second Prince would probably never play with him again, and he had lost a friend to chat with. At dawn, he returned to the villa in the chemical plant.”
“What should we do now, assassinate him directly? Chief.”
Lulian frowned and said, “The focus on this Yang Ming is reduced to a general target, do not waste resources on him. The superiors are studying countermeasures. We must now move to the Fifth Administrative Star in batches, temporarily abandoning Ilando Star. The Torch Plan has to be paused.”
“Didn’t we plant some informers within the Imperial Military Intelligence? No information has come through?”
Lulian’s eyes suddenly became very sharp, “Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t ask!”
“Okay, Chief, I misspoke.”
…
The projection screen vanished with a swoosh.
Kolev looked at Yang Ming, grinning, “General target, you’ve been downgraded. That’s good news.”
Yang Ming stretched, “They at least have some insight, I’m just an ordinary young millionaire. Now, the ordinary young millionaire is going back to his room full of booze to sleep. If there’s news from the Second Prince, call me immediately.”
Kolev frowned and asked, “Can I go out and move around now?”
“Not yet,” Yang Ming said, “wait a few more days to see the other party’s reaction. Even if the New Federation agent team temporarily retreats from Ilando City, they will definitely leave a lot of informants.”
“Oh,” Kolev murmured, “I still have a few shady capitalists’ parties to attend; this is a big moneymaker.”
Yang Ming replied vaguely, “Life is more important, Uncle Haton. Think of your lovely daughter; you wouldn’t want her to be deceived by those men with ulterior motives, would you?”
“Speaking of which, I asked Molly to…”
Kolev was about to continue, but Yang Ming had already disappeared atop the spiral staircase.
“Let the boss rest a bit,” Lyu said through the housekeeper robot’s speaker, “the boss has been on edge recently, constantly testing with the Second Prince to establish a cooperation relationship, which actually carries significant risk.”
Kolev nodded and murmured a few times, “You pretended to be people from the Sherman Empire Military Intelligence Bureau, right?”
“Yes, indeed.”
“Isn’t that dangerous?”
Kolev mumbled nervously,
“The Sherman Empire isn’t easy to mess with. They really care about impersonations, and their revenge usually comes very fiercely…”
Lyu chuckled, “Don’t be intimidated by the Sherman Empire’s reputation, Uncle Haton. Their founding emperor was just a failing examinee.”
“Hmm?” Kolev looked utterly baffled.
Lyu looked down and did not say much more, continuously stirring the unknown compound called ‘porridge’ in the iron pot.

…
Yang Ming hadn’t slept for a few hours when he was awakened by the Second Prince’s burly guard at the door, dragging him to the Second Prince’s palace.
During his short sleep, the Wind royal family issued three statements.
The first statement condemned the unrighteous rebellion on the Fifth Administrative Star, publicly accusing the New Federation Intelligence Bureau of orchestrating a series of farces to plunder national resources.
The statement claimed, the root cause of the Wind Empire’s economic downturn in recent years was the New Federation’s unscrupulous political and commercial methods and pervasive espionage activities.
The Wind Empire would launch the toughest counter-espionage operations domestically.
The second statement announced that the Wind royal family had formally requested support from the Sherman Empire royal family, hoping the Sherman Empire would provide diplomatic and economic assistance.
The third statement proposed a series of economic reforms over the next decade aimed at increasing the basic income of the populace, enriching domestic resources, reducing industry monopolization and exploitation, and genuinely protecting the interests of the working class.
And so on.
Yang Ming glanced at these three statements, realizing that the Second Prince had a resounding victory last night.
Originally, Yang Ming thought the Second Prince could at most reach the level of the second and third statements, actively letting the Sherman Empire intervene (restricted to diplomatic and economic levels), and releasing signals of economic reform.
Breaking ties with the New Federation openly would put a lot of pressure on the Wind royal family members.
Convincing the Emperor to issue the first statement was indeed very challenging.
When a yawning Yang Ming appeared in front of the Second Prince Edwan, Edwan’s stern face broke into a smile.
“Hey! I really did it! Ming! I actually convinced my stubborn old father!”
Yang Ming nodded perfunctorily, dragged the chair to sit at the edge of the long table, “Your Highness is amazing.”
The maid beside gently handed over the tea; the white and slender hand intruded into Yang Ming’s sight, instantly reviving his spirit.
“How did you do it?”
Yang Ming picked up the fragrant tea, sniffed it, and took a light sip, “I mean, how did you get your father to denounce the New Federation?”
Edwan pulled up a chair and flashed two neat rows of white teeth at Yang Ming,
“Oh, you would never imagine their expression when I appeared at their meeting, my two brothers looked like they had eaten a bee, oh no, eaten a cockroach!
“I convinced my father, starting with the data on our asset shrinkage, then used a few of your pretty words. When my father felt, he might lose everything to the New Federation, even his life, what more was there to fear?”
Yang Ming nodded, “You know your father very well.”
“Of course,” Edwan laughed, “I’m a prince, and the only thing a prince has to do is win the Emperor’s favor. I’m good at this.”
Yang Ming asked, “What was the Sherman Empire’s response?”
“They just replied,” Edwan said seriously, “next month, at the beginning of next month, an Empire General along with an elder from the Imperial Clan Office will lead a delegation to Ilando Star, and the news has been publicized.”
Edwan turned his head to the left and said in a gruff voice aloud, “The mighty Sherman will never allow its vassal state to suffer the evil foreign invasion!”
Then turning to the right, he said elegantly, “We are truly honored to be your vassal state.”
Yang Ming and the surrounding maids almost burst into laughter.
Edwan shrugged helplessly, “There’s no other way; we can only use the Sherman Empire now to counterbalance the New Federation’s pressure. Oh, Ming… the video you sent me last night…”
Yang Ming said, “When the New Federation agent team headquarters moved, it was attacked by an unknown force, which happened to be captured by the drone I sent out, just like that.”
“Oh, unknown force,” Edwan whispered, “then they lost a dozen people, ruined half of their vehicles, and exposed three valuable mechas. It was the video you sent that made my father directly reject my idiot brother’s proposal, and firmed his resolve to confront the New Federation!”
Yang Ming blinked.
Finding his hint not obvious enough, he directly said to Edwan,
“Do we in the Wind have such anti-ship mecha? It doesn’t have to be ten meters high, six or seven meters would do.”
Edwan confusedly asked, “Why would we want such flashy but impractical things? Upgrading our ships takes more funding, some single-function auxiliary robots suit our fleet better.”
Yang Ming’s face was immediately full of frustrated gloom.
“You want that kind of thing? Didn’t realize you were a mecha enthusiast.”
Edwan pondered while stroking his chin,
“They are now hiding in the back. Although we plan to drive them out of Ilando Star first, it isn’t good to push the New Federation directly to the brink.
“I’ll try to help you get one. If it doesn’t work, I’ll order a mecha for you; it is just for collection, right?”
“Forget it, Edwan, what I desire is only the security that comes with strong combat power.”
Yang Ming sighed lightly.
Apart from the powerful Omega, nothing else could heal the disappointment and sadness deep in his heart.
“Let me think about how to pay you for this stage,” Edwan rambled, “money? Oh, money is an insult to our friendship.”
Yang Ming: Brother, precisely such insults are what I’m lacking!
“Thinking and thinking, I can only give you this.”
Edwan snapped his fingers, and two seductive women walked out from behind the screen.
Just as Yang Ming was about to ‘righteously’ reject these two beauties, he saw the trays in the two maids’ hands.
A card.
And an ID.
