Adventures of the last Wild Dragon-Chapter 181: Magic Shopping!

Violet and her friends followed behind the young sales assistant as she led them through the expansive ground floor of the shop. They saw all manner of magical nic-nacks, some they could understand, like an enchanted sword.

Yet other items were much more esoteric, they walked past a glass jar which held ball of floating green light suspended in a strange liquid. A crystal that emitted an ever changing hue of colour, a pendant suspended in the air by slowly moving vines. The one that truly confused Violet though was within one of the glass cabinets, it was a stick, nothing special about it from what she could see, it was just a plain old stick.

Seeing it was so confusing that Violet was unable but ask about it. "Umm why is there a stick here? Is it a magic stick?"

The assistant chuckled lightly as she answered. "Ahh yes that is something that the master made himself, it’s one of his favourite enchantments really. You see that is an immovable stick. Simply pour in some mana into it and the stick will no longer move, even if it is just in the air. Sadly the enchantment is quite weak so it can be moved so long as you have the strength to life the mundane item."

Violet cocked her head to the side as she processed that statement. "So it’s a stick that can hover in the air, but will move if you slightly push it? That seems kinda useless?"

Katy laughed good naturedly at that. "Indeed it is, that one was a failed experiment, mainly there to just be a proof of concept. We have true immovable rods on the next floor, they can not be moved unless you can lift well over a tonne." Violet hummed at that, kind of understanding the concept but still finding it weird.

Regardless they soon arrived at the opulent stairs leading up. They soon arrived at the first floor, then swiftly accended another set of stairs leading them to the second floor. Here Katy stopped as she fiddled with an amulet hung around her neck, Violet noted the slight fluctuation of mana that happened she touched the amulet, assuming that it was some kind of enchantment.

A moment later she understood why she did so. As they left the stair way a noticeable surge in mana density hit the girls, yet seemed to flow around Katy seemingly unable to impact her.

Rhyana and Susan grunted at the amount of mana inundating them, Violet and Luna only flinching slightly as they quickly adjusted to the increased density.

"Apologies for any discomfort, as I said earlier, we only allow persons of a particular strength access to this level, one can only shop here if they are able to manage the mana." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Violet understood the sentiment. Truly if she had walked onto this floor befor her recent evolution she doubted that she could have handled the density of mana. Even now she felt slightly dizzy, thankfully that feeling was slowly fading away as she adjusted to the pressure.

Katy took a moment to allow them to adjust before she once more set off, slowly making her way through the opulently decorated shop floor. The items being displayed up here radiated magic at an impressive level. Making the items shown on the ground floor feel like nothing more than toys in comparison.

She led them to a particular second of the shop, stopping behind a glass container showcasing several different items of jewelry. From rings to necklaces, several different items lay on velvet cushions behind the glass coverings.

"This here is our array of storage items, we have everything one could need. From rings, necklaces, bracelets to even piercings. Do you have any preference to what kind of item you would desire?" Katy asked the group.

"I need one that can adapt to size changes." Rhyana stated. Getting a curious look from the sales assistant prompting Rhyana to explain further. "I am a beast, this is simply my humanoid form due to my shapeshift skill. I will need an item that will not break when I return to my true form."

The woman’s eyes widened in surprise at that, clearly not expecting that by of them had been beasts. Something that surprised Violet, she figured that it would have been quite simple to understand considering that the rude guard at the city entrance had instantly noticed that they were beasts.

But then again, no one else had managed to note that. Well, except for the elders of the Wild Order, but Violet assumed that was due to being told about it in advance. So how did that guard know they were beasts? Violet was unsure and wanted to think on it more, but her attention was brought back to the conversation at hand as Katy finally responded.

"Ahh, I see... well we do in fact have a singular item that is able to adapt to its wielders size. Although the size of the storage space is slightly reduced and the price is a fair bit higher than a normal storage device." She hesitantly explained.

"That’s fine, so long as it works price is not an issue!" Violet happily stated.

Hearing that Katy’s eyes opened wider, a small smile creeping onto her face before she quickly regained her professional demeanour.

She then promptly opened one of the display cases and brought out a necklace. It was made from delicate silver chains with a pendant of a key dangling from the bottom. The links seemed fragile, as if they could break at a moments notice.

"This here is a true marvel of magical design. The item will bond with a singular person, becoming an intrinsic part of them. It will automatically adjust its size to fit anyone. Also please do not worry about the item breaking. It wa near indestructible, so you need not worry about it being exposed whilst in your beast form."

This got Rhyana’s attention and she leant in closer to inspect the storage item. Katy then turned to Susan, asking her for any preferences she may have regarding her own item.

Susan did not need anything specific, opting for a functional and simple golden ring that fit snugly on one of her fingers. Apparently it’s storage space was considered exceptional, the ring containing an entire 20 meters cubed of space within that could be instantly accessed.

Violet then looked down at her own ring as she once more gazed at the vast amount of space that she had with her own. The insides of which held multiple small hills of gold and treasure. She opted not to mention how big her own item was as she listened to Katy extol the ’expansive space held within the item.

But both Susan and Rhyana both seemed more than pleased with their new storage items, merrily playing around with them after Violet paid the apparently exorbitant prices with ease.

With the most important items bought, it was now time for them all to see if they spotted anything else that they would like to purchase. Violet once more happily agreeing to buy anything and everything that her friends wanted.

With that decided, the group split up, everyone heading in their own direction as Katy flitted between the girls offering her help and advance as they asked for it.

After all, she had already learnt more money as commission from that first purchase than she would make in a month. So she was more than eager go ensure that the group spent even more money that day!
