Adventures of the last Wild Dragon-Chapter 182: Things to do in a City
Eventually the four girls reconvened together, each carrying one or two items that they had picked out from the array of magical items.
Susan had chosen a wand, it held an aquamarine crystal embedded in the pommel, made of willow branches that held a faint blue hue. It was supposed to enhance her control of water, enabling her to both form attacks faster and with greater power and control.
She also carried with her a belt made from simple brown leather, it held a simple but powerful enchantment. When wearing the belt it would boost both her strength and constitution. Useful for her as she was still quite squishy, at least according to Violet.
Rhyana only returned with a single item, not one that would be useful in combat necessarily but would be quite useful during day to day activities whilst in her humanoid form. She carried with her a dress of all things, it had a couple of quite nifty enchantments. The first being that it could transform at will into any item of clothing she could imagine.
It was also self cleaning and repaired itself so long as it wasn’t too heavily damaged. The first enchantment would also allow her to still technically wear it whilst in her beast form as she could turn it into a scarf or something else at will.
Luna was next to arrive back, she came along with Katy the assistant who helped her carry several items.
The own she was most satisfied with was a new set of enchanted armour. It was leather but was white in colour with blue trimmings. It held the standard set of self repair and cleaning enchants, along with a very useful ability to lower the mana cost of any ice related skill she may use.
She also had a new pair of boots, they would reach mid calf and were both supple and comfortable. They allowed her to move without making any sound and enable her to move faster.
Finally came Violet, she had perhaps the oddest items. One was a set of plates that would apparently keep any item of food placed on it at its optimal temperature indefinitely. Another was a canteen of water that would never run out. A bundle of crystals that emitted light and could float. And a war hammer of all things. Apparently the hammer could alter its size at will, allowing her to pump her mana into it to cause it to grow to outrageous sizes, she could also do the same but make it shrink.
If she would ever use said hammer was anyone’s guess, but she found it interesting so decided to buy it anyway.
Katy looked at the arrayed items with sparkles in her eyes, already calculating exactly how much money this would all cost and how much commission she would receive!
"Is this everything for you? Or can I interest you in anything else dear customers?" She asked politely.
Violet hummed as she contemplated for a moment, quickly looking at her friends to see if they wanted to find anything else, seeing them shake their heads Violet turned back to Katy and smiled. "No this is everything! Thank you."
Katy nodded her assent and went about totaling up all of their purchases, soon coming up with a total that caused her to gulp involuntarily. "Umm your total will be 2739 gold, 73 silver." Not noticing any reaction from Violet she hastily added. "But due to your bulk purchase we can lower that down to 2730 gold, keeps it nice and even, ha-ha." She laughed awkwardly at the end.
What she took as Violet’s displeasure at the price was not that at alll, in fact she was simply concentrating on her storage, mentally counting up all her gold to try and match the price. Then she had a thought. "Ohh Katy, what is one of these worth again?" Saying so she took out one of her platinum coins and placed it on the table.
"T-that would be worth 1000 gold ma’am."
"Hmm, that’s good then! Here you go!" Saying so Violet then summoned forth a second platinum coin along with a small pile of gold coins, the amount quickly overflowing the countertop and pouring down onto the floor. "Oops, sorry."
Katy blinked at the literal river of gold coins that was so carelessly spilt onto the counter, her mind beginning to give up when trying to understand these customers actions. Still she stiffly moved to gather the coins up and began to nearly stack them as she counted.
Once satisfied that everything was accounted for Katy bowed to the group. "Thank you for your business, please do come again if you need anything magical."
With a wave violet and her friend turned to go, after collecting their items and storing them in their new storage items of course. "Bye bye, thanks for your help!" Luna called out. Already looking forward to using her new armour.
Once back out on the street the group noticed a significant uptick in the number of pedestrians heading in the same direction. "Hmm what do you think they are all going towards?" Violet asked the group.
"Don’t know, we could follow along and see what’s happening?" Luna suggested.
Seeing as they had no real pressing concerns at the moment the group decided to follow along behind the crowd. Staying close together as they merged into the traffic of a bustling city.
They soon found themselves heading towards a grand building. It was oval in shape and towered over the nearby buildings. The distant cheers of a crowd within could be heard from out in the street.
Long lines of customers waited their turns to enter the building, slowly being admitted as time passed.
"What is this place?" Violet wondered aloud as she gazed up at the massive structure and the crowds of people clamouring to get within.
"This is the colosseum of course, are you new here?" A young elf lady who was stood nearby said, a sparkle of interest in her eyes as she looked over the four girls.
"What’s a colosseum?" Violet asked with interest. "And yes we arrived yesterday!"
"Ufufufu, well it is where the greatest warriors and fighters gather to challenge each other and prove their strength of course. All in front of their adoring fans naturally." She giggled at Violet’s enthusiasm.
"Ohh that sounds like fun! I wanna fight! Can we enter?" She excitedly asked the elf.
This caught the woman off guard, not expecting the attractive woman before her to want to actually enter as a fighter of all things. Yet a smile still split her lips as she replied. "Why of course you can dear, in fact I can even get you in, how about it? Want to fight against some of Cragkieth’s best?"
Violet excitedly looked over at her friends, seeing that Luna was also looking quite excited at the prospect of a good fight. Susan and Rhyana on the other hand appeared less interested at the prospect.
"Yes, me and Luna would definitely want to do so! Can our friends watch?"
"Ufufufu why of course you can darling! Please follow me and I can lead you right in!" The elf said with a wide smile.
It would seem like the colosseum was about to have some new blood.
