Chapter 210: Chapter 210: For People or Profit

Florence Fuller came out of the bedroom an hour later, and there was an excessively quiet, eerie atmosphere in the living room downstairs.

Luke Gardiner had already tidied up the guest room, sitting on the sofa downstairs. He stood up immediately when he saw her coming down.

Aunt Sunworth looked at Luke Gardiner’s face and quickly went over: "Madam, breakfast is ready. Would you like to have some?"

"No, thank you. Please arrange a car for me, I need to go out."

Last night, Luke Gardiner had brought her here, so she had no car to go out with.

"I’ll take you," Luke Gardiner said. "Where are you going?"

Florence looked at him with eyes void of warmth: "I’m going to the hospital to check if I have a disease. Are you coming?"

The servants inside the house were utterly shocked by what they heard.

Luke Gardiner’s eyes trembled, visibly wounded: "Florence Fuller, I’m not as filthy as you think. I’m not sick!"

He used to be a playboy, but he didn’t sleep with everyone. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

"The hell knows if you’re sick or not! Right now, I’m worried about myself."

She walked a few steps toward the outside, then stopped and looked at Luke Gardiner: "This marriage, it must end!"

Florence left TJ Bay and went to a private hospital for a full-body check-up, then returned to Eastern Splendor Imperial Residence.

She had Lily Hart and Oliver Newton cancel her work for a week and spent that week in silence at home.

On the day she returned to work, she seemed unaffected. Oliver Newton was driving in the front seat, and Lily Hart was in the back, briefing her on the company’s significant matters over the past week and the upcoming schedule.

"By the way, you went for a health check last week, right, boss?"

"Yes." Florence had left right after the check-up, and her state at home wasn’t good. She was in a daze, and the health check was forgotten.

"The doctor sent the report, and everything is normal. However, the doctor mentioned that you had a severe car accident before, so your body is relatively weak. It’s still necessary to rest and not overwork yourself." Lily Hart continued, "I think you need a nutritionist."

When Florence was hospitalized due to the car accident in Cloudsea, she had a nutritionist. But after returning to SJ City, she didn’t hire another one. Partly because she felt being discharged meant recovery, and partly because her busy work schedule made it difficult to follow a nutritionist’s meal timing.

"As long as there’s no major illness, it’s fine." Florence leaned back in her chair: "My body is quite good, no problems."

Lily Hart dropped the topic.

A major partner had recently come to negotiate cooperation with NQ; they were someone Florence Fuller had known before, the sole heir of the Maureen Family, Siya.

To be precise, she had fully inherited the entire Maureen Family last year. She and Florence occasionally kept in touch, but it wasn’t passionate.

They hadn’t seen each other for a long time, and both came with the goal of achieving a cooperative agreement. When they met, it was easy and pleasant.

Florence, along with some company executives, accompanied Siya to the company’s physical store for a visit. The two walked together, followed by senior members of both companies.

"You said you’ve made a fortune at SN Capital, and now your company is so powerful," Siya looked at her. "Don’t you plan to take a break?"

Florence followed her into the store and smiled slightly: "Though money can’t be earned forever or spent completely, I enjoy the feeling of gaining."

"Then you should play with investments." Siya looked at the counter and pointed to a necklace inside.

The clerk took it out, Siya compared it against Florence’s neck, then placed it in front of herself, looking at her reflection in the mirror with satisfaction: "Your company’s designer is pretty good."

Just as Florence was about to speak, a disturbance was heard. Glancing towards the source, several tall bodyguards seemed to be blocking someone, but the blocked woman’s voice was sharp: "Let me in. Why, afraid to let others see what your boss is doing? Making so much money but not even caring for your own mother, just heartless."

Florence couldn’t see the person but found the voice familiar.

Lily Hart quickly went over and whispered in Florence’s ear: "It’s Clara Fuller."

Florence gestured with her hand for her to handle it and continued looking at necklaces with Siya.

Siya was not disturbed by this trivial matter; she leisurely started browsing and picked out a few necklaces.

In the evening, the two had dinner alone, during which Siya chatted about her wedding.

She was getting married.

Florence asked her to whom.

She thought it might be someone influential from France, but it turned out it was her assistant.

Florence had barely paid attention to the assistant beside her today and couldn’t recall what that person looked like, but she was surprised: "I thought you’d choose someone with a comparable family background."

Siya also laughed: "I used to think the same, but he’s actually considered part of the Harper Family."

Florence paused.

Siya said: "The Harper Family of the Polaris Consortium; he and the current head of the Harper Family are cousins."

"And he’s willing to stand behind you."

"No choice, or else there’s no marriage," Siya said. "However, with this, cooperating with the Polaris Consortium might get easier."

Florence smiled: "Is it for love or benefits?"

"Both," Siya raised an eyebrow: "Be sure to attend my wedding."

"When is it?"

"End of the month, in Ireland!"

Florence: "..."

There’s someone getting married in over ten days who can still fly to SJ City to discuss business with her.

"Don’t be too surprised. Once I wrap things up here, I’m flying straight to Ireland. Want to come with me?"

Florence shook her head: "There are things at the company recently, I can’t leave. I’ll come later."

Siya nodded and handed her a wedding invitation from her bag.

After dinner, once she parted ways with Siya and got into the car, Lily Hart handed her a tablet.

"Clara Fuller probably saw the media and wanted to deliberately make a scene today. The media has been dealt with, so there won’t be any impact."

"Hmm." Florence pondered for a moment: "Was she waiting outside?"

"Probably not. I checked her recent situation. She seems unable to stay in Cloudsea, so she came to SJ City. Now, she’s keen on dating some rich second-generation types to get some money to spend, and she loves to shop at NQ’s stores, whether for clothes, bags, or jewelry."

"Why?"

"To take advantage of you. Sometimes she makes a scene to get a discount, telling the store manager she’s your sister. They don’t believe her but don’t want to cause any negative impact, so they usually find a way to send her off."

Florence handed over the tablet: "Go handle this matter. Clear the last three days of the month; I’m going to Ireland for the wedding."

"Hmm?" Lily Hart checked the records: "There’s a wedding invite?"

"It’s Siya’s, I only found out just now." Florence explained: "Make sure to book the plane tickets for me."
