After Divorcing the Tycoon, I Married into a Wealthy Family Again-Chapter 212: Press Him to Sign
"Sister Florence."
The male celebrity Florence Fuller "sponsored" was named Alexander Sussex. He was the pure, innocent type. When Florence first approached him, she made it clear that she could provide him with the best resources to make him a popular star. How could he refuse such a great opportunity?
Alexander received Florence’s message, signifying that he needed to present the divorce papers.
Just to thoroughly annoy Luke Gardiner.
Initially, Alexander didn’t have the guts to do it. After all, Luke Gardiner was his immediate superior. But Florence offered him a high price, and on his first day at the Gardiner Clan to find Luke, he was somewhat afraid. After all, when Luke lost his temper, it seemed he genuinely wanted to kill him, repeatedly threatening to put him on ice.
In front of Luke Gardiner, Alexander called Florence Fuller, stating that if Luke were to shelve him, she had ample funds to support him at home.
Alexander was awed by Luke’s shattered demeanor at that moment.
He never imagined that the once arrogant, untamed son of the Gardiner Family would be so jealous because of a woman.
"This is the fifth time I’ve delivered it, and once again, he didn’t even glance at it before tearing it up." Within just a week, Alexander had become very familiar with coming to her office.
Florence Fuller didn’t say anything; what she wanted was only to provoke Luke Gardiner.
To see how long he could hold out until the divorce.
A divorce lawsuit would be a sure loss, and she couldn’t overdo it; Old Mr. Gardiner had been kind to her. She could not drag the entire Gardiner Family down just because of Luke Gardiner.
"Is there anything else you need me to do?" Alexander moved closer to her, admiring her delicate and charming face, and felt a slight stir within him.
Such a beautiful person, with elegance comparable to any female star in the entertainment industry, and with money and power. People in the circle knew he was "sponsored" by Florence Fuller and were extremely envious of him.
Unfortunately, Florence Fuller was only acting with him.
"Nothing for now, I’ll contact you if I need anything." Florence Fuller turned back to her desk to pick up her phone. "That endorsement you wanted, my secretary has negotiated it. Your agent will follow up with you later." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Alexander was reluctant to leave. "Sister Florence, it’s hard for me to feel good taking this money; it’s just too easy."
Florence shot him a glance. "What do you want?"
Alexander moved closer. "I want you to know; I’m better to you than President Gardiner."
Florence let out a cold laugh. "Alexander, we discussed this the moment I reached out to you. Take the money and do the job properly; don’t overstep your bounds, understand?"
Alexander felt a little wronged, suspecting that perhaps Florence was doing this because of a conflict with Luke Gardiner, using him not for physical reasons but just for show.
"Alright, then contact me if anything comes up." Alexander conceded. "I’ll head out now."
Once she had peace, Florence Fuller exhaled heavily.
She hadn’t had much respite before Old Mr. Gardiner’s call came through.
Old Mr. Gardiner probably knew to some extent about her "sponsoring" someone and was now openly pushing for a divorce from Luke Gardiner. He didn’t say much on the call: "Tonight, you and Luke come back to the old house and bring your lawyer with you for an open discussion."
Old Mr. Gardiner’s position clearly supported her, which delighted Florence Fuller: "Alright."
She arrived back at the old house on time with her lawyer. The old man had dismissed the servants, leaving only the butler and a few suited individuals whom she recognized as lawyers Old Mr. Gardiner had brought in.
"I’ve drafted some compensation contracts for you," the old man indicated for the lawyer to hand them to her. "Take a look."
"Grandfather," Florence Fuller shook her head. "You’ve helped me more than enough. Because of the Gardiner Family, I’ve gained a lot."
"Consider it my recompense to you." Old Mr. Gardiner sighed. "Back then, I took a fancy to you, and the Fuller Family hurriedly wanted you to marry over. But once you did, it only led you to..."
He shook his head.
Ultimately, it had been a wrong decision.
Florence Fuller looked at the contract; the old man handed her a pen: "Take it."
Florence glanced at him and accepted it.
Luke Gardiner came in blissfully, thinking it was a dinner meeting arranged by Old Mr. Gardiner specifically for him and Florence to meet. But upon entering the living room and seeing so many people, he immediately understood.
He became uneasy: "Grandpa, what is this supposed to mean..."
Old Mr. Gardiner looked at him calmly: "Come here."
"Grandpa, you can’t..."
"Come here!" Old Mr. Gardiner’s voice sharpened.
Reluctantly, Luke Gardiner approached, just to see the scattered contract papers on the table, with one divorce agreement standing out conspicuously.
"The lawyers have all reviewed and connected." Old Mr. Gardiner tossed the divorce papers in front of him. "I’ve checked; everything’s fine. Just sign."
The sight left everyone who’d been handling the papers in shock.
The couple, married for three years, had almost no shared assets. Florence Fuller never spent a penny of Luke Gardiner’s money, and regarding what Gardiner Clan’s industry granted her, she had hired people to manage it without touching a cent. Even the large sum needed for her business start-up was offered by Old Mr. Gardiner.
"I’m not getting divorced." Luke Gardiner lifted his hand, ready to tear the divorce papers, but Old Mr. Gardiner snatched them away. "How much longer do you want to keep making a scene, with so many people out there watching you two? Florence has been mindful of the Gardiner Family’s face, not making a fuss, or you’d be bashed online even if the divorce couldn’t go through!"
"Let them bash!" Luke Gardiner declared. "I won’t agree to a divorce."
Florence Fuller regarded him calmly: "I can’t live happily with you, and don’t think that given enough time, I’ll change my mind. I’m not that kind of person. If you want to drag this out, we can just do our own thing separately."
"Don’t even think about it!" Luke Gardiner stood up angrily, eyeing her furiously. "I must deal with Alexander Sussex."
"Luke Gardiner!" Old Mr. Gardiner was also displeased. "Stop being so willful. Once this divorce is settled, I won’t care what you do after that. Whether the Gardiner Family lives or dies is none of my concern anymore."
He’s old and nearing the end of his days; he doesn’t wish to bear so much anymore.
The living room fell silent in an instant.
After calming down, the old man gestured to Florence Fuller: "Sign first."
Florence Fuller pulled the contract closer and decisively signed her name on the divorce papers.
The lawyer returned the contract to Luke Gardiner, turning it to the page requiring his signature.
Luke Gardiner stared at the signed name of Florence and tightened his grip without moving.
The old man, unwilling to wait any longer, looked at his secretary: "Hold him down! Sign!"
Following the old man’s directive, the lawyer disregarded the young master Luke Gardiner, pinning his arms from both sides, shoving the pen into his right hand, and pressing it onto the spot for the signature.
"Let go of me!" Luke Gardiner struggled fiercely: "Get away!"
