After Divorcing the Tycoon, I Married into a Wealthy Family Again-Chapter 75: If You Can’t Have It, Destroy It
Chapter 75: Chapter 75: If You Can’t Have It, Destroy It
Luke Gardiner’s face stiffened, and the smile vanished: "Why are you always thinking about bringing up divorce?"
Florence Fuller turned and walked into the hotel.
Luke Gardiner followed by her side: "If you’re so eager to divorce, aren’t you interested in the Fuller Family’s wealth anymore?"
"Divorce doesn’t have much to do with it," Florence Fuller said, "You think I can’t get a hold of the Fuller Family without the Gardiner Clan?"
Luke Gardiner was slightly taken aback.
It seemed he only just realized that this woman’s career ambition had always been strong, enough to often leave him out of counts.
Marrying into the Gardiner Clan wasn’t for enjoying life. She knew how to leverage power and climb higher, including now dealing with the Fuller Family. Using the Gardiner Clan was just more convenient.
There were other ways.
Luke Gardiner followed her into the elevator: "Alright, alright, you’re incredible."
Reaching the floor, the two walked toward the private room, seeing Laura Yates standing at the door from afar. Approaching, Florence Fuller slightly frowned: "Why aren’t you inside?"
Laura Yates looked uneasy, forcing a smile: "I’m waiting for you both."
Pushing the door open, they saw Michael Fuller already there. Florence Fuller understood why Laura Yates was reluctant to enter alone.
Michael Fuller’s expression wasn’t kind. Florence Fuller also guessed he probably knew about the family matters, knowing he couldn’t show a pleasant face considering how he treated Florence Fuller.
Michael Fuller sat at the head of the table, suppressing his inner emotions, replacing them with a kindly demeanor: "You’re here, sit down."
Florence Fuller directly sat opposite him.
Laura Yates sat next to her, and Luke Gardiner took the other empty seat beside her. At this point, both sides of Michael Fuller remained empty. The way they sat face-to-face, Florence Fuller’s gaze was unkind, with a hint of confrontation.
Michael Fuller’s eyes slightly tightened, still smiling: "Why sit so far away?"
"Call your lover and son over," Florence Fuller mocked without mercy: "They like being closer to you."
Michael Fuller suppressed his temper: "Florence, now’s not the time to talk about this."
"If not now, are you waiting to settle accounts with her privately?" Luke Gardiner leaned back casually on the chair: "Father-in-law, you really like playing games."
Having wife and lover under one roof, if the Gardiner Clan did such a thing, the ancestors could come back angry.
Michael Fuller’s face darkened.
"I’m sure you’re aware of what just happened at your house." Florence Fuller completely unafraid of him: "It’s impossible for this dinner to end harmoniously."
Luke Gardiner looked thoughtfully at Florence Fuller.
Laura Yates looked at her too.
"I want you to draft a will now and determine the heir!!!"
Everyone on the table was shocked!
Luke Gardiner felt this woman was truly daring.
Michael Fuller was as gloomy as clouds: "I’m still healthy, I’m not dead yet."
Florence Fuller: "Dead or not, it doesn’t stop you from making a will. Besides, you coaxed me into the marriage saying the Fuller Family would be mine in the future. Now I’m just asking you to formalize it."
Michael Fuller stayed silent, brooding.
"Or here’s a retreat for you," Florence Fuller continued: "Let me join the board."
"It’s not that simple, you think you can just join like that!" Fearful of Luke Gardiner’s presence, Michael Fuller dared not lose his temper, or he’d have thrown the bowl just then.
"Just give me the shares you gave to James Fuller." Florence Fuller casually offered a solution for him: "What, you can give it to an illegitimate son, but not to me, your legitimate daughter?"
"It’s not that simple," Michael Fuller said, playing the sentiment card: "Florence, I’m not the only one making decisions in the company, I..."
"Don’t play games with me," Florence Fuller interrupted: "You’re not drafting a will, nor letting me into the board? Fine!" She sneered: "I’ve told Grandfather Gardiner we won’t collaborate with the Fuller Clan anymore."
Luke Gardiner was shocked inside; she had already discussed this with the old master... so regarding the divorce...
Michael Fuller’s eyes narrowed tightly.
"And now..." Florence Fuller looked at Luke Gardiner: "Husband, you can arrange for the withdrawal of investments, right?"
Luke Gardiner was still contemplating when she had this conversation with the old master, and what else about the divorce...
Florence Fuller’s calling of "Husband" suddenly energized him, making him forget all distractions.
"Withdraw the investments! Of course!"
His mouth said it even as he was savoring the way she called "Husband".
"You!" Michael Fuller glared at her, pondering.
Just withdraw then, although without Gardiner Clan, the Fuller Clan is stable now.
"Of course..." Florence Fuller’s following words shocked Michael Fuller continuously: "If you don’t give it to me, I’ll bring down the Fuller Clan. Business is full of fierce competition and covert fights. If the Fuller Clan is a dish on everyone’s table, who wouldn’t want a bite?"
She intended to do it, and do it ruthlessly.
Everyone’s target was squarely on him; how long could he hold out?
"Unfilial daughter!" Michael Fuller could no longer hold back, slamming the table and standing up: "The Fuller Family did feed you for a few years, yet you’re so vicious, if you can’t have it, you destroy it."
Florence Fuller stood up: "I married into the Gardiner Clan, and the Fuller Family benefited. What did I get? You even hesitated to give that seven percent stake, if not for Old Gardiner’s demand, I would’ve gotten nothing."
"I’m not someone who gives without expecting reciprocity. Your son is well protected by you, doesn’t have to worry about anything, and can take over your company. How can it be? I can’t swallow this!"
Michael Fuller’s chest heaved with anger: "You unfilial daughter!"
"Don’t think about my mother either. The shares in her hands are with me now," Florence Fuller taunted provocatively: "Let’s wait and see, Father."
With that, she left the place.
Laura Yates quickly followed her out.
Luke Gardiner looked at the full table of dishes, untouched, then at the furious Michael Fuller, saying gloomily: "Although I might thank you for marrying Florence to me, I’m also a mess, causing her a lot of trouble. But if the Fuller Clan becomes my opportunity to claim credit, I hope you won’t mind, Father-in-law."
Michael Fuller was livid with rage, and once Luke Gardiner left, unable to contain himself, he overturned the table, unable to lift it after a couple of attempts, and smashed the dishes in front of him.
A mere daughter could now bully him to his face.
_
"Florence, Florence!" Laura Yates chased after her, the imposing manner Florence had just shown at the table with Michael Fuller was striking.
Florence Fuller stopped, looking at her.
Laura Yates clutched her bag anxiously: "I... what should I do next? My documents are all held by him, the account’s frozen too. I can’t go anywhere... I... what should I do next?" ƒгeewebnovёl_com
Florence Fuller looked at her deeply: "What do you want to do?"
Laura Yates looked at her pleadingly.
"I’ll call Clara Fuller back for you."
"No." Laura Yates grabbed her hand: "Florence, please help Mom, I... I’m at my wit’s end now..."
