After Giving Birth, All My Beast Ex-Husbands Suddenly Want Me Back-Chapter 26: Little Flower
Nina gently scratched the "little kitty" under the chin, wondering if she should give it a name.
"Mino, do you think we should name the little cat?"
The moment Mino heard that, he felt his chance for revenge had arrived.
"Its fur is short and rough—ugly as hell. How about calling it Ugly Fur? And it smells bad too, so Stinky Egg works as well."
As he said the names, Mino deliberately raised his voice toward Sal.
Nina: "..."
Did Mino have some kind of grudge against this "kitten"?
She wasn’t great at naming things herself, but those names were... really not okay.
Sal immediately flashed his little claws and bared his teeth fiercely, itching to pounce on him.
That stinking male—how dare he slander him and give him such awful names! Where was he ugly? Where was he smelly? He was the most handsome and best-scented leopard in the entire beast world!
He lightly tapped Nina with his paw, then shook his head hard, making it very clear that he absolutely refused to accept any name chosen by that stinking male.
Nina cleared her throat.
"Mino, the little kitty doesn’t seem to like those names. I’ll think of something else."
She really didn’t dare let Mino name it anymore.
Nina looked down at the markings on the "little kitty’s" fur and thought for a moment.
"How about Dotty? What do you think?"
Sal shook his head again.
That name was way too cute—completely unworthy of his mighty image.
"Then... how about Flower Roll?"
Sal: What even is a flower roll? My fur isn’t curly at all.
He kept shaking his head.
Nina frowned. This "little cat" was way too picky.
"Then I’ll call you Little Flower! If that doesn’t work, I’ll let Mino name you," Nina said, pinching the round little face in her arms.
Sal: How is that any different from the others? Why can’t she give me a powerful name?
But still—it was better than letting that stinking male decide.
Sal nodded reluctantly, looking pitiful and wronged.
Sigh. A leopard under another’s roof has no choice but to bow his head.
He had to recover his strength as soon as possible. If he kept pretending to be a cat cub, his lifelong reputation would be completely ruined.
"Alright then. From now on, your name is Little Flower."
After naming him, Nina carried the "little kitty" outside for a short walk, then put him on the bed and went to wash up in the next room. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
After Mino arrived, he took the empty room on the left, and also rented the empty room on the right from Chief Tali for Nina to use as a washroom.
Fresh from her bath, Nina smelled clean and fragrant. Sal opened his eyes, twitching his small nose.
This little female’s scent was indescribably pleasant.
Nina took out a book and leaned against the headboard to read. Sal stared curiously at the book in her hands.
What was that thing? He had never seen anything like it before. And this little female even had a precious storage space.
Beastfolk with storage spaces were either rich or noble. So why would a lone female like her come to such a desolate place? And why had she appeared near Sin City that day?
Though puzzled, Sal didn’t dwell on it. No matter who Nina really was, he didn’t care.
What intrigued him more was the thing in her hands. Acting on instinct, he tried to jump over to take a closer look—but forgot that his hind leg was injured. He kicked too hard, slipped badly, and let out a pitiful whimper in pain.
Hearing the cry, Nina hurriedly picked him up.
"You silly little cat, how do you even manage to fall off the bed?"
She checked his wounds. Luckily, they hadn’t reopened.
"Does it hurt a lot? Let me heal you."
Nina activated her ability and began treating the "little kitty’s" injuries.
She thought he was just an ordinary wild cat and didn’t guard against him, feeling there was no harm in using her power.
She wasn’t truly afraid of Mino finding out—she was simply used to hiding it.
Sal felt a warm, comfortable energy repairing his body, the pain easing almost instantly. He curled obediently in Nina’s arms, eyes half-closed in comfort.
Inside, Sal was shocked.
This little female actually had healing abilities.
Healing abilities were extremely precious in the beast world. Males were often injured in battle, and females could fall ill for many reasons—healing abilities could literally save lives.
Though he could tell Nina’s power wasn’t very strong, for a female to awaken any ability at all was already impressive.
He didn’t know that Nina’s true ability was plant-based, and healing was only a secondary effect.
Once the pain was gone, Nina withdrew her power and went back to reading.
Sal stared at the black characters on the page, his mind full of question marks.
What were those strange black symbols? How could anyone understand them? Could this little female actually read them?
Since he couldn’t understand it anyway, Sal gave up thinking about it and closed his eyes to rest.
When Nina felt tired, she prepared to sleep. To ensure good rest during pregnancy, she placed the "little kitty" at the corner of the bed.
"You’ll sleep here tonight. No running around, no making noise, okay?"
Sal nodded arrogantly. Of course I know. I’m not really a wild cat.
Seeing how obedient he was, Nina smiled in satisfaction and patted his little head.
"Alright, let’s sleep."
Before long, Nina drifted into a sweet sleep.
After she fell asleep, Sal quietly crawled closer and gently placed a paw on her belly.
My cub is in there.
Knowing Mino slept next door and wasn’t especially close to Nina, Sal became even more certain that the cub had nothing to do with him. If it wasn’t Mino’s, then it had to be his.
After all, Nina had no other males around. If the cub belonged to someone else, that male would never abandon a pregnant female.
So the cub must be his.
He crawled up and studied Nina’s face closely.
From this distance, she was truly beautiful—beautiful eyes, beautiful lips, beautiful everywhere.
Suddenly, being "robbed of his purity" by her didn’t seem quite so unacceptable.
As he watched her, Sal eventually curled up by her neck and fell asleep.
Mino kept watch for most of the night. Hearing no disturbance from the "cat," he finally fell asleep in a sulk.
Early the next morning, he got up on time to make breakfast for Nina.
Breakfast was meat porridge and stir-fried dried radish with meat. The radishes from before hadn’t been finished, so Nina and Mino had dried them to preserve them longer.
Sal took a bite of the dried radish. The taste felt strange—he didn’t like it much—so he focused on eating the meat instead.
That stinking male was mediocre in most things, but his cooking was actually pretty good. Leaving him alive to cook for the little female and the cub in the future... wasn’t entirely unacceptable. After all, Sal couldn’t cook, and other beastfolk cooked even worse.
After breakfast, Nina had nothing to do and spent some time petting the "cat." She was still very fond of the little kitty.
Wanting to reclaim some attention, Mino said,
"Nina, let’s make a cat bed for the kitten!"
That way, this annoying "cat cub" could sleep on its own in the future.
