After Giving Birth, All My Beast Ex-Husbands Suddenly Want Me Back-Chapter 44: Gone
By this time, Mino had already hunted quite a bit. Even with Aji staying behind, he didn’t dare remain away for too long. After storing the prey, he hurried back.
At the same time, Sal had already obtained the spirit pearl and was rushing back as fast as he could.
Songstone Tribe.
When Nina saw Sano suddenly appear out of nowhere, her heart skipped in alarm, a bad feeling rising sharply.
He was clearly coming for her—and he had deliberately chosen a moment when Mino wasn’t around.
Nina instinctively moved closer to Aji.
Aji and Neel both became wary. This male looked like he’d been hiding nearby and had only just revealed himself.
Miye sneered. "And you said you weren’t seducing males. Look—another one shows up. Aji, she already has a male guarding her. Are you still going to stay?"
Sano immediately chimed in, "That’s right. I’m here to take care of Nina. Aji, you can leave now. With me here, she doesn’t need you."
Nina shook her head slightly at Aji and moved even closer to him.
Seeing that Nina clearly didn’t want to be alone with Sano, Aji stepped forward and shielded her behind him. "No. I’ll stay with Nina until Mino comes back."
A dark glint flashed through Sano’s eyes. "If you won’t leave, then you can stay here forever!"
As soon as the words fell, he transformed into a massive hyena, let out a furious roar, and lunged at Aji.
"Ah!" Miye screamed in terror. Her legs gave out and she collapsed to the ground. Neel grabbed her and rolled away just in time to avoid the attack.
They were all standing very close together, and when Sano pounced, it felt to Miye as if he were attacking her directly. She was terrified—and Sano’s assault truly could have hit them as well.
Aji quickly pulled Nina aside to safety, then transformed into a cheetah and charged forward to meet Sano head-on.
"Father Neel!" Aji shouted while fighting. "Take my mother and Nina away, and call more warriors to help!"
Though the fight had only just begun, Aji already knew he was no match for Sano.
"Alright!" Neel immediately transformed into a gray wolf, preparing to take Miye away.
But Sano had no intention of letting them go for help. With one powerful swipe, he sent Aji flying, then turned and rushed toward Neel.
Miye hadn’t even managed to climb onto Neel’s back when Sano closed in.
Left with no choice, Neel shook Miye off and engaged Sano instead.
But Neel was no match for him either. Within just a couple of exchanges, he was already losing ground.
Aji scrambled back up and rushed to help. He shouted toward Nina, "Nina! Mother! Run! Head for the residential area—there are other warriors there who can protect you!"
Nina knew that staying would only slow them down. "Be careful!" she called out. "I’ll go get help!"
She gave Aji a worried look, then supported her belly and ran as fast as she could toward the residential area.
Miye also struggled to her feet and ran in the same general direction, but her legs were weak and she couldn’t move quickly.
Seeing Nina trying to escape, Sano gathered his strength and attacked Aji and Neel even more viciously, determined to defeat them at once.
He formed countless sharp blades with his ability and hurled them toward Aji and Neel, following up immediately with his claws.
Aji raised thick earthen walls to block the attack, but Sano’s power was overwhelming—many of the blades still pierced through.
Outmatched, both Aji and Neel were slashed multiple times, blood pouring freely.
Neel failed to dodge a claw strike and was sent flying, collapsing to the ground, unmoving.
Aji barely avoided the next blow, landing nearby and panting heavily.
Sano cast them a contemptuous glance, then turned and sprinted after Nina.
Seeing this, Aji forced himself up and charged again.
Ignoring the toll on his body, he raised another thick earthen wall to block Sano, then ran to Nina’s side, grabbed her, and prepared to flee.
Sano smashed through the wall just in time to see Aji carrying Nina away. Aji was faster—Sano couldn’t catch him directly. His gaze shifted instead to Miye, and a cold, sinister smile curved his lips.
Although Miye had been running in roughly the same direction as Nina, she’d panicked and veered off another way.
Sano charged at her and pinned her to the ground with a single paw.
He shouted toward Aji, who had just started running, "Aji! Put Nina down, or I’ll kill your mother right now!"
"Aji, save me!" Miye screamed in terror.
Hearing her cry, Aji turned around instantly. Seeing Miye trapped under Sano’s claws, his pupils trembled, panic flooding his eyes.
Sano had taken his mother hostage.
Aji was torn in two. He couldn’t abandon his mother—but he couldn’t bear to give Nina up either.
He froze in place, utterly lost.
"Aji, put Nina down and give her to him!" Miye sobbed. "Are you really going to abandon your own mother for a female who has nothing to do with you?"
Her cries tore at Aji’s heart.
Sano’s patience seemed to wear thin. He pressed his claws against Miye’s throat. "Aji, put Nina down—or else..."
He applied just a bit of pressure, and a thin line of blood appeared on Miye’s neck.
"Don’t!" Aji cried in horror. In the end, he gently set Nina down. "Please, don’t hurt my mother."
Sano jerked his chin toward a nearby tree. "Turn back into human form. Walk over there and lean against that tree."
"I’m sorry, Nina," Aji said, full of guilt, lowering his head as he walked toward the tree.
"It’s alright," Nina said softly. "I don’t blame you."
After all, Miye was his mother. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Her words only made Aji feel more ashamed. Each step felt unbearably heavy.
He leaned against the tree as instructed and said to Sano, "I did what you asked. Let my mother go now."
Sano curled his lips slightly and used his ability to bind Aji tightly to the tree, leaving him completely immobilized.
He kicked Miye aside, reverted to human form, and walked toward Aji.
Freed, Miye scrambled up and ran without looking back—not sparing Aji even a glance.
A sharp blade formed in Sano’s hand. "If you want me to spare your mother, then trade your life for hers."
He raised the blade high and thrust it toward Aji’s heart.
"Don’t kill him!" Nina shouted desperately.
The blade stopped right against Aji’s chest. Sano turned his head to look at Nina.
"Don’t kill him. I’ll go with you. If you kill him, I’ll never forgive you—as long as I live."
Nina couldn’t bear for Aji to die because of her. She had already guessed Sano’s true goal.
"Nina, run—don’t worry about me!" Aji cried in agony.
Sano frowned. After a brief moment of thought, he withdrew the blade.
He transformed back into his beast form, ran to Nina, grabbed her, and vanished from Aji’s sight in an instant.
Aji struggled wildly, tearing his skin until it bled, but it was useless.
His vision blurred. Scalding tears slid down the contours of his face, one drop after another.
"Nina..."
He stared in the direction she’d disappeared, whimpering softly—broken, helpless.
When Mino finally returned to the stone house, he was met with chaos.
The small kitchen lay collapsed. Tables and chairs were shattered and scattered. Blood stained the ground, and not far away lay a male whose condition was unknown.
Mino rushed to Nina’s room—it was empty. He searched the other rooms as well, but there was no sign of her anywhere.
Nina was gone.
In that instant, Mino felt his blood freeze, an overwhelming terror swallowing him whole.
