After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!-Chapter 508 - 0220 Blooming Lily Flower (Please Subscribe)_3
"I had such a great time today."
On the way back, Lily said excitedly.
"Yes, it was really fun."
Huang Kaiwen said with a smile.
"I have some good news to tell you, my application has been approved, and I’ll be going to study in Madrid later this year."
Lily said with a beaming smile.
"That really is good news."
Huang Kaiwen said, draping his arm around Lily’s shoulder.
As Ramos drove back, he occasionally glanced at them through the rearview mirror, a smile also appearing on his face.
It was after 6 o’clock when they returned to Beverly Hills.
Night had already fallen.
After parking the car, Ramos joined Huang Kaiwen in escorting Lily back home.
"Kevin?"
A woman’s voice came from behind.
Huang Kaiwen turned around and said, "Hello, Mrs. Beckham."
"You can call me Vicki, it’s so good to see you. David is transferring to LA, and we need to settle down here. I have seen many houses now, none of them really appeal to me. Beverly Hills is okay, but if we want to buy, it still requires some time..."
Vitoria rambled on.
"She’s Beckham’s wife, isn’t she?"
Lily asked quietly with uncertainty.
Primarily because Vitoria was so enthusiastic, Lily couldn’t be sure if she was the same woman with a strong presence regularly seen on TV.
"Yes, the annoying one!"
Ramos said.
Vitoria froze like a duck grasping at its throat, with all her words stuck in her neck.
Vitoria said with a forced smile, "I still have things to do, I must be going, but think about the cooperation with David, Kevin, you two are the most popular players in the world."
Huang Kaiwen nodded politely without saying a word.
He didn’t have a good impression of this woman, but he didn’t want to embarrass her to her face.
Vitoria was not far away when Ramos said, "Kevin, don’t get entangled with that family. That woman just wants to use your influence. As for her husband, he barely counts as a decent player, but he’s nothing compared to you!"
As soon as Ramos finished speaking, Vitoria, teetering on her high heels, quickened her pace as the clack of her heels and the pavement resonated.
Perhaps because she was in a hurry, Vitoria almost fell without watching her step.
"Hahaha..." Ramos couldn’t help but burst into laughter without any attempt to hide it.
Lily also covered her mouth and snickered.
She didn’t like that woman either.
"Let’s go, it’s not gentlemanly or ladylike to take pleasure in others’ misfortune."
Huang Kaiwen said with a smile.
"If you’re a gentleman, why didn’t you rush over to help her?"
Lily asked with her nose wrinkled.
"Why would I help her if I didn’t bump into her?"
Huang Kaiwen replied.
"But didn’t you say you were a gentleman?"
Lily asked, not satisfied.
"When I mentioned a gentleman and a lady, I was talking about the two of you. I’m certainly no gentleman; that’s just the newspapers talking nonsense."
Huang Kaiwen explained.
"So what are you then?"
"I’m just an ordinary person who can’t be defined by the media’s labels. People are too complex to be summarized by a simple word, right?"
Huang Kaiwen said, waving his hands with a smile.
Ramos didn’t say a word, just nodded silently.
When they reached Lily’s house, the little girl went into the yard, then ran back out and wrapped her arms around Huang Kaiwen’s neck.
Ramos turned his head to one side, sneakily peeking out of the corner of his eye.
He hadn’t expected someone who seemed as well-behaved as Lily Collins to be so enthusiastic.
...
The next morning.
Huang Kaiwen woke up to find Ramos still watching TV.
"Good morning, Sergio," Huang Kaiwen said.
Ramos really was quiet off the pitch.
Pepe was the same, and so was De Jong.
Just like the comedy actors previously mentioned, away from cameras, they were completely different from the images football and movie fans had in mind.
"Good morning, Kevin. They are talking about investment on TV; an American expert said investing in high-tech stocks will make a lot of money. I think he makes a lot of sense," Ramos commented.
Though only 20 years old, Ramos had risen to fame early and transferred to Real Madrid, earning much more than his peers.
Ramos was very interested in investments; he didn’t want to end up like those former footballers who went broke not long after retiring.
"If you want to invest, you can ask me, or I suggest you hand your money over to Nigel to manage. He has a degree in economics and I believe he owns a car company in Germany too," Huang Kaiwen suggested.
He remembered that after retirement, De Jong even managed investments for van Persie, Sneijder, and a few other Dutchmen, and apparently made some money.
In any case, it was certainly more reliable than Ramos’s investment ideas.
This guy was the kind who could bankrupt himself with his investments.
"Then I’ll ask you when the time comes," Ramos said.
He didn’t trust De Jong that much.
Even if it was a business relationship, Ramos doubted De Jong’s abilities.
They were all professional footballers; who didn’t know their own level?
Entrusting a teammate to manage finances, in Ramos’s opinion, was no different from throwing money away, except for someone as well-rounded as Huang Kaiwen, that might be an exception.
"Sure, just don’t make any investments on your own," Huang Kaiwen advised.
"I understand. If I decide to invest, I’ll ask for your advice," Ramos said with a smile.
After breakfast, Huang Kaiwen and Ramos started watching "Star Wars" together.
Halfway through, Ramos suggested, "Let’s switch to a different movie."
Huang Kaiwen, relieved, nodded and responded, "Sure, I’m not interested in this, thought you might be."
"I’m not into it either; I just thought I’d give it a try because of its fame," Ramos admitted as he sifted through the DVDs in front of the TV. "Really don’t get why Americans are so into ’Star Wars’; it’s putting me to sleep."
