After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!-Chapter 516 - 0222 The Strongest Free Agent in History (Subscription Requested)
7:45 p.m.
The Russian main referee blew the whistle to start the match.
Inter Milan quickly passed back, and Figo was pressured by Raul as soon as he received the ball.
Figo dodged with a flick of his right foot, turned to evade Raul, and Huang Kaiwen charged up.
In his panic, Figo hurriedly passed back.
Sannetti received the ball and immediately knocked it to the left wing.
Burdiso saw a gap on the right, turned, and swung his left foot to transfer the ball to the midfield line.
Stanković received the ball and was pressed by Guti, the two entangled near the sideline, Guti extended his hand to maintain balance but was still overwhelmed, and as he fell, he poked the ball behind Stanković.
Maicon took the ball, carrying it swiftly past the midfield line.
De Jong signaled, and Miguel Torres rushed up to pressure him.
Maicon dodged with his right foot, then knocked the ball, separating it from him, and with speed, he easily broke past Torres, carrying the ball diagonally through the middle.
As De Jong approached to press, Maicon again flicked with his left foot changing direction back to the right wing, advancing at high speed along the sideline.
Maicon carried the ball near the baseline, his head already up looking to make a cross.
Suddenly, he saw a figure approaching fast from the corner of his eye; before Maicon could react, Huang Kaiwen slid in cleanly from behind on the left and sent the ball out of the sideline.
The assistant referee signaled for a throw-in.
"Wow, Huang Kaiwen’s midfield play is extraordinary today; he just made a 60-meter chase back with a flying tackle that broke up Inter Milan’s attack."
"Heh, I wonder if Huang Kaiwen learned that tackle from Nesta or Cannavaro."
"Maybe it was Maldini."
"In the opening stage, Huang Kaiwen is indeed very active, gee, Inter Milan throws a throw-in and Huang Kaiwen intercepts, Cambiasso trips Huang Kaiwen."
Huang Kaiwen pulled up Cambiasso by the hand.
De Jong approached and asked, "Nothing serious, Kevin?"
"No worries, just a simple physical contact."
Huang Kaiwen said, smiling.
Miguel Torres, seeing the two had finished chatting, raised his hand and asked, "Am I starting from the backfield?"
"Go ahead."
Huang Kaiwen nodded.
Was there even a need to ask, when it’s not like taking a free kick from the front?
Torres passed back to Huang Kaiwen, who faced Stanković’s pressure, quickly turned and knocked the ball to De Jong, pushing forward himself through the middle.
De Jong knocked the ball sideways to Guti, who then lobbed it behind the midfield circle.
Aware of the landing, Huang Kaiwen chested the ball, directing it back into the midfield circle.
Sannetti immediately reached out to stop Huang Kaiwen from taking off, but during the run, Huang Kaiwen swung his arm free from Sannetti’s hand, carrying the ball quickly into Inter Milan’s half.
Maicon was positioned too far forward to chase back, and Cambiasso, not daring to hesitate, lunged with a flying tackle at Huang Kaiwen.
Huang Kaiwen tapped the ball forward with his right foot and leaped over Cambiasso’s legs.
Materazzi cleared the ball to Real Madrid’s half first, and Huang Kaiwen collided with Materazzi before he could steady himself.
"See, that’s the problem with too much speed."
Materazzi said, smiling.
"If I’m slow, I’d be afraid of not getting past you."
Huang Kaiwen retorted.
Inter Milan’s backline might not be top-notch, but the players’ mutual understanding was excellent.
"Try it then, today we’re not gonna let you find opportunities easily."
Burdiso stated.
Huang Kaiwen waived it off with a smile.
He didn’t say anything more to the Inter Milan defenders.
After all, football is still about playing.
Huang Kaiwen jogged back to the midfield.
Figo, in the front line, faced pressure from De Jong.
Seeing De Jong stretch a foot, Figo pulled the ball with his right foot creating an angle to dribble past, with De Jong not fully shifting his weight adjusting his position once again to block in front of Figo. Finding no opportunity, Figo sideways passed to Stanković.
Stanković took the ball attracting defense, then quickly passed it to the advancing Maicon.
Maicon received it but didn’t control it well, knocking the ball out.
Miguel Torres quickly moved up, collected the ball and sent it towards the middle, Figo broke out from behind the stationary Guti to collect the pass, took a couple of steps diagonally, then from a position close to the right wing, he made a cross.
The ball flew diagonally from the right towards the center of Real Madrid’s penalty area, with Pepe backing up Torres on the left, as there were no defensive players on that side for Real Madrid.
Crespo effortlessly ran into the penalty area waiting for the ball to descend.
As he jumped to meet the ball, Huang Kaiwen rushed up and headed the ball, clearing it out of the penalty area.
"Huang Kaiwen!!!"
"Huang Kaiwen has already appeared twice on the defense line today, that clearance was crucial, without him returning to the box, that could have been a chance!"
"Real Madrid counterattacks, Huang Kaiwen, who just sprinted down the field is chatting with Crespo, they were teammates back in Milan."
...
"How have you been recently?"
Huang Kaiwen asked Crespo as he pulled him up.
"Not bad, still playing in Milan City."
Crespo replied as he walked with Huang Kaiwen toward the outskirts of the penalty area.
He indeed wanted to stay with AC Milan, but after scoring more goals there, only Chelsea’s asking price went up, and in the end, the two clubs couldn’t reach an agreement.
"That’s good, at least it’s a familiar place."
Huang Kaiwen nodded.
Crespo nodded as well.
Both were resting to recover their strength.
Even those who never seemed to tire also had limits to sprint continuously.
Huang Kaiwen had sprinted that far into the penalty box and even collided and fell with Crespo; it wasn’t necessary to keep running forward wasting energy.
While the two were chatting, Cassano was dispossessed in the front field, and Burdiso quickly made a long pass targeting the front of Real Madrid’s penalty area.
Crespo started and dashed into the Real Madrid penalty area.
As most of the Real Madrid players moved forward to join the attack, now only Huang Kaiwen and El Guerra were left in front of the Real Madrid penalty area.
Huang Kaiwen seized the moment, leaned back at the edge of the big box, lifted his right leg high, and flicked the ball up; the ball’s landing spot was still nearby. Cruz surged forward and as Huang Kaiwen had no time to wait for the ball to drop again for handling, he simply shifted his whole upper body weight back, lifted his left leg rapidly downwards, and swung his right foot at the ball.
