Chapter 1819: Post-Cold Beast Mobs (Part 1)

The water stopped cascading down soon enough and after the guards confirmed that there was no more coming from higher slopes, people finally took a breath of relief.

The harsh water rundown caused a bit of damage, especially among the landscaping. A lot of shrubs, small trees, playgrounds, stalls, benches, and so on were washed out and would take a bit to repair. The houses fortunately were all in one piece, and so were their citizens.

Well, there was some interior damage to the houses of people who opened their doors while flooding, especially when the door leaf allowed for more water to come in. This caused water to flow in and the force of water made it difficult to close the door again.

Other than that, everyone seemed A-ok.

Within another hour, everyone was already outside, cleaning up. Everyone made a move, even the lazy ones. They had literally sat for weeks in the cold, they had to move!

People used their elements to do perfect jobs too. Some used their wind element to sweep the debris, the water elementalists used theirs to take away moisture, and the fire users warmed or heated things up for evaporation.

The earth users and wood users, on the other hand, helped recover the landscaping, hoping to return them to their previous glory as soon as possible.

The entire construction team was mobilized to make sure things were repaired properly, and a few more hours later everything was ready to return to normal~

The guests and many aborigines were amazed. They had never seen such a quick recovery from such floods before.

Oslo, after making trouble with his most annoying sibling, was in an infinitely good mood today.

Hey, it was like one of his life goals had been completed!

Speaking of which, although the Golds were open-minded, it was a fact that there was a deep prejudice against those into same-sex relationships. People valued procreation so much, and sometimes things that went against that challenged people’s views to the point of discomfort.

Obi was a guard who was surrounded by a certain way of thinking. To that guy, the conservative point of view was even more profound. His situation must be causing him so much confusion. HEHE

Oslo didn’t feel guilty at all. Rubbing his nose, he thought it was about time that the jerk underwent something emotionally shocking to mature.

Hence, he believed that he, the great and handsome architect Oslo, should be thanked!

He hummed as he walked along the streets, already tuning out the few stares he was receiving. He was too used to admiring and curious stares so he didn’t put any of them to mind.

He was pulled back to the present, however, when a familiar voice sounded nearby.

"Someone must’ve suffered," a voice from the side sounded and his eyes immediately brightened at the sight.

"Linlin~!"

She was in a casual sun dress (very pretty) and she was followed by a line of goblins with shopping bags.

After winter, people jumped to the summer feel, regardless of whether the weather really was like that.

Still, most jumped into the wagon because why not?

The shops, clothing stores, and so on were definitely quick to capitalize on this. They just opened up and the summer dresses were already displayed!

"I’m in the mood for shopping~" he said, looking at the little goblins following after Linlin, as always.

He grinned, acting like their real dad. "Shall we buy a lot of new clothes for the kids?"

...

While the non-fighters were helping resume the operations, the guards and other fighters weren’t exactly on break yet. While they were helping the cleanup and maybe doing a little shopping, they were on-call, ready to be deployed as needed.

Another thing that resumed after the Cold was...the beast mobs.

They started emerging at different times, waking up and adjusting again to the new temperature.

The higher leveled ones woke up first, so it was the Cities and Towns who were the busiest against monsters right after the disaster, which was good for the villages because the cold and the floods would’ve definitely taken a toll on most of them.

The monsters’ arrival varied per territory. Some arrived within an hour of the change, others a bit longer. However, it was never beyond 20 hours.

For most territories, especially villages, 20 hours was not enough to do the basic clean ups. People were tired and had been weakened from the cold. Many of them were famished, some about to die.

Lower-level people’s bodies also had difficulty with the sudden shift in temperature, making them all quite sick. Villages were hit particularly harshly.

It was not the first Extreme Cold to many but, despite knowing, their resources and knowledge were limited. All they knew were the horrors that came after.

For areas downstream, they knew they’d be flooded, and for everyone older than fifteen years old, then they also knew that there would be mobs coming by. However, despite them knowing, how much they could prepare was not much. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"Prepare for a mob attack!" The announcements resounded, trying to make people move, and most did, even if they were a bit slow due to weakness.

Soon enough—

ROAAAR!!

"Monsters!!" they yelled, tired and hungry, and some could barely hold their weapons. But what could they do? They had no choice but to fight!

In Towns and Cities, many of the most powerful monsters of their levels barraged them altogether.

These monsters would usually come intermittently, but their forced hibernation upped their bloodlust quite a bit, so mobs after the extreme cold were akin to upgrade mobs.

In Cities, a dozen level 40s and even a level 50 or two appeared!

Many of the powerhouses had to show themselves, and many volunteered. After all, after a certain level, it was difficult to find monsters around their level.

The powerhouses were fine if they worked together, and they had their walls to run in if things got too dangerous, along with the backing of others.

However, the cold was much harsher this time...and many people still fell.
