Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 292-Taking Her Our Side
Lara:
Since waking up in the morning, I have been extremely anxious.
Now that the children had been found, the weight of them had settled back into my mind. I could not understand when the day would come when I would completely get rid of them.
The way they were growing and time was passing, it felt like this sword would hang over my neck for the rest of my life.
If only my father had not been covering for them like this and had not become so emotional, their bodies might have decomposed by now, and no one would have known that I had even given birth to children.
But that was the problem. My father had grown attached to them just because of what had happened in the past.
"Lara, you did not come downstairs?" Lady Vivian called out after knocking on the door.
I grunted, staring at the door.
Sometimes, I felt like not answering at all so she would keep talking to herself and eventually leave.
But then I remembered she was the only person who was on my side for now, so I could not risk pushing her away.
Whatever it was, for now, I had to treat her well so it would not seem like I was losing her support too.
These days, I was mostly lying in my room. The moment she walked in and saw me, I forced a smile onto my lips.
She stood in the doorway, placed a hand on her chest, and smiled at me.
"I look good, right?" I asked, showing her the baby pink dress I was wearing.
"You look very beautiful. I hope Iris does not cast an evil eye on you," she replied.
The moment she mentioned Iris, my smile began to fade.
"You know, Kash left for the office without eating anything today. He did not even wake Iris up for breakfast," Lady Vivian commented, giving me insight into what was happening between them.
"And Iris probably did not go to him either. Of course not. She spends the entire day roaming around with Markus. I do not understand what she wants. She got everything she ever wished for. A handsome, powerful Alpha King, Kash. But first she was interested in Luca, and now in Markus. I am so confused," I responded dramatically, placing a hand on my forehead while watching Lady Vivian from the corner of my eye.
She looked disturbed at my words.
I knew she loved her children deeply. Whenever someone spoke about hurting them, it ignited something inside her.
And I wanted that fire to remain. In fact, I wanted it to grow so much that it would completely consume Iris.
"Anyway, let’s not talk about that. Have you had breakfast?" I asked, getting up from the couch and approaching her. I held her hand and gently placed my other hand over it.
All these small actions I was doing, I honestly did not want to. I hated Kash’s family. I found them dramatic and untrustworthy.
"No, I was waiting for you. Zoe just woke up as well, so I thought the three of us could have breakfast together," she replied.
The moment she mentioned Zoe, I began to stroke my chin.
"I actually wanted to talk to you about Zoe," I said, watching worry spread across her face.
"Is everything alright?" she asked, her eyes widening.
"How can it be alright? Zoe is sitting there unaware. Did you not see what happened yesterday? I wonder how Kash must have felt when Iris lied to his face. But I think we might be doing something wrong too," I spoke softly, lowering my gaze while watching her grow anxious and curious.
Just as expected, she began to think about it.
I tried to make her understand that giving Zoe a heads-up so she would start noticing these things herself was important. Otherwise, she would think everything appeared out of nowhere.
By the look on her face, it seemed I had convinced Lady Vivian.
She gave me a small nod.
I grabbed my phone, and together we walked out of my room.
It was time to take one more step forward.
In just a few days, Iris would be completely ruined. Her reputation would be scarred, and Kash would not be willing to look at her again.
As soon as we went downstairs, Zoe was sitting on her phone. She lifted her head from the screen, and the smile that had been on her face slowly began to fade when she saw me standing beside her mother.
I knew our relationship was not good. That was why it was important to fill her heart with hatred for Iris right now, before it became too late.
"Yes, we should wake Iris up too," Zoe suggested, almost as if she was instantly trying to put me down.
"There is no need. We are having breakfast outside in the garden to enjoy the fresh air, and I do not want to sit with Iris," Lady Vivian said firmly.
Thankfully, she put her foot down, making Zoe shake her head at her mother in disapproval.
"Come on. We planned this, why would she be invited? Besides, I need to talk to you about something," her mother added sternly, making Zoe walk out with us.
As soon as we stepped outside and had barely eaten a few bites, her mother began introducing her concerns to Zoe.
"Where has Markus been busy these days?" Lady Vivian asked while cutting her omelet with her knife and fork.
"How would I know? I did not know before, so why would I know now?" Zoe responded casually, still focused on her phone.
She had no idea. Her attention was always elsewhere, like a child. Sometimes in games, sometimes shopping for unnecessary things, because she had my husband handed to her for free and kept wasting his money.
"Do you not think you should pay a little attention to him?" Lady Vivian asked.
She was suggesting something Zoe should have done a long time ago. But for some reason, it seemed like a shocking thought to her.
Zoe lifted her head and looked at her mother in confusion.
