Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 293-Moving Fast
Lara:
"Is there something going on? If there is, then say it directly. Do not make excuses," she said.
Lady Vivian turned her head toward me.
I did not know why she was looking for my help. Had she not realized by now that her daughter would rather listen to anyone else than me?
"Actually, something happened yesterday, and that is why your mother is a little worried," I said, deciding to support Lady Vivian since all eyes were on me.
She nodded at her daughter.
"Is there a problem between you and Markus?" Zoe asked her mother, putting her sandwich down.
Her mother began taking deep breaths, as if preparing herself for whatever reaction her daughter would give.
"Something happened yesterday, and because of it, Kash is really bothered."
Wow. Lady Vivian started off strong. She chose words that immediately created tension and pulled Kash into the situation.
"Did Markus and Kash argue?" Zoe asked, no longer eating her sandwich.
"They would have, if we had not been there to calm the situation," Lady Vivian continued.
She picked up a toast and began buttering it, while her daughter’s eyes remained fixed on her.
"Look, I am not trying to create problems between you and your husband, but you need to keep an eye on him. He has been going out a lot. Not the way he used to before. This time it is different, because he is not going out alone."
Lady Vivian paused and put the toast down again.
There was constant anxiety at the table. None of us were able to eat properly. I desperately wanted to try the food, but I had to play my part and look anxious with them.
"I do not understand what you are talking about. Can you please be direct? Who is he going out with? Did you see him with some woman?" Zoe asked.
This time, her words were filled with emotion. Her tone had grown heavy.
It seemed as if she had already suspected that her husband was cheating on her. Now her mother’s words only confirmed that something was wrong.
"I did not realize you were this clueless about everything," Lady Vivian responded, clearly disappointed.
"Well, now that you have, would you like to tell me what is going on? What are you so angry about?" Zoe’s voice rose this time.
The anxiety was clear in her tone.
I mean, imagine finding out that your husband has been going out with someone else, and that is why he no longer pays attention to you.
I could almost feel bad for her, because that was exactly what had happened to me.
My happiness had been taken away from me, and Iris had done that.
And now she was taking Zoe’s happiness too.
"Yesterday, when your husband went out, he spent the entire day with someone," Lady Vivian said, steadying her voice so she could tell her daughter calmly what had happened in her absence.
"You have already told me that. Who was she?" Zoe slammed her hand on the table and asked her mother, making it clear she was exhausted with the back and forth.
"I do not think you are ready to hear her name," I said quietly.
As soon as I spoke, Zoe pointed at me.
"You stay out of it," she snapped.
The tone and disrespect made me secretly clench my fist.
"Instead of getting angry at her, you should change your attitude toward the person who actually deserves it. Lara never wishes you harm. But someone else is pretending to be innocent while sitting on your happiness," Lady Vivian snapped at her daughter, reminding her that her aggression toward me was misplaced.
The person she should have kept her guard up against was the one she had chosen to befriend. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"What are you trying to say?" Zoe demanded, her forehead deeply furrowed and her eyes narrowed.
Her mother took a sharp breath and finally said the name.
"Your husband was out the whole day shopping with Iris."
That was all she said.
Zoe leaned back in her chair. Her hands were still resting on the table. Her fingers slowly curled.
She looked at her mother first, then at me.
A sarcastic smile appeared on her face, as if she could not believe it.
"So you must have put all this into my mother’s head, right? You already hate Iris and want her out of the house."
She suddenly started attacking me with her words, forcing me to straighten my spine and look at her mother for support.
"What are you doing? Why are you blaming her?" her mother intervened.
But the damage had already been done.
Zoe had truly lost her senses. She had become irrational.
She believed Iris was her only friend.
That was fine.
I was waiting for the day when Iris’s truth would come out in front of her.
I wanted to witness the downfall of all three of them.
"I saw it myself," Lady Vivian finally confessed to Zoe. "Your husband admitted it in front of Kash. They came together. Iris tried to enter the house before Markus, but Markus told the whole truth."
Lady Vivian revealed everything, and I watched Zoe’s face lose its color.
It was satisfying.
The look of pain and betrayal on her face said everything.
"Not just that. Iris and Markus have also been meeting in secret. And I know you will not believe me, so I can show you proof," I said, getting up from my seat and grabbing my phone.
Lady Vivian immediately stood up beside me.
Zoe stepped between us and snatched the phone from my hand.
She stared at the screen, watching how Iris and Markus were standing close together. Iris was leaning into his space, looking at magazines, even at his phone.
"This is nothing," I mumbled.
"I have seen them sneaking out of the backyard as well. Actually, Kash saw them. And your husband ran away while Iris acted nervous," I added.
As I finished speaking, I lifted my head.
I saw Iris standing by the window, watching us.
There was fear on her face.
She had probably realized that we were talking about her.
