Alpha's replacement bride is destined mate-Chapter 230: I want to hear all you have to say about us
Emily was just going to return Klaus’ jacket, but she did not expect to bump into Adam and Klaus negotiating.
Great, now she’s a bargaining chip for the two men. Emily was a little angry that she had to stop them acting so foolishly.
She took a deep breath and then said to Adam, " Adam, I know what you are doing is for my sake. But I am not a kid and I can take care of my own business. So will you please stop meddling in my affairs?"
Adam gave a hesitant look when he heard that, but finally he nodded his head and said, "Okay."
" Now, can you give me and Klaus a moment alone?" Emily said.
" Okay." Adam got up and went away.
Klaus gave Marx a look, and Marx left the room.
" Now it’s just us. " Klaus looked at Emily with anticipation in his eyes," So, what’s your decision?"
Emily sighed softly, " Klaus, you are the father of this baby and I have no right to take away your power as a father. But I cannot stay in the North."
" Why?"
Emily looked up at Klaus, " Red moon pack is my hometown, and it is my duty to rebuild the pack. So I will not leave there until the pack is rebuilt."
" Then will you still come to the north after the pack rebuild is complete? " Klaus asked tentatively.
"I don’t know, Klaus." Emily’s tone was filled with uncertainty, " Maybe."
" Maybe?" Klaus’s eyes were full of doubt.
"I can’t give you a definite answer right now. " Emily said distractedly, "Maybe when I have feelings for you one day we can."
"I know. " Klaus interrupted Emily, "You don’t have to say anything, I can wait."
Emily bit her lower lip a little. After a while, she gathered her courage and took the picture out of her pocket." I found this picture in your jacket pocket. I wanted to. Maybe you could tell me a little bit about where this picture came from."
" You want to know the story about this photo?" Klaus’s voice was soft, with a hint of uncertainty. So he asked again, " You want to know about our past?"
Emily’s eyes drooped, and she nodded.
" Oh." Klaus suddenly responded, a hint of joy mixed in with his incredulous expression, " Sure, I can tell you about our past. I..."
Klaus looked a little incoherent from his excitement, " I.... Where should I start?"
" Let’s start with this picture." Emily said.
" Yes." Klaus adjusted his breathing, and when he had calmed down he began to tell Emily the story of the photograph.
Emily listened to Klaus in silence. The orange light poured over them, and their bodies moved slowly nearer without their being aware of it.
The snow fluttered noiselessly outside the window, as if it would not stop.
..............
South, Red Moon Pack.
Seven months later, the rebuilding of the pack is finally over. In honor of the day, Emily hosted a celebratory dinner, to which she invited the other alpha males and members of the pack.
The party was held in the open air on a grassy field. As night fell, the stars, like sparkling jewels set in the vastness of the heavens, shed a soft light. In the heart of the meadow a roaring bonfire blazed merrily, its orange flames licking the night sky. A rustic, sturdy wooden table was surrounded with sumptuous viands, perfumed with tempting aromas, with tender, succulent roast meats, the oil bubbling and golden under the flames; There are also a variety of fresh fruits and exquisite snacks, which are colourful and mouth-watering.
A few young men were sitting around a camp-fire with guitars, and the girls were dancing with delight. Emily was in the public gallery, and she looked with relief at the beautiful picture before her.
" Congratulations, Emily," Adam said as he came over to Emily, a cocktail in his hand. " The red moon pack is better than ever after you rebuilt it."
"Thanks for your support. " Emily smiled, "Otherwise the rebuild of the pack wouldn’t have been completed so quickly."
Now that King James had given all power to Adam, the rebuilding of the pack would not have gone so well had he not poured money and men into the rebuilding of the Red Moon pack.
"You’re welcome, sister. " Adam took a sip of his cocktail as he absently glanced at Emily’s stomach, "If I remember correctly, you’re due soon, aren’t you?"
"My due date is next week. " Emily replied.
Just thinking about it made Emily feel a little nervous. Although Mrs. Bauer shared her experience of giving birth with Emily, Emily was still not mentally prepared for this.
" Don’t be nervous, I will accompany you into the labor room if you need me." Adam was reassured.
" Thank you very much." Klaus’ low and unpleasant voice came from behind." As the father of this child, I will accompany Emily into the delivery room."
Emily was a little surprised at Klaus’s presence. After all, it was only this morning that Klaus had told her that he was going to the West on official business. She had not expected to see Klaus in the pack to-night.
"How did you know it was you she needed and not me? " Adam said, rolling his eyes at Klaus.
"What baby have you ever seen that the first thing they see at birth is their uncle and not their father. " Klaus said sarcastically.
" Oh, again." Emily said helplessly, " Why do you guys fight whenever you see each other?"
"I’m going dancing. " Adam said, putting his glass down as he headed towards the girls who were dancing.
"Actually, You didn’t have to come all this way." Emily looked at Klaus’s somewhat tired face, and she guessed that he must have just arrived after attending to business.
Ever since Emily had returned to the pack, Klaus had often come over from the northern border to visit her at the pack. Because of this, the southern border had to be made an exclusive route for Klaus. And Klaus was happily shuttling back and forth between the north and south.
"I will stay here from today until your due date." Klaus said.
" Don’t you need to take care of official business?" Emily asked curiously.
" You and the baby are more important than taking care of official business." Klaus glanced at Adam, who was dancing in the crowd, "I’m not letting another man walk you into the delivery room."
Emily shook her head helplessly. At that moment Marx hurried up to Klaus, and whispered something in his ear. Immediately, Klaus’ brow furrowed and he said to Emily, " I need to leave to attend to an urgent matter."
" Go about your business." Emily said.
"I don’t trust you here alone. " Klaus said and instructed Marx," You go get Dolly and come over here with Emily."
"Oh, come on. I am not a child. " Emily said, "Besides, this is my pack. I’ll be fine."
"You’re not a kid, but you’re a pregnant woman approaching her due date. " Klaus emphasized.
Soon after, Marx brought in Dolly. Klaus instructed Dolly, "Please take care of Emily until I get back."
"No problem. " Dolly’s face was flushed from the alcohol, but she was conscious.
Klaus nodded and left with Marx. At that moment, a man with dyed green, yellow and red hair approaches Dolly and asks her to dance, but Dolly politely declines.
"If you want to go dancing, go ahead and leave me alone. " Emily couldn’t bear the thought of Dolly losing her chance to be alone with the opposite sex by accompanying her.
"That’s okay, I can wait until Klaus gets back before I go dancing. " Dolly shrugged," Besides, I don’t like men who dye their hair like a rainbow."
"I’m a little tired. I want to go home and rest. " Emily’s back was a little sore from standing for so long, and she planned to go home and rest.
"I’ll accompany you back. " Dolly just finished speaking. Her face flushed for an instant, and even her breathing quickened.
"What’s wrong with you, Dolly?" asked Emily with concern.
"I sensed my mate. " Dolly said excitedly.
"Oh great. " Emily was happy for Dolly, "Go get him." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"But I can’t leave you alone. " Dolly worried.
"I’ll be fine. " Emily urged, "Go get him, quick."
Dolly hesitated for a few seconds, but decided to go in search of her mate.
So Emily went home alone. She walked along the silent path, where the dim, dull street-lamps at the side of the road glowed faintly. The noise of the party behind her subsided like a tide, until it was entirely swallowed up in the darkness, which drew farther and farther away from her.
At that instant a dark figure, like a ghost, flashed in the dim light, and Emily had not time to react before she felt a coldness at her back, and a dagger of icy light was pressed firmly against her. The bone-chilling cold seared through her dress, and made her body tense for an instant.
A woman’s cold and emotionless voice came from behind Emily like an ice blade: "Don’t scream, if you don’t want to die."
