An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 34: Sword and the gate
Chapter 34: Sword and the gate
Riven kept his eyes down as he went down the stairs. He knew that if he wasn’t careful here, it could end badly for him.
The first floor of the dungeon in any dungeon was mostly seen as a tutorial floor. Most of the adventurers really started their adventuring on the second floor.
After getting through the stairs, Riven landed on the second floor. The damp, musty smell of wet rock got stronger, but unlike the first floor, the walls of the cave were smoother and straighter.
The entire floor had many pathways to follow. He randomly picked one side and headed in that direction. After a few minutes of walking, five goblins came out of nowhere, charging at him with rusted weapons.
"Goblins are still on the second floor," he said casually. He pulled his leg back and got into a stance. With his sword in hand, he waited for the right time.
When the goblins were within a good striking range, he moved. His feet kicked off the ground. He covered a large distance in a short burst and slashed down immediately.
His sword cut through the first goblin without resistance. The goblin’s body fell to the ground. He took a step back to make sure that he was not encircled, and then he attacked again, killing the goblins easily, one by one.
Their crystals lay on the floor. He picked them all up and put them in his bag. He was about to walk away when a sharp whistle sound headed toward him.
He looked up, but it was too late. An arrow plunged itself into his left shoulder. His eyes widened in shock as pain shot through his entire body in that moment.
He stumbled backward, gritting his teeth and looking in the direction that the attack had come from, and there he saw three goblins standing with arrows in their hands, ready to shoot again.
Riven dropped his sword from his right hand and used flame blast. He knew that if he didn’t attack now, they would riddle him with holes.
The fire cut through the air, and though his target was off and it hit the wall, the explosion still pushed them, slamming them into a wall and leaving them heavily injured.
Riven fell to the ground after the attack. He groaned in pain as he looked at the arrow embedded into his shoulder.
"Shit, I wish Liam was still following me around. Shit like this wouldn’t happen," Riven complained. He used his right hand to grab the arrow shaft. He closed his eyes, bit his lips, and pulled the soon out.
"Arghhhhhhhh."
Immediately the bloody arrow was out, he used his finger to tear through the fabric that the arrow had pierced through, and he made a flame on his finger.
The fire seared his skin. He cried in pain on the ground as he did that. He kept going until the wound was closed enough. His eyes half rolled back, he was sweating bullets already. His breathing was hectic.
"I shouldn’t have to be going through this type of shit," he complained again. He stayed on the ground for a while and rested completely. He got up and dragged himself toward the injured goblins.
He looked down at them, disdain dripping from his eyes. He formed a blood scythe in his hand and cut off their heads one by one.
When they were all dead, their bodies decomposed. He picked the crystals up and placed them into his bag. He carried his sword and was about to go deeper, but footsteps from behind pulled his attention.
He turned around to see three men, each wearing leather armour and holding short swords. But that was not what pulled his attention; it was the symbol he immediately spotted on the hilt of the swords—a sword stabbing through a gate from the top.
He knew that symbol. It was the symbol for a dungeon diving organization. It was one funded by some nobles to get rich off the dungeons. They hired warriors and fighters, mages and anyone they could use.
These people would go into dungeons and do whatever it took to gather the resources and treasures, even if it meant taking it from the weaker people.
They were very despicable and hated in the story, but because of their backing, all their crimes were covered carefully—until the hero finally took them down.
The issue here was that they were not supposed to make an appearance in the story until the end of the first series.
Riven immediately turned to leave. He knew that if he stayed too much, it wouldn’t end well for him, but it was already too late.
"Hey kid, we saw you take out those goblins. The dungeon is a dangerous place, you know, especially for a kid. Hand over your crystals and we will keep it for you," the man in the middle spoke. He looked down at Riven, his face carrying a smug expression.
’I seriously didn’t want to do this. If I die inside of a dungeon, my body might never be found. I don’t know their strength as well. Fighting blindly will mean the death of me,’ Riven thought. He came to the conclusion that his best option was to run.
He looked at the wall and suddenly used flame blast on the wall. He didn’t attack them, because while that might do some damage, they would come at him to kill, and he might not escape that.
The wall exploded, and Riven ran. He pushed as fast as he could, hoping he would see other adventurers or a party, because that way, these men might not kill him. freewёbnoνel.com
He heard their furious shouts coming from behind him, but he didn’t look back. He ran as fast as possible. They got closer with very few meters, because they were faster than him, and there was no party in sight.
Finally, Riven saw an adventurer—a young man. He caught up to the young man and thought those men would stop, but a flame arc came out of nowhere, slashing the head of the man clean off. Riven’s eyes widened in shock.
