Angel Monarch-Chapter 435: The War for Antarctica (5)
Chapter 435: The War for Antarctica (5)
Xinya could barely look down at the disgusting piece of filth. A disgrace to humanity. Something any sane person would exterminate.
She stood a few meters away from Slayer, as he continued eating the poor dead Stellar’s heart. The wind whipped her silvery-white hair, yet she stood still, careless for the environment.
Around them, Master Hu’s giant dragon corpse laid still. His head fell more than a kilometer away, destroying a massive mountain.
A layer of blood covered the ground. The fight of the Stellars pushed the storm away from the area, leaving everything rainless.
Far away thunder echoed and lightning danced, but Xinya’s gaze stayed fixed on the terrifying man wearing his own skin.
Slowly, he stood up, wiping his lips with his bloody hands. His hood shadowed most of Slayer’s face, except those wide, revolting, blood-covered lips.
He licked the fresh blood off his lips while staring at Xinya with curiosity. It felt like a predator examining its next prey, preparing for the eventual chase!
"Your name is Xinya right? Did I remember correctly? I’m not great with names, you know. I can’t even remember my own... Faces don’t help either. You all look the same to me..."
Slayer took one step closer, appearing right next to Xinya, way too close for her comfort. He leaned in and whispered right into her ear.
"You’re nothing but walking pieces of meat, waiting to be tasted and devoured!"
A shiver went along Xinya’s spine, while her stomach churned. She tasted bile in her throat, yet her face remained emotionless and unreadable. She took one step back slowly and scoffed at Slayer.
"You smell disgusting... Anyway, you had your fun. Let’s continue searching for the Princess and the Prince!"
After saying those words, she swiftly turned away. She took a few deep breaths, calming herself, then she shouted into the surrounding dark night.
"Everyone gather up! We’re leaving!"
Suddenly, she felt something approaching her neck. Xinya turned again, this time much faster, while drawing her dao.
The dark blue blade cut through the air until it met resistance. Blood and Slayer’s head flew into the air as the dao passed through the man’s seamlessly... This would’ve happened at least, but Slayer already knew the future!
He let his hand fall and leaned back just enough to avoid most of Xinya’s blade. Its tip still cut a line across the scary man’s throat... Exactly how he wanted!
With one finger, he gently touched the bloody line. He then raised the finger to his lips, licking off his own blood while the wound on his neck fully healed.
The Slayer tasted the blood for a few seconds, then spat on the ground. He made a disgusted face and cursed under his breath.
"Damn, even I taste awful compared to Stellars! Such a shame! My infinite food source is gone!"
Xinya filled with both curiosity and severe disturbance by Slayer’s statement. She kind of wanted to ask further, yet feared the knowledge she might gain from such inquiry.
Insight was a double-edged sword, which could lead to enlightenment or madness. Instead of risking making herself vomit, Xinya stayed in the tranquil shadows of naivety.
Behind them, a small squad of Transcended came closer. Chang was among the troops, not at all disturbed by the surroundings.
They went out to explore Master Hu’s corpse. He obviously wasn’t alive, but they needed to gather evidence for the other Masters and for Xinya’s mentor.
Chang walked up to Xinya and Slayer, his boots making squishing sounds as his foot sunk into the bloody earth below.
"Hey, Boss! We’re ready to leave if you’re!"
He didn’t even glance at Slayer standing nearby. In truth, his presence alone nearly caused Chang to piss himself. He didn’t find the smell and questionable clothing too disturbing, but the man’s smile was enough to send him reeling.
To his utter dismay, Slayer seemed to smell the fear of others, so he always stayed way too close to Chang. His body shivered just from the psychopath’s presence.
Xinya glanced at him with an emotionless, bored expression and nodded. Quickly, her sword slashed through reality and opened a portal.
They all went through, leaving both dead Stellar behind in the graveyard they dug for themselves.

The fights near the six city-states were coming to their end. Most repelled the enemy with relatively few casualties, but still close to a million friendly Evolved died all across Antarctica.
The Stellar fights all ended in either stalemate or with Antarctican victory. However, other than Cass and Hu, nobody else died.
The war was seemingly close to its end. At least, that’s what Henry believed. He stood above the map, watching over the battlefields.
Nearby, Vicky sat with her eyes closed. She controlled hundreds of different portals all across the continent.
Her job wasn’t just logistics. With the arrival of the continent spanning storm, she also used her portals for communication.
Other than the Prince and the Princess, only one more person stood inside the large conference room. Bea watched over both teenagers, prepared to kill any unexpected attacker.
"Hey, Vicky. Did you receive any news from Cass?"
The Princess didn’t answer. Her focus was solely on her portals. However, she opened a small portal near Henry that led straight to David.
"David, do you know anything about Cass? Every other Stellar has already come back to their city-state except her!"
The bald man gazed into the portal with tired eyes. His sweaty, black skin glistened under the constant lightning in the sky. He stood under a ledge, so at least the rain wasn’t hitting him.
"We know nothing, but their battle stopped about an hour ago. Most enemy forces are currently being routed by Leslie and Sarah. But, with how many deserters and prisoners we have... We can’t send anyone into the mountains to search for Cass!"
David clearly wasn’t happy about this development, but there was nothing he could do. He always followed protocol, and as a leader, he couldn’t abandon the city to look for his lover.
The best he could do is hope and trust that Cass’s fine. Even though his intuition was screaming at him to act.
Henry sighed and shook his head upon hearing David’s words. However, before he could’ve answered, a scratchy voice echoed inside the conference room.
"Is this Cass perhaps an alluring, purple-haired, pink-eyed beauty? I might’ve come across her... She was tasty!"
Both Henry and Bea turned towards the voice’s owner, a man dripping with rainwater and blood, wearing a strange, blood-red robe. He had a hood on, which covered everything other than his creepy, too-wide grin.
Xinya and a dozen others came through the portal as well, Chang included. The cowboy’s blood-red eyes instantly lit up upon seeing Bea standing near the door.
Across the military compound, in which the conference room was located, alarms began blaring, marking the unauthorized opening of portals.
Henry and Bea stayed expressionless, while Vicky’s eyes still hadn’t opened.
Slayer took a few steps closer. He seemed confident, but not prideful enough to attack without more knowledge.
He knew about everyone’s ability and knew how dangerous these two Transcended were. However, only one of them had an actual counter to his ability... The Prince!
Henry, being an Ascended, didn’t change how dangerous he was. Slayer would rather not fight against him, since he couldn’t guarantee victory like against the other two.
"Everyone currently available. Portals opened all across the capital’s military compound and the other four armies are currently pouring in. We require immediate assistance!"
The Princess’s voice echoed inside the conference room. She spoke straight into a small portal, which carried her voice to every Antarctican army.
Afterward, she immediately began opening portals. Both Asian and Antarctican armies arrived and began fighting.
Slowly, Vicky’s white eyes opened. She glanced around the room until her eyes landed on Slayer.
Strangely, her spatial perception couldn’t recognize his presence, like he was a ghost, or maybe his passive ability blocked her power.
Either way, she could easily tell that this creepy man was extremely dangerous. His smile caused a deep terror to ignite in Vicky’s heart, but her face stayed perfectly emotionless and bored.
"Mom, we’ll need Alyrine and Kastral. Too many enemies are pouring inside, and I’ll need time to close every portal!"
Bea nodded at her daughter’s words without taking her eyes off of Slayer. In her mind she sent a message to her mount, and a few seconds later both hippogryphs arrived with sonic booms echoing across the city.
The military compound’s foundation shook as the carnage outside vastly increased. Different roars, screeches, screams and shouts resounded as people transformed and massacred each other.
As the conference room shook, everyone draw their weapons, prepared to fight and kill their enemies... Everyone except Slayer.
The madman simply spread his arms wide, then laughed while staring up at the room’s ceiling. A second later, large cracks appeared all over the roof, and it collapsed right on top of them.
While the debris fell into the room, Vicky teleported Bea and Henry away, leaving everyone else to be crushed by the rubble.
Outside, the Princess and her family gazed down at the surrounding chaos.
Heavy winds whipped everyone, sending raindrops flying at uncomfortable speeds. Lightning arced around the sky and hit the ground every few seconds. The constant sound of thunder reverberated in the people’s bones.
Below, lots of different lights and projectiles hit each other. Through the night’s darkness, people could barely tell friend from foe.
However, throughout the chaos, destruction and thunder, a single sound reached Vicky’s ear... Insane person’s laughter!
