Chapter 966: Eliminating the Enemy

"Hahaha. I hope we are not too late. As the general of the country, I can’t let our rising star get attacked without fighting back, can I?"

Clovis couldn’t help but widen his eyes. He truly didn’t expect General Sanders to appear here. In the first place, he had asked them to continue hunting and didn’t pay attention to the scoreboard anymore.

Looking at their numbers, it was clear that General Sanders first regrouped with the people from their allied country and somehow tracked his location. No, it was more accurate that they had been following his markers.

After all, Clovis had been leaving behind marks all over the area, and if they just followed the markers, they would eventually find him.

Still, he didn’t expect General Sanders would come at this time.

"To think that the situation is much more complicated than anything I could have imagined." General Sanders shook his head helplessly.

"Well, let’s get it started, shall we?" General Sanders smiled before waving down his hand. "Kill them all!"

With the sudden reinforcement, the battlefield situation changed again.

Jun was looking at his current position with a horrified expression.

’What’s going on? How could he do almost everything?’ Jun couldn’t comprehend what was going on. First, Clovis showed a trump card that no one had ever seen before.

Then, Clovis expected their ambush and turned the situation around, forcing him to call for his reinforcements.

His reinforcements should be more than enough to crush him, but he actually used the beast wave that was supposed to become a wall to encircle him to his advantage.

Last but not least, the situation for the Prophet’s group was not good. At this rate, they would fall down one by one.

Gerald was already approaching them with the six families, while Kaen was holding the line. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

And with this reinforcement, Clovis would receive at least 200 people, with six Tier 8 humans leading them.

Everything felt as if it had been calculated precisely to counter everything he had prepared.

Jun panicked. At this rate, everyone would go down, and he would follow right after.

"No. I can’t die."

Clovis raised his hand, shouting, "Attack them!"

Sanders was closing in on the enemy with a huge number.

The Tier 8 man couldn’t help but grit his teeth. The situation was not in their favor. They had two choices. The first would be a full-scale retreat. The second would be an all-out attack against Clovis’s team and possibly try to take some of them down with them.

They didn’t know whether it was possible or not. Clovis’ team was not ordinary. With the secret items they got from Clovis, it was hard to take even one of them down, especially not when they had become a Tier 7.

Clovis had also turned around and charged at them. With Gerald bringing the rest of the team, it would be impossible for them to escape.

But this was when Melody placed her trap.

"Sir. There is an opening." One of them noticed a narrow gap for them to escape.

Ragna was the wall, but the rest of the fighters leaned to one side, creating a gap between them and Clovis.

If they wanted to exit, they had to take it immediately.

The Tier 8 leader gritted his teeth. It was true that he could take some of them down, but there might be another important mission they needed to complete.

This was not a failure. This was a success in figuring out Clovis’ true strength.

If they could just get out of here alive and pass this message to the Prophet, the Prophet would know what kind of monster he was facing.

’Clovis Hacfield is like Michael and Lily Hacfield combined. No, he might even surpass them.’

So, the leader gave an order. "On me!"

The man took the lead to escape from this encirclement.

Little did he know, this was a trap that Melody had set. As someone who had been fighting Clovis in a strategic battle, Melody had grown as the captain of the team. Now that she could focus as an operator, she didn’t have any pressure that would hinder her from coming up with a plan or two.

The enemy didn’t realize that the reason the fighters around Ragna were leaning on one side was because Aileen was on Christina’s side, not Ragna’s.

Aileen immediately got an order to disappear and kill them from behind.

In addition, the moment they exited the encirclement, Kanaria, Rin, and Angelia started bombarding them.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

They had to face a serious barrage of attacks that would kill at least half of them down, especially with the harassment coming from Jay, Erwin, and Reolf.

Christina also pushed forward, trying to pick the people at the very back. Christina prevented them from escaping by using her Provoke.

Unfortunately, she could only get seven people in total. Even then, her Provoke could only last for a while.

Still, that was enough for Gerald to catch up.

"Shadow Guards and the Six Families. We’ll chase after them." Gerald gave a nod to Clovis as if he was saying, ’Leave the rest to us.’

With half of the enemies already taken down, Gerald’s force should be more than enough to hunt them down.

Clovis turned around and said, "We will have to reorganize our group. We’ll overwhelm the enemy with numbers and coordinate with RAID and General Sanders. Melody?"

"Understood." Melody nodded. "Give me five seconds."

"Done."

A new route appeared in the Skyglasses. Melody intended to split the group into two. The first group would hunt down the humans while the other would kill the beasts.

"By the way, I’ve got what you want." Melody smirked.

"!!!" Clovis widened his eyes and turned his head to the right, seeing an unconscious chimpanzee lying next to her.

Even Clovis didn’t expect Melody to take care of the side job in the middle of the mess. He didn’t know when Melody had even done it.

It looked like Melody’s ability had been upgraded to a whole new level. He didn’t think it was just because of him.

’Don’t tell me... The system...’ Clovis suspected the system that appeared two days ago was the reason. Nevertheless, he couldn’t say anything about it for the time being. "Got it. Take care of that chimpanzee for now. Thanks."

Melody gave an ’OK’ sign.

This was supposed to mark the beginning of the end of the battle, but Angelia suddenly said, "Kanaria Renvolt, Rin Len. I’m sorry, but I think I need to go somewhere else."
