Chapter 116: Perfection By Irene

Atlas’ eyes were on an arena he had found in the viewing window. He could see Irene standing in the arena and a student named Olivia standing across from her.

Both students were first-year students. The excitement and fear were clearly evident on both girls’ faces. But of course, Atlas was sure who was gonna win.

Many monsters were mindless without the slightest intelligence, yet humans or other races were not like that.

Even students who managed to pass round three, four, or even round five of the arena exam could be defeated by the first person they faced in the arena exam.

Intelligence would be the deciding factor in most cases.

Especially if the combatants were mages.

Irene had a special fighting style. A truly incredible style that Atlas had failed to replicate even after all these years.

She had a tactic that made her mind-bogglingly complex and allowed her to read every move of the battle, every breath her opponent took, their blood pressure, muscle movements and more.

A young girl who made potions that could be detonated. A hyper-intelligence who could transfer her magic to the bow she used and then to the arrows, using the magic as if it were the aura itself.

This was something Atlas had never learnt. Something he couldn’t even when he tried countless times.

When Irene entered the battlefield, that battlefield was no longer a normal battlefield, but a chessboard with hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of soldiers.

What would happen if such a person entered a normal arena for a normal duel?

Even though Irene was afraid, everything was already under control. Even from Olivia’s gaze, it was already decided that she would be the victor.

As soon as the duel was initiated, Olivia moved and then began to chant her magic while moving.

She planned to distract Irene by moving so that she could land a direct hit when her spell was ready.

This would, of course, be an incredibly good tactic for an inexperienced person against someone who might have difficulty defending herself.

Yet this was the Hero Academy Globe itself.

The existence of this academy was to train perfect or near-perfect heroes.

Among these would-be heroes were geniuses in the mind-boggling fields of combat, alchemy, hit-scope, aura, magic, and more.

Irene was one of them.

She was a woman who earned the rank of the most perfect alchemist in history in the collapsed future and directly received the rank of [Tactician of the Gods] through oracles sent by the gods themselves to the churches.

She was even more intelligent than Atlas and perhaps one of the few people Atlas himself respected, loved and envied with all his heart.

As Olivia moved, Irene instantly tore one of the potions she had tied to her belt from her belt and then sent some of the mana in her body into the potion, sending it flying to the ground.

"PISSSSS!!!"

A deep whistling sound was instantly heard around the arena and therefore around the coliseum, and indeed almost everyone’s eyes turned to the arena where Irene and Olivia were fighting.

As soon as the potion exploded and the sound was heard in the arena, a fog immediately descended on the arena. It was like you couldn’t see a thing.

Olivia was starting to get stressed.

Smiles began to form on the main dais of the Colosseum. fгeewebnovёl.com

Bellatrix in particular got up from her seat and then carefully began to watch the arena from the dais she was standing on.

"You like her, don’t you?" Cordelia questioned.

When Bellatrix heard this question, she said, "The girl has great potential. I don’t question the might of the Academy, but she should continue to train under me. She might even be a better alchemist than me in the future...Irene that girl is..."

Even Bellatrix didn’t realise how much these words shocked the others sitting on the main dais. The ancient woman just continued to watch the duel with pleasure.

Indeed she was.

Such a low-level potion would normally just dissipate and be gone, the only way to use such a potion on a real battlefield would be to detonate tens of thousands of these potions at once. But Irene had chosen this potion specifically for use here.

The magic inside the barrier created by Constantine around the arena was so perfect that it supported the formula that was spilling out of the potion.

That’s why that sound came out the moment the potion exploded.

Irene started the reaction and the perfect magic created with the huge mana around began to support the formula of the potion.

"Where is it? Where is she?" Olivia questioned herself. Instantly, the young girl stopped in her tracks, shooting flames all around her and aiming to hit Irene somehow.

It was futile, though. All Olivia had done was give away her position.

"CREEEK!"

The sound of Irene drawing the bow was heard.

"TSSSK!"

The string was pulled to the end.

The fear and adrenaline in Olivia’s heart were increasing by the second, and the fire element she was emitting was getting weaker and weaker, even though her mana was draining the water, it still didn’t stop emitting fire.

At that moment, what Atlas and everyone watching were waiting for happened:

"TWANG!"

The arrow on the bow was released.

"VSHHH!"

The arrow released from the bow made a sound as if it was whispering in the air, and the arrow itself had hit its target.

At that moment, the fog in the arena disappeared, revealing the arrow lodged in Olivia’s head, and the two were sent out of the arena.

When Irene was sent to the waiting room to wait for her next duel, she quickly went to Atlas and then sat down.

The huge cheering sounds coming from outside the waiting room were indeed remarkable and interesting. Irene had not expected such cheering.

"Well done," Atlas said normally.

Little did she know, though, that this compliment meant more to Irene than all the cheering from the outside. Irene had received a compliment from her dear friend, after all.
