Chapter 123: Atlas VS Camellya (2)

"HAVE A GOOD DUEL!"

As soon as those words were spoken, Atlas slammed his staff down on the arena floor and calmly muttered, "Dead Plains."

As he did so, a thirty-metre radius of the arena was instantly filled with rotten, withered, dead flowers.

Camellia could feel some of the power draining from her body.

Atlas didn’t stop there, though.

"Night’s Flow." Atlas chanted, and as the degree of power in his body increased, he pointed the staff in his hand directly at Camellya and then chanted "Dark Line."

Camellya created an incredibly powerful mana shield as soon as she heard these words, and at that moment, the thin but incredibly fast dark magic coming out of Atlas’ staff hit her mana shield.

"CRASH!!!"

The mana shield was broken in just a single attack.

There was no way to describe the astonishment on Camellya’s face.

A Fourth-Grade mage had shattered a Seventh-Grade spell with just one spell.

Yet Camellya was already thinking about her next move. As Atlas broke her spell, Camellya raised her hand to the sky, and the rapidly gathering electrified clouds began to shoot normal lightning bolts across the arena floor, as if they were aimed at Atlas.

The colour of the lightning strikes was bluish. It was obvious that they were normal lightning.

This was enough to tell that Camellya still hadn’t figured out Atlas’ attack pattern. This was to Atlas’s advantage because he had watched Camellya’s duels one after the other while he was sitting in the waiting room.

That’s why he knew that Camellya was trying to end his mana.

This meant that Atlas could now make his move and attack directly.

"Starry Night," Atlas muttered.

He instantly threw the Blessed’s Staff into his inventory and then brought out his holy sword, saying "Goddess’s Fury." He increased his power.

The level of his aura instantly increased to level five, and he said "Night’s Step" using every bit of power in his body.

At this moment, he had reached a speed superior to the speed spells that a sorcerer who had formed perhaps the seventh or even the eighth magic ring would use.

He instantly took a step forwards and literally pierced the lightning bolts that were travelling towards him with his speed.

He closed the gap of almost five hundred metres between the three steps he took, and before anyone knew what was happening, he had plunged the holy sword in his hand directly into Camellya’s chest.

"COUGH!!!" ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

Camellya instantly vomited a handful of blood.

At that moment Atlas pulled the holy sword out of her chest and with that Camellya fell to the arena floor.

At that moment Camellya was thrown out of the arena.

In just thirty seconds, Atlas managed to defeat Camellia, while was worried about being defeated.

The referee couldn’t understand what was going on and looked at Atlas with puzzled eyes.

"A---Atlas Shorekeeper is the winner of the arena exam!" the referee suddenly shouted.

With that, continuous cheers began to come from the seats of the coliseum.

Even the Sages, except Cordelia and Cassandra, couldn’t help but be surprised.

Everything had happened incredibly fast.

Even Camellia, who had been teleported to the waiting room, couldn’t help but marvel. How could someone be able to fight so incredibly well? Atlas wasn’t even an aura-master yet. It was unbelievable.

When Cordelia and the other Sages suddenly rose from their seats, it was clear that it was time for the awards ceremony to begin.

Atlas was in the first place, Camellya was in second place, and a magma user named Arthur was in third place.

Arthur, who was in third place, had received a Guardian Diamond as a reward that could help his development.

Camellya, who was in second place, was constantly looking at Atlas. She was still in a dazed state. However, with Cordelia’s words, she was able to shift her focus to her prize.

Camellya had received a Thoroughbred Phoenix Tear as a prize. This was one of the few items that could minimise the incredible mana pressure on Camellya’s body as she formed her eighth magic ring.

Not only that, but it would also smooth the flow of Camellya’s magic heart, which was already making oppressive and lethal attacks.

It was certainly a priceless prize. Indeed it was.

Atlas, on the other hand, was not given a reward. That was because Atlas had refused it. After all, Cordelia was his personal teacher, so he knew he could have as many Guardian Diamonds or Pureblood Phoenix Tears as he wanted at any time.

He was even sure that if Cordelia wouldn’t give them to him, Cassandra would give them to him instantly.

Which meant he could give the prize to someone else.

Nevertheless, Atlas had spoken these words in front of everyone:

"If possible, I would prefer to give low-level healing pills to each of the students at the academy. The future is unpredictable, after all."

He couldn’t imagine how much those words had elevated him in the eyes of the Sages.

With that, the two-day mid-term exam was over.

The city of Herria was full of nobles. Indeed, every corner, every high-quality and even medium-quality inn was filled with nobles.

The whole city was in a festive mood. Duke Bragholir had decided on such a thing.

After all, the longer the nobles stayed here, the more the city’s income would increase, which would make the already very rich Herrian family and the empire even richer.

Atlas was sitting in a room with all his friends, plus Aster and Camellia.

And of course, Aether and Aelia were in the room.

"I didn’t think you’d be this good, Atlas," Aether suddenly muttered. Atlas had to admit that it was an annoying sentence, but that didn’t stop an uncle from making fun of his only nephew.

For the first time in a while, Atlas had a few moments where he could relax.

It was clear why Aster and Camellya were here with him. It was time to talk. The twins seemed to have a lot to say.
