Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes-Chapter 124: To Continue
Chapter 124: To Continue
As Atlas looked at the twins, he honestly wished they were under his command as well. It was unlikely and not a good thing to have too many people under his command, but the twins in front of him were two people almost at the level of being eight-ring mages, two people with a potential that was truly beyond perfect.
Both of them were 21 years old and yet they were seven-ring mages.
Even among the professors of the academy, there were not many professors who had reached this level at this age, and this academy was an academy that hired people above the most excellent teachers. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
This made Atlas pray inwardly.
"I don’t know if you’ll agree, but my brother, I wish to leave him with you," Camellya said suddenly.
Atlas frowned and said gently, "Excuse me, Princess?"
"As you heard, Duke Shorekeeper. With your permission, I wish to leave my brother with you in the future. He doesn’t know how to fight very well, and he already plans to work as an assistant at the academy. Since I am the Crown Princess, there is no chance that he will ascend to the throne..." Camellya replied.
Immediately after that, Camellya bowed her head gently and then uttered the following words:
"My wish is to create a blessed empire. My father and mother have been trying for a long time to destroy the privileges between the races and create a common society, but their lives will not be enough. We are human beings like you. I want to take over what my parents did."
With those words, Camellya pinched her brother and Aster tilted his head slightly, as did she.
"I would like to use my brother as an ambassador between the Ducal House of the Epsilon Empire and the Bloom Imperial Family, if you, Duke Shorekeeper and His Majesty Aether will allow it."
Camellya finished her speech with these sentences and then silently waited for Atlas and Aether’s response.
Atlas was aware that he would not have a full say in the matter. That’s why he turned to Aether and started looking at him.
"If an envoy is staying in another kingdom or empire, there must be a right of inviolability and an agreement between the countries in a language of peace. It is possible, but you have to get permission from your family, Princess. This has to happen even if you are going to be the head of the empire in the future."
When Aether spoke these words after a short time, Camellia smiled and then said, "I have already obtained the permission of my family, Your Majesty. They wish my brother to grow stronger in battle, and they believe he can do so alongside the Duke Shorekeeper." Immediately after that, he smiled and said the following words:
"If this offer is accepted, the Bloom Empire will offer the Epsilon Empire an eternal alliance."
At Camellya’s words, Aether and his wife Aelia looked at each other with great surprise.
"Well...it can be done...if Atlas is willing. The Epsilon Empire doesn’t need firm agreements. So if the envoy himself is to be subordinate to Atlas, that decision is up to him," Aelia muttered.
Aether agreed with what her wife had said and waited for Atlas’ word.
Atlas scratched his chin and thought for a while. He didn’t know what to say.
"I’ll be away from the academy for a long time from the third or fourth month of next year. I have somewhere to be. If you don’t see a problem with that, I don’t think it will be a problem for me."
Aether and Aelia were surprised when he suddenly said those words. Of course, it was natural for them to be surprised. Students studying within the academy could not leave the academy until their studies were over.
"What’s going on, Atlas? Is there something you need to share with us?" Aelia questioned with concern. She left her husband’s side and sat next to Atlas and held his hand.
Atlas coughed a little when he heard this question and then said, "I have to go to the Kingdom of Akairon."
Upon hearing these words, Aelia immediately hugged Atlas and said, "I won’t allow it. It is too dangerous."
Atlas didn’t even know what to say. Of course, he knew that Aelia and Aether were worried about him. How could he not know?
"I’ve already discussed it with Lady Cordelia and a few of the Sages," Atlas said gently, returning his aunt’s hug and patting her gently on the back.
"Still, we can’t allow it. Even if you don’t have the right to final judgment as a Duke right now, you have the rank. There is a very real possibility that you could be in danger," Aether grumbled, his face lined with concern.
Not only Aether and Aelia but even Camellya and Aster, whom he had just met, were worried.
"Sir Duke. You may not know this, but the Kingdom of Akairon is a far cry from the peaceful empire we currently live in. It is impossible to even count the number of people who die every day. Even I don’t want you to leave, even if I have no say over you," Camellya complained.
Atlas felt a strange sense of nostalgia. He had heard these conversations a while ago with Camellya, Cassandra, Bellatrix and Juliet.
"Will you all calm down? The Sages have decided that I can go only if I don’t go alone, reach the fifth magic ring and reach the third-level aura. I still have a year, almost. I’ll be safe," Atlas muttered.
Aelia wouldn’t let him go.
"Auntie. Please calm down. You’re talking like I’m dead. I have to go look for someone..." Atlas complained.
"I won’t let you." Aelia said again and then added, "Does your sister know about this?"
Atlas finally couldn’t stand it and said, "My sister doesn’t know. And the reason I’m doing this is because I saw a prophecy, okay? A prophecy shown by the gods, I have to go, I really have to."
As soon as Aelis heard those words, she stopped hugging Atlas tightly and questioned, "Gods?"
"They’re obsessed with me. I don’t know why, but I honestly don’t even know how many gods I’ve rejected so far. There could be hundreds. Yet the dreams I have, those scenarios, tell me to go somewhere. This place is Ulier, the capital of the Kingdom of Akairon." replied Atlas.
No one knew what to say after Atlas’ words. However, Aelia’s worried expression began to grow even more.
"Atlas. We call you our nephew, even though you are the brother of the woman who is our sister and not her son. This is only because we consider you our son and since we are the Imperial family we can not call you our son. Even if it is strange to call you nephew, that is our wish, and therefore you might understand our deep love for you." Aether said.
Atlas was about to turn round and thank Aether from the bottom of his heart when he heard something he had never heard before in his life, not even in this one:
"My precious child..." said Aelia suddenly, taking Atlas gently by the cheeks and placing his forehead against hers.
"You are only fifteen years old. Don’t forget that. Even if the whole world burns, your safety is the most important thing to me," Aelia added.
At these words, Atlas’s throat seemed to be knotted. He really couldn’t say anything. It was even possible to see tears in his eyes.
The words spoken one after the other by Aether and Aelia, from whom he had looked in the opposite direction in his previous life, were shattering his heart.
Atlas could once again see what a shitty person he was. He had left Aelia and Aether alone until the end of their lives, until they met a painful death, having lost their children and even their sister Eva.
Now he was surrounded by their love.
Atlas’ vocal cords vibrated, but no words could come out of his mouth. As the tears in his eyes slowly streamed down his face, for the first time since his life had begun again, he was crying not with longing, but with all his emotions.
He nodded his head gently, as if he understood, and then hugged Aelia tightly, this time of his own volition.
By the time everyone had come to him, Atlas was embarrassed. His emotions must have overwhelmed him, he hadn’t expected to cry.
"Well...This was awkward," Atlas muttered.
However, he coughed a little and said, "I’m going to take care of myself and I’m not going to fight someone for no reason. All I’m going to do is find someone and bring them with me."
Aelia nodded her head as if she understood and then said, "Then there is no way to oppose you. You and Eva really are exactly alike. An able and a younger brother, both mavericks."
Atlas smiled and then turned to Aster and said, "Then welcome to the group. Under my command are Elise Fang, Co-Leader of the Student Committee, Irene Luis, heiress of the House of Luis Marquess, Lucia, Lisa and Lyra Leonardi, daughters of the Vampire Duke Sullivan, and River Bijoux of the Bijoux Elf Royal Family."
Immediately after that, he added, "In addition, Emma Crocs and other mages from the mage guild from the first imperial knight group led by my sister Eva will start working as knights of my Duchy House."
After that, he extended his hand towards Aster and said, "I hope I can at least teach you something while you are with me." and fell silent.
Aster stood up shook Atlas’ hand and said, "I’ll do my best. Sir Duke.
"Call me Atlas," he said as he smiled at Aster.
With these words, the subject was closed.
Half-year exams were over, half of the academy year was over, Atlas had gained a huge reputation, and now nothing was stopping him from meditating for a year.
Even he no longer knew what the devil worshippers and angel worshippers were doing. The future had changed a lot. Still, there was one thing he knew.
He might have wanted to stop being a hero. He might not care about anything except his family and those he cared about. Still, the history books of the future would be full of his heroism. And everyone would call him by a name:
Atlas Shorekeeper, The Eternal Flames of Epsilon.
