Chapter 34: Devil Worshipper (1)

Atlas could see all the eyes that were watching him. Including the students he had rescued, perhaps more than two hundred students were gathered in the empty space.

He was holding the Scared Swordman’s Holy Sword in his arms and trying to calm himself down by looking around at his surroundings.

There were no demons or angel worshippers that he saw. It was a good thing the group was safe. At least that’s what he thought.

After almost an hour, it seemed that the whole class had finally gathered. A huge group of almost three hundred people had gathered, and when Atlas saw that nothing was wrong, he went to the front of the group and waited for the professor to arrive.

After a short time, the professor joined the class. Still, something was wrong. Atlas’ eyes saw that there was someone else with the professor. It was a person he knew very well and at the same time, a person he considered to be killed.

This person was one of the people who came to the academy to become an assistant professor. This was the easiest way to enter the Hero Academy as a lecturer.

After a long test process, these people were assigned as assistant professors to other professors according to the branches they were trying to learn. In this way, it would be possible for them to become a professor of the academy in the future.

This person was a young woman with dark hair and a rather stoic expression. She really looked like a mage with an average body size and perhaps four or five magic rings. She was not someone Atlas could defeat, at least not in her current form.

He could hardly remember the woman’s name, but Atlas had never forgotten the face of any known devil or angel worshipper, each and every one of them standing in that huge palace in his mind.

"Greetings, students. Each of you has passed your tests. Each of you has been ranked on that test grid, and there are students among you who have earned some really good grades. However, grades and potential are not everything; it is possible to become an excellent wizard with a lot of hard work, even if it is difficult." the professor suddenly said and continued his speech by pointing to the students at the front of the queue:

"Many students, especially Atlas, are highly ranked in the eyes of the academy. We are here to make each and every student shine, whether they have potential or not. In this case, it falls on me to say the following words," the professor added and then pointed to the empty space with a small cough:

"Welcome to the Hero Academy Globe. My name is Percy Allen, and I will be one of your professors until I graduate from this academy. I am one of the rare ones who has an aptitude for each element, and I have already received a little training from the lady Cordelia herself. It is my duty to ensure your safety and give you the best teaching. What we are going to do today is duel training."

When Professor Percy uttered these words, he had brought all the students to the empty area that could accommodate almost two thousand people.

At that moment, a small amount of magic power flowed from Percy’s hand and after a short time, a huge arena was formed around the group of three hundred people.

With that, Percy raised his hand, and this time, a much larger amount of magic power began to spread around. As he did so, some runes formed perhaps five metres above the group, and Atlas smiled.

"Spirit Magic," Atlas thought. It was an excellent form of training.

When Percy released his mana, many spirits came out of the runes that formed. These spirits of different colours and shapes were nothing but elemental spirits.

These spirits, which had a bond with their owners, could transfer their experiences to their owners, which made it possible for Percy to examine each student in great detail.

Percy was just like Atlas remembered him. Percy was perhaps one of the friendliest and, seriously, one of the best people in the academy. He donated to temples and churches regardless of the god, often provided food for the homeless, and treated all races equally.

He was a person who fit the definition of a perfect human being. He was even praised by the dwarf emperor himself.

"My honourable spirit guards will support you. Everyone will split into pairs and duel. Except for you, Atlas, your power is far beyond the students here; you will duel with the young lady next to me." Percy suddenly said.

Atlas smiled and nodded his head and said, "Yes, professor."

After all these words, the groups began to take formation and the duels began to take place in the areas with the expansion spell formed in the arena.

Atlas entered the area to confront the assistant professor. He unsheathed his sword and then took a position to withstand a sudden attack.

The rules of the duel were very specific. The duelists would take an attacking position and then state their names, along with a promise not to make any mistakes in the duel, and then, after ten seconds had passed, the duel would begin.

"Atlas, I swear to behave in accordance with the rules of the duel," Atlas suddenly said.

After that, the assistant professor entered the field and stood in front of Atlas.

"My name is Amber Lynn, I swear to behave in accordance with the rules of the duel," said the assistant professor. However, the assistant professor, who introduced himself as Amber, immediately reached for his staff in his robe.

Atlas smiled, and then he was already forming a plan in his mind. If this name was the woman’s real name. Atlas had already won this duel and even managed to reveal that this woman was a devil worshipper.

Now only the duel was left to begin.
