Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes-Chapter 46: It Was Going To Happen Anyways
Chapter 46: It Was Going To Happen Anyways
"Even if what you are trying to do is a good thing, beating a student so severely that he is on his deathbed and threatening all the students in the academy on top of that is not very ethical. Am I right?"
Atlas rolled his eyes at Cordelia’s words, then smiled and replied, "I don’t think it harms us to do what I believe is right."
At that moment, the sound of a fist suddenly slamming down on the table rang out: frёewebηovel.cѳm
"PAT!"
Immediately after, the professor that Atlas wanted to hunt stood up and shouted, "You almost killed someone, you brat!"
The silence that followed was broken by Atlas’ voice:
"So was he."
Atlas stood up as he spoke.
"Professor, I ask you, what will become of these students if each of you, including Lady Cordelia, sits on your arse all day?" Atlas suddenly asked.
The professor stepped closer to Atlas and shouted, "Is your little head having a hard time absorbing information or what?!" Then, raising his voice further, he added, "He’s a first-year student, and he’s trying to tell us how to do our jobs! What a brat!"
Atlas twisted his lips upon hearing these words and then began to speak:
"Do you know the crimes of the young man I just beat the crap out of?"
As he asked this question, silence fell over the office again. Everyone—from the student committee to the professors and even the gods and goddesses—was listening intently.
"In his first year, he raped a second-year half-elf. In his second year, he defrauded students outside of school and caused many who were already living in poverty to be unable to afford food at the academy for an entire year. When he reached his third year, two more rape cases came to light. Toward the end of that year, he began harassing the naive elf girl I rescued from him, along with two of his friends who are princesses by the way."
"So I wonder why none of you tried to find the thins that had happened till now?" he added.
"We didn’t even know such a thing existed..." Dumgrith said abruptly and then put his hand to his head and added with an angry expression, "The penalty for these offences is execution in the empire."
Atlas suddenly rolled his eyes and then said, ’That’s what happened. Most students like me are aware of it. Only some princesses and princes, in short, [important] students, live without knowing about such things. Isn’t one of the people who should be supervising the students here?’
As Atlas finished speaking, he walked over to the professor and asked, "And I wonder... How was he able to suppress all these crimes?"
All eyes in the room turned to the professor.
"Don’t you think I know how many devil worshippers are in this academy? How many are selling illegal slaves and dealing drugs? Heck! I even know how many are killing people and scattering their bodies across the country as if they own it!" Atlas pursed his lips, his nose scrunching.
"What does this have to do with me, exactly?" The professor narrowed his eyes. "Are you trying to call me a traitor?"
Atlas shook his head in a way that wasn’t quite a denial. "Perhaps? Who could stop news from spreading if not those in power, especially if that person is the one who is practically supervising literally the whole school? They’ll continue unless I make them stop. The academy is the only reason that the youth you claim I nearly killed is still alive."
His voice grew darker. "I hope you realize that, professor."
The professor’s expression changed at those words. Atlas suddenly realised that something bad was about to happen and looked back at Cordelia and smiled at Dumgrith.
Before anyone could react, a wave of mana, unexpected and forceful, spread through the room. Like a mirage, Cordelia faded before anyone had time to respond.
Presumably, she had been trapped in a teleportation spell without realizing it. The sheer speed of it all meant that even a mage like Cordelia couldn’t comprehend what was happening in time.
A shield of magic had formed around the professor and Atlas.
By then, everyone had already realized exactly what had happened.
"Was it that obvious?" the professor questioned, the angry expression on his face and his changing body revealing everything.
"That’s the question I would ask if I hadn’t been able to hide it for almost twenty years. You’re really very annoying," the professor added.
The professor was only an eighth-grade wizard, strong enough to crush Atlas with his bare hands. Yet his biggest mistake was sending only Cordelia away. It was unbelievable that he was foolish enough to ignore the presence of Dumgrith, Abraham, and the other three great wizards.
"CRASH!!!"
The mana shield that had formed around Atlas and the professor suddenly shattered into pieces. Dumgrith’s expression showed exhaustion, the devastation of betrayal, and the enormous anger he now possessed.
"How dare you betray us you piece of shit!" screamed Dumgrith with his enormous anger growing rapidly.
The old elf lunged forward and grabbed the professor by the throat as magma poured from his hands. But not everything was going to go as Atlas had expected.
The professor’s body began to glow red and expand.
Atlas ran over to Abraham and said, "Professor Abraham, you might want to create a mana shield."
Even before Atlas spoke, Abraham had already conjured the most powerful mana shield he could.
Five seconds later, the professor’s body swelled up, and then the expected event occurred:
"BOOOOM!!!"
An incredibly oppressive, heavy, and almost nauseating wave of mana spread throughout the room. This mana was dark and malevolent. Atlas could see blood-filled memories entering his mind.
It felt like a strange illusion spell.
When the effects of the explosion faded and the smoke and bloodstains disappeared, everyone in the office seemed to come to their senses.
Atlas emerged from behind Abraham, where he had been hiding, and walked to the site of the explosion. There, he found a flower on the floor—a red, man-made flower that looked as if it had been crafted from blood.
Atlas bent down, gritted his teeth, and clenched his fists. He knew that with this, he had the right to wipe the academy clean.
He just had to wait for Cordelia’s return.
