Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes-Chapter 60: To Raid!
Chapter 60: To Raid!
Including Atlas, a total of 50 people had travelled as discreetly as possible. It had been almost three hours since they left the academy. To tell the truth, it didn’t seem like they were travelling very stealthily.
At the head of every street, the soldiers of Herria City were paying their respects to the people passing by.
The people themselves were aware of the troubled atmosphere. Even though it was the coldest city in the Empire, every day all the markets, bakeries, hardware stores, tailors, cafes, and so on were open, and the people were out on the streets both for their own business and for fun.
Now it was as if everyone was locked in their homes by force. On the street, which had been cleared of the snow that had fallen every day, only Atlas’s footsteps and the footsteps of those who came after him were rising in turn.
"THUD!!!"
"THUD!!!"
"THUD!!!"
However, the sound of the soldiers advancing from the other streets could be heard by everyone.
The remaining huge army of the city of Herria was marching towards the eastern wing of the city, where the warrior dwarf duke and his family were on the raid, leaving a sentry on the street behind them.
A huge army of almost ten thousand people was going to raid a huge market that could fit perhaps three hundred thousand people.
This was going to be a battle on a massive scale.
It was the Empire’s largest illegal trading centre after the capital.
Of course, it was understandable why Emperor Aether had not raided it until now.
The devil worshippers had hidden their activities so well, despite the presence of imperial spies inside, that there was no reason for the empire to raid it. The fact that black markets, which were already underground centres, reduced the crime rate in the empire, rather than increasing it, made everything in favour of the empire.
After all, what happened underground stayed there. Even that place had its own rules.
After only an hour, Atlas and his pursuers had finally made it to the eastern wing of the city.
Atlas had come directly to Bhagholir Herria, the great warrior Duke of the Duchy of Herria and a Sixth-Grade aura master.
"My lord," Atlas said respectfully and bowed his head.
Bhagholir extended his hand to Atlas and then said, "Until recently, I was in the capital, inside the Golden Palace. The Empire will never forget your contributions, young man. If this raid is successful, you may do whatever you wish in my city."
Atlas accepted the honour and shook Bhagholir’s hand, then began to explain the plan:
"The east wing is the entrance to the black market. It has exactly sixteen entrances. We’ve already told the entrance guards what to do, so all that’s left now is for the armies to begin their raid. The mages with six magic rings will remain at the head of the armies, and seven magic rings are gonna stay still and be sure everyone is safe. Sixth-Grade magicians can detect bad karma, so they’ll be the ones to find the devil worshippers."
After his words, he looked at the huge army gathered around him, and with great hope, he began to shout: novelbuddy.cσ๓
"This is an important raid, soldiers! The small army led by my sister has cleared 67 cities, 396 villages, and every single wasteland. We have to clear this city with an army of more than ten thousand. I trust you all and pray that you all live. Victory will be for the Empire!"
After his words, the sounds of cheering and the call to war began to rise from the eastern side of the city.
Atlas turned to the warrior dwarf duke and his warrior consort and their children and said, "Please be safe, sir." and began to watch as one by one everyone passed through the gates.
Then he looked at his small troop and said, "Begin. No devil worshipper you see will live anymore, remember that. No prisoners, no beheadings, this is a time to be ruthless."
As soon as the troops heard Atlas, they stood at attention and began to march after saluting him directly.
"You three, don’t leave my side for a second, I don’t want you to die, even if you are stronger than me," Atlas said suddenly. Of course, he was saying these words to none other than the triplet sisters.
With that, the quartet started walking towards one of the sixteen gates, and Atlas took out the holy sword from his inventory at that moment.
They had to be prepared for what they would encounter as they passed through the gates.
The quartet made their way towards the wall in the large field they had entered and passed through the passage under the respectful gaze of the black market gate attendant who was looking towards them.
At that moment, unlike Atlas, the triplet sisters encountered an apocalypse they had never seen.
"AAARRGHHKK!!!"
Blood-filled screams.
"SIXTEEN WOUNDED ON THE RIGHT SIDE!!!"
People are calling for help.
"THEY’RE NORTH!!!"
People are trying to warn the others.
One after the other, the shouts and many more managed to pin the triplet sisters to the ground, where they were officially stunned.
Atlas, on the other hand, immediately grabbed them, shook them and brought them to themselves.
"Don’t be afraid to kill girls, this is not a playground, don’t stop."
As soon as the trio nodded, Atlas turned to his unit and said, "We’re going to break through the northern flank, follow me, don’t hesitate a step. If one of you gets hurt, if one of you dies, I swear to you that I will take care of your family for the rest of my life."
After hearing these words, the troops could only be filled with the will to fight. Each of them was aware of the rank that Atlas currently held. If Atlas had wanted to, he could have just thrown them into the middle of the battle and used them as meat shields, but they had chosen to utter those words.
"Someone worth following!" they couldn’t help thinking.
With that, Atlas and the 49 followers, followed him marched straight through the centre of the battlefield.
The raid, the bloodshed, and the battle had begun in earnest.
