Chapter 365: Chapter 352: Rescuing the Twin Girls

Hanover.

A large group of zombies is fiercely attacking a barricade made of cars, dirt, and stones.

Among the regular zombies are some smaller mutants, including sprinting zombies and spitters.

The survivors are still struggling to hold on, but it’s clear they’re gradually becoming overwhelmed.

One warrior after another is injured or killed.

Those humans caught and dragged down from the wall by zombies are torn to pieces by them.

And the only thing their friends can do for them is to shoot their heads, sparing them from pain.

A mountain of corpses has already piled up beneath the barricade, and it’s still growing.

In a few more minutes, the bodies will reach the top of the wall, and then the defenders will fall, and the entire camp will be overrun.

"I’m tired, sister," said a red-haired girl wearing a blood-stained dress.

She had just hacked off a zombie’s head, almost dropping her sword.

"Me too, sister," replied the other red-haired girl, who looked identical to the first.

The only obvious difference between them was the position of the bloodstains on their dresses.

When zombies infiltrated the city and chaos ensued, this set of twins managed to arm themselves and survive.

They ran towards the lake on the city’s eastern side, joining a group of survivors moving in the same direction, but eventually, they were all trapped in this elementary school.

Now they’re surrounded by zombies, with nearly no hope of rescue.

"Ahhh!"

One of the girls screamed.

She was momentarily distracted, and a Second Level strongman zombie leaped up from the barricade below and seized her.

Its powerful fingers tightly squeezed the girl’s slender neck, lifting its prey into the air, ready to feast on her tender flesh.

"Sister!" shouted the other twin.

She rushed over to save her sister, but the creature managed to swat the slender red-haired girl aside effortlessly, her weapon flying out of her hands.

A swarm of zombies had already climbed over the wall and were now running towards her, smelling the scent of fresh prey.

"I... I’m sorry..." the girl gasped, preparing to meet her end.

But...then five laser beams pierced the monster’s head, causing it to crash to the ground. Its hands were shattered before it fell.

"Is it you?!" the red-haired girl exclaimed.

She couldn’t believe her eyes.

She had already bid farewell to life, knowing death was just a step away, but...then all the zombies suddenly died.

Lin Yi activated his Combat Reflex Skills, shooting down a dozen zombies within seconds.

"I told you I would come back," Lin Yi said with a grin, holding the girl in his arms.

"Everything’s alright now, I will protect you."

Upon hearing these encouraging words, the red-haired girl burst into tears.

She was so frightened...

Lin Yi waved his hand, and hundreds of soldiers in stunning sci-fi-style armor, wielding weapons, appeared out of thin air.

But that’s not all!

Then emerged gigantic warriors in strange armor made of steel, leather, and bone, followed by real knights, and finally dozens of men and women with milky white skin, holding flaming swords.

The warriors took their positions.

They pushed the defenders aside.

The survivors didn’t complain as they had no desire to argue with this fearsome army of strangers.

"Tell me about the current situation," Lin Yi said, looking at the red-haired twins, who were holding each other and crying.

One of the girls nodded. Both wiped away their tears and stood straight.

"Two days ago, zombies arrived in the city, completely surrounding it.

They overwhelmed the defenders and invaded the city.

The government gathered all the soldiers and tried to break out, using everyone else as bait to stay behind.

No one knows if they succeeded, but people heard sounds of fighting near the bridge on the west side."

"Alas, they probably took all the valuable things, but...I doubt they ran far.

Now take me to meet the person in charge here."

"Alright." The girls nodded, still holding hands, and then walked towards the elementary school.

The survivors were also delighted to be rescued.

Inside the school, on the rooftops, in the surrounding buildings, on the streets, everywhere were people.

There are thousands, maybe tens of thousands, packed like sardines, all glad to see their saviors.

They watched these strangers hacking and shooting zombies exceeding their wildest imaginations in number.

An AP-4 rifle could pierce zombie bodies as if firing through gel. One shot was enough to incapacitate or kill an entire group of walking dead.

When the survivors saw the red-haired twin warriors leading a man dressed in some strange armor, they sent a delegation to meet him.

The delegation consisted of five people: a middle-aged woman and four men.

Among them, two men were Professionals dressed in Second Level and Third Level armor, one was a tall, slender man in a business suit, and the last was a boy looking about seventeen.

"Hello, whoever you are, thank you for saving us," said the man in the suit.

"I mainly came to save these two girls," Lin Yi said, pointing at the twins.

He exaggerated the facts a bit.

"I don’t know what to do with all of you, but I don’t want to see you being torn to pieces by zombies."

"If you save my people and my property, I will surely reward you well," said the man in the suit, with a business-like smile.

"Bastard!" the teenager snorted, looking at the man in the suit.

"Shut up, brat!" the man shouted.

"Why don’t you make me shut up, freak!"

"Quiet!"

Lin Yi looked at the two quarreling people and spoke in a deep voice.

"Any property saved by my people belongs to me. If you don’t like it, swallow your dissatisfaction.

I can take you all away, but that means I will be your King, Lord, and God.

You will work for me, serve my interests, whether you like it or not, you have to do what I say.

If you don’t like my conditions, then go back to your hideout and never come out again.

Pass my words along.

But there’s one condition: I don’t take in Plunderers, robbers, murderers, rapists, or any scum.

I have a person who can read minds. If they find any bastard among you, they will take care of them on the spot.

That’s it, you have half an hour, then my people and I will leave the same way we came."

Lin Yi and the girls walked to a roadblock, leaving the survivors to discuss these matters.

Afterwards, Lin Yi conjured a table, a few chairs, food, and water out of thin air.

"Continue reporting."

He said as he sat down at the table, the twin sisters exchanged glances and nodded.

"The man in the suit is the market owner and owns a third of the shops in the city. He’s cunning and likes little girls. He has a good relationship with the city leaders," said the girl on the right.

"The boy arguing with him is Rudy, we don’t know his last name. He’s the leader of the homeless kids in Hanover.

He’s saved many children from Otto. Without him, many kids would have starved to death. He’s impulsive but smart," said the girl on the left.

"He’s an 11th Level Professional, and there are 311 kids in his group," the girl on the right added.

"The woman is Mary, she manages half of the city’s brothels. She’s ruthless and powerful, and she has a rare skill.

We don’t know what that skill is, but everyone fears her.

The other two are Wolf and Shake. They’re leaders of a robbery gang.

They like to drink and visit brothels. They’re the main force protecting our survivor group," said the red-haired girl on the left.

"We don’t know how many from each squad survived, but before the Zombie invasion, each squad had 60 Warriors and about 200 support personnel.

We don’t know their Levels, but at least half are Level 10," added the red-haired girl on the right.

"There’s also a survivor who’s a man, he looks like the leader of the northern district.

He always acts alone and never lets anyone see his face. We’re not entirely sure it’s him..." the girl said, glancing at her sister.

"Is there anything else?" Lin Yi asked with a satisfied expression.

The two girls were very observant and had good memories.

"About two hundred survivors can still fight, and there are a hundred wounded."

"You two are pretty impressive, what Level are you?" Lin Yi noticed how quickly and agilely the two girls moved.

"Level 7, with Second Level Combat Reflex," one of the red-haired girls answered.

"Both of you?" Lin Yi asked in surprise, but both girls nodded.

"Did you gain that Skill when you joined?"

The two girls nodded again.

"Anyway, you’ve done well. Have something to eat," Lin Yi said with a smile.

The girls’ obedience made him pleased.

They were the perfect subordinates!

Unfortunately, there’s no way to clone them...

The girls happily began to eat.

There was a pot of meat stew, salad, mashed potatoes, and meat pies, and the girls devoured them, tears of happiness streaming down.

Meanwhile, the Shelter’s Warriors gradually expanded the safe zone around the primary school.

Zombies were scattered all over the city, far less organized than during their attack, making them easy to handle.

The "Celestial Eye" system reported the positions of enemies, survivors, and more.

The Warriors looted without hesitation as they cleared the city.

However, they were not allowed to stray too far from the school, and Zombies wouldn’t let them go too far either.

Many Zombies gathered towards the sounds of battle.

Most of the Shelter’s forces were in the recovery center, and the Knights’ equipment needed urgent repairs.

Thus, currently, only about a tenth of the army could be deployed in battle.

Once the safe zone was cleared and expanded, they summoned engineers to set up steel walls and reinforce defense positions.

"Time’s up, boss," Melanie reported. She had been observing the survivors’ leaders and kept Lin Yi updated on the situation.

That suit-wearing guy, Lin Yi could tell at a glance that he was a despicable person, and now he was causing a lot of trouble.

He was stirring people up, promising them a bright future with him, boasting how amazing he was, to get people on his side.

The other three leaders were trying hard to stop him, so for most of the past half-hour, both sides were cursing each other.

"Call Raya and Terma," Lin Yi said, grabbing a rifle from the warehouse.

He walked towards the school, firing a few shots at Zombies along the way.

Soon, a giant Beastman wearing Fourth Level Armor caught up with him, alongside the floating Solar Priestess Raya in her Third Level Magic Armor.

Now everyone just called her "Raya," but her callsign was "Laser Priestess."

Her Light Magic looked just like a laser, hitting not only Zombies but also three soldiers while shooting.
