Apocalypse: I Build A Doomsday Train-Chapter 1119 - 428: Abandoned Base (Part 2)
"Forget the deep water floating port, let’s try the two shore passages." Lin Xian said.
"There’s that monster in this passage. Should we try entering from the mountain entrance over there?" Ning Jing suggested.
Lin Xian and KIKI analyzed the blueprints, discovering the entrance facility was highly advanced, though this secret submarine port seemed aged. Since the Federation Government was established, major national secret armed forces rallied under the Dragon Country’s leadership, spawning the interstellar army in this context.
"The tsunami relief channel and submarine base are integrated, designed for tidal diversion and extreme situations. If Abnormal Bodies infiltrated this passage, the base might not be safe." Lin Xian frowned. He usually avoided night actions because even a minor marking can be perilous. Yet, surrounded now, that Giant Ocean God likely lurks nearby, knowing the Descent Faction targets them, he can’t just sit still.
Moreover, that Hawk Sea Group’s Ryan mentioned a Taboo Item possibly affecting the Galan underwater volcano. It seems related to that escaped middle-aged person, an unknown Lin Xian feels must be resolved.
"Don’t rush. Moving in the dark is inconvenient. Although the island’s small, it’s certainly not benign. Vio isn’t here, but I’ll send a robot over, scanning Spirit Vibration Values at the route points for safety."
KIKI nodded, "Agreed."
Lin Xian raised a hand, the Black Star Forge shimmered as a ACT Mecha, akin to Qian Suxun, emerged. Lin Xian used it to experiment with neural interaction systems for Super Large Mecha adaptation, incorporating remote capabilities surpassing many flying drones. With no better options, he employed it for Vio’s remote exploration.
Lin Xian assigned control to KIKI, she swiftly took over, designing route points. Soon, on the nightfall tower, a keen humanoid Mecha accompanied by reconnaissance drones descended swiftly from the high building into the woods, startling many Zombies escaping from the prison, causing a chorus of howls in the night.
Meanwhile, Lin Xian began reconstructing the information chain towards the main island with drones. Despite turbulent waves, drones risk damage by surges or Abnormal Bodies, but they can be recreated, and the Abnormal Bodies can’t pinpoint his location. The priority is to contact Infinity to ensure the base’s safety.
The tower loomed silently, the squad communicated via Power Armor’s light screen, energy traces faintly glowed outside the armor. The surroundings remained deadly quiet. Yet, in darkness, the team remains experienced. The open spaces’ shadows are perilous, even C-level or D-level Abnormal Bodies are troublesome in such conditions.
In KIKI’s operation screen, she’s fully integrated with the ACT Mecha, accelerating along a winding mountain road to the northwest foot of Li Island and Li Mountain. The screen reveals an abandoned military checkpoint in night vision. The ACT Mecha proceeded through barriers to a massive mountain bunker-like entrance.
This was a massive blast door, KIKI approached, unlocking the side panel’s terminal cover, revealing an aged access panel.
"Seems unused for a long time..."
KIKI murmured, controlling the ACT robot to connect the terminal, commencing electrical unlocking. The rusty door emitted circuit sounds, "The door’s open." KIKI’s voice echoed in the communication channel, tinged with tense excitement.
The ACT robot stood before the giant blast door, emergency circuits newly activated, emitting a low hum. Rusted hinges slowly rotated, the side door grinding open to reveal a deep passage. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Soon, the side door slowly opened, revealing a vast space.
"Lots of junk piled up inside, untouched for decades. The outer door shows forced damage signs, likely survivors did it, yet they couldn’t breach the blast door..."
Lin Xian stood in the tower’s shadow, observing the real-time video from KIKI’s ACT robot through the Power Armor’s light screen. The robot’s night vision transformed the dark into cold gray-green images, as if the world was under a deathly filter.
"Air quality check—low oxygen, high humidity, trace hydrogen sulfide." KIKI reported swiftly: "This place’s sealed too long, possibly containing water or corrosive gases."
Lin Xian scrutinized the simultaneous screen, muttering, "Odd, could I be wrong? No signs of passage on the main path, could they indeed use the relief channel?"
The ACT robot stepped in, metal feet touching dusty ground with a faint rustle, the passage’s emergency lights failed, only the robot’s spotlight illuminated the way. The beam swept across, dust wafted in the air, resembling invisible ghosts wandering the darkness.
