Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 132: A month later
Chapter 132: A month later
When Elena finally woke up, she felt a little bit groggy.
But as soon as she glanced at her watch, she quickly jumped out of bed, freshened up, and hurried off to look for the kids.
’Why didn’t Ethan wake me up?’
Little Mia and Koby were having fun when they spotted Elena approaching.
They quickly ran up to her, playfully accusing her of being late.
"Sis Ewe, why are you waking up so wate today?" Little Mia asked, her eyes wide with surprise. "It’s almost noon! Morning exerwise time is over!"
"I’m sorry, Little Mia, I was just drained yesterday," Elena replied, embarrassed about her tardiness.
She was confused about why her body clock had failed her, so she promised to set an alarm next time.
"But did you continue your daily routine and run a few laps already?"
"Yes, Sis Ele," the kids replied.
"Alright, let’s begin the activity now. Poochi and Little Mia, you’re up first. The task is to escape from Poochi, the kidnapper."
"Aw~Aw~Aw," Poochi barked, nudging his nose against Elena’s belly. He sensed something was off with his mistress.
’Mistress, why are you weird today? There seems to be something wrong with your belly.’
Elena, unaware that Poochi had already sensed something different about her, continued instructing the kids.
"Alright, Poochi, get ready now. Little Mia, you can start running."
"Aw~aw~aw," Poochi barked excitedly, eager to complete the task.
’Here I go!’
Soon, the area was filled with children happily exercising and engaging in simple activities to help them adapt to the apocalypse.
Laughter and cheerful shouts echoed as they jumped, stretched, and played together.
"Alright, that’s it for today! Let’s go wash up at the Eastern Lake," Elena announced.
"Yay!" the kids cheered excitedly.
This had become their daily routine for the past few days, and soon, a month had passed since the start of the typhoon.
People had grown wary and distrustful of one another, and the constant brawling and fighting over supplies echoed through the corridors.
Cries and pleas could be heard from every building.
The virus remained persistent, claiming many lives and leaving numerous dead bodies floating in the water.
Medicine had become so rare that anyone who possessed it became a target, either for robbery or worse, being killed.
Meanwhile, the government had stopped sending rescue operations and distributing relief goods, forcing citizens to fend for themselves.
Overwhelmed by the ongoing disaster, they focused their efforts on the evacuation center.
Morality had become an afterthought; people were willing to do anything to secure supplies, even betraying their families or selling their bodies to the wealthy.
The once vibrant city had transformed into a vast body of water, and the most frightening aspect was the gradual erosion of law and order.

Today, Elena held a meeting to discuss forming an organization and to gather the opinions of others.
"So, you want to sell the goods from Paradise?" Grandpa Caldwell asked.
"Yes," Elena replied. "We produce more than we need, so it would be wasteful to keep the extras unused in Paradise."
"We plan to exchange the goods for jade, antiques, or valuable information," Ethan added.
"How are we supposed to do that?" Uncle Anthony asked, curious about their plan.
Elena then explained the organization she had been envisioning.
"First, we should sell discreetly, wearing masks or clothing that hides our true identities," she began. "Second, we need to sell the hoarded items first before moving on to the products produced in Paradise."
"Third, we should target people who still have their morals intact and avoid dealing with criminals. We need to sell responsibly," she emphasized. "And fourth, items like medicine must be sold with limitations to ensure that everyone has access."
Elena proposed a comprehensive list of dos and don’ts to help them understand the rules for selling the supplies effectively.
"What about the pricing?" Ramon asked.
"Elena has already explained the plan to me," Butler Aki replied. "I will prepare a list of prices for each item soon. Basically, the more valuable the item, the more jade or antiques will be required for exchange."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Afterward, Elena allowed them freedom to trade, provided they adhered to her rules and acted in their best interests.
She wasn’t concerned about being cheated, for the Golden Tablet could restrain them if necessary. It wasn’t a matter of trust; she simply wanted to take precautions.
"Lastly, all items taken should be recorded by Butler Aki," she instructed.
Once again, everyone nodded in understanding.
Ethan then added, "Let’s run a test around the area to see if it works. But first, it’s time to clean up this building."
For the past few days, screams and cries for help have echoed through the corridors, but the robbers are so skilled that by the time Ethan and the others arrive, the looting is already done, making it difficult to identify the culprits.
They were puzzled as to why the robbers had yet to target their floor.
While it was fortunate that they hadn’t been robbed, Ethan sensed that the thieves were taking their time, gathering information about them.
Sooner or later, they would become the next target, so he proposed ending the robbers’ reign before they could act against them.
"But they are being way too cautious. Should we hide and capture one to interrogate?" Uncle Anthony questioned, his brow furrowed in concern.
"I think some residents might be their accomplices, which is why it’s so hard to locate them. They’re probably hiding around the residents’ units after they’ve finished robbing. Alright, let’s start tonight and hide in a secluded area. Wait for them and strike when they least expect it," Ethan instructed.
Everyone agreed to the plan.
After discussing the creation of the organization and the robbers rampaging through the building, everyone shared updates about their work inside the space.
Paradise had become abundant with resources—meat, fruits, vegetables, and other materials.
And tomorrow, Grandpa Ford will harvest a bunch of ripe fruits from the fruit farming section, which excites everyone, especially the kids.
"I will help Gwandpa, yippee!" Little Mia exclaimed.
"Aw~aw~aw," Poochi barked, eager to join.
Grandpa Ford smiled and replied, "Alright, you can all join tomorrow. Remember to wake up early, okay?"
Everyone listened to each individual’s updates, and afterward, they went their separate ways to carry out their tasks in the space or prepare for tonight’s agenda.
