Chapter 293: Strange Ability(2)

Watching his tension ease, Elena couldn’t help but tease him, leaning in to kiss his cheek.

"You know, our sons really look like you."

"I know," Ethan replied helplessly. "Grandpa tells me that almost every day."

It had gotten to the point where he stood in front of the mirror with the babies, carefully comparing their faces to his own, and to see exactly what his grandpa meant.

Elena chuckled, glancing back and forth between Baby Max and Ethan.

The resemblance was uncanny. As it turned out, she had ended up with a miniature Ethan—not just one, but three.

"Wife, I have something to tell you."

"Hmm... What is it? Max, stop staring at Mommy; it’s time to sleep now," Elena said, lulling him gently.

"Is there any chance that someone with an ability can control large-scale animals?"

"Yes. I once met a Tier 6 control-type ability. It single-handedly controlled all the mutated animals below its tier on a large scale."

Ethan gulped and continued, "How about a tierless baby? Have you ever heard of one that can control large-scale animals?"

"What do you mean? One of our babies can do that?" Elena asked, looking at him with concern.

"Yes, but I haven’t confirmed it yet. It seems Finn used it once after he was born—he controlled almost all the animals in the community zoo."

"What...? First of all, Tamer abilities or animal control abilities don’t work at full scale the moment they awaken. Every ability develops step by step—unless some strange device or power accelerates it. Otherwise, no."

Elena quickly looked at her second son. "It might not be an animal control ability."

"You know, the moment I laid eyes on him, I could feel his emotions directly. Somehow, I know when he’s happy and when he’s annoyed. It’s as if his feelings are laid out before me. I don’t need to guess—it just clicks. Meanwhile, it’s very different from the eldest and youngest, where I have to infer what they’re thinking."

Ethan nodded in agreement. "Yes. At times, I also feel that Finn likes me very much. I don’t understand why, but I just know it."

She sighed softly. "Finn... might have a mind-manipulation ability. Probably a strong type mental ability." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

She then remembered the infamous madman, Daniel, who could control lives effortlessly and kill anyone who annoyed him.

But his ability came with a side effect: he sometimes lost control, and his mind would turn him into a madman.

The only individuals capable of restraining him were she and Ethan.

"You remember what I told you about Daniel—that he would become our good friend in the near future and a trusted subordinate? Well, his ability is actually quite rare and dangerous, especially as he tiers up, and it’s the same type as Finn’s. The only difference is that our son can manipulate almost anything, at least from what I’ve deduced, while Daniel can only manipulate humans."

"Daniel had that ability? You did tell me about his future—that’s why you spared him from experiencing that heartache and saved his sister, Lucy, during the tsunami in City C," Ethan said, remembering.

He had been quite worried about that kid. After he woke up, he couldn’t use his ability and assumed he had merely been unconscious, not yet awakened.

Now, Ethan finally understood: his power wasn’t flashy elemental magic—it was a mental type ability.

"Well, I did tell you a simplified version of why he became a madman in the future. It was partly due to his experiences—his sister died, he wandered alone witnessing the world’s cruelty, and he was bullied for a long time. But there’s a deeper reason: the side effects of his ability after he lost his sanity turned him into a madman."

"You mean every time he uses his ability, he accumulates a side effect? What about Finn—does that mean he could have the same side effect?"

"No... we can defer that side effect as long as we don’t overwork him or let our son lose his sanity, like what happened to Daniel in our past life. As long as he is trained properly, I believe everything will be fine. The key is that Finn must not experience mental shock."

"I understand," Ethan said, glancing at his second son with worry.

"Now tell me about the eldest. I’m sure he has an ability too, right?" Elena said confidently, certain that if the younger two had awakened, Leo wouldn’t be any different.

The only question was—what kind of ability?

"Leo seems to be able to control elements... or even the weather," Ethan replied, uncertainty lacing his voice.

At one point, when he tried to bathe him, the water had suddenly surged upward and splashed straight into his face—as if Leo were deliberately playing a prank on him.

"Weather?" Elena repeated, stunned.

In her past life, no one had been able to control the weather alone. If such a thing existed, it usually required cooperation between multiple high-tier ability users.

"Yes," Ethan continued. "Right after he was born, he caused chaos in Paradise. Rain poured into our house out of nowhere, and violent winds swept through like a sudden hurricane. It all happened when he was hungry and couldn’t control his emotions."

He paused, then added, "There were also moments when the temperature inside the house would suddenly turn warm or cold. You already set the space’s temperature to remain neutral and balanced—but the eldest seems able to manipulate weather and temperature within it."

Elena was left speechless as she listened to everything her eldest had done while she was unconscious.

The triplets’ abilities had entirely defied the usual rules and logic of powers.

She then looked at Leo with a warm gaze, then turned to Finn with gentle affection. When she noticed Max had already fallen asleep, she carefully placed him beside Finn, making sure he was comfortable.

"We must make sure no one learns the truth about their abilities," Elena said seriously.

"Think about it. The eldest can alter weather and temperature, the second can influence and manipulate living beings—turning an area into a safe zone—and the youngest can transform desolation into a paradise filled with spiritual energy."

Her expression hardened. "If others find out what our sons can do, people will start having dangerous thoughts about them."

As she calmly analyzed their abilities, Elena remained unaware that, somewhere far away, the Heather clan had already begun deducing a future where such powers could reshape nature itself.

Fortunately, they had not yet identified the triplets—or them. But only time would tell.
