Chapter 46 - 46 The Wrong Place to Wake

In a dimly lit room, the figure of a slender girl lay unconscious on a large master bed. Her long black hair spread across the pillow. She wore a casual grey shirt that seemed larger for her frame, the remaining part of her lay hidden underneath the cover.

Her eyelids fluttered before opening. The smell of a strong fragrance invaded her nostrils, the distinct scent of a man.

Her hand unconsciously slipped to her side, searching for something, but it found none. Then she instinctively reached into her pocket, but there was nothing.

Her brows furrowed. She groaned, having sat up too quickly. Her vision was blurry. She knew something was supposed to be there, why couldn't she find anything.

Her chest heaved up and down in an unnatural way, her heart was beating too fast, and beads of cold sweat forming on her skin. Panic surged within her.

'Breathe Olivia, Breathe..' she chanted, as she tried to calm her racing heart down. Her sweaty hand clenched at the cover, ' Why can't I remember no matter how hard I try.' Tears dripped down her eyes, and she felt the air drying up from her chest like she was being pressured by a mountain. Her breathing turned into wheezing.

Everything turned black.

A couple of hours later, the room darkened as the sun went down. The bulb light dimmed faintly in the room.

Olivia yawned, her hands stretched out. She lazily got off the bed, with no memory of what had happened earlier.

Her brows furrowed as she looked around the room. She rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn't seeing things. Nothing changed.

" Where am I?" She murmured, her hand shakily dropped beside her.

The room was elegantly decorated. The walls were painted grey, with a black couch on the left side of the room. At the far corner of the room, a golden wooden table and chair stood. On top were piles of books.

She sighed, gently massaging her throbbing head with her fingers, and then it came crashing down on her, she was wearing a different outfit than she wore before passing out. Who had changed her clothes? Was it Alexa? Whose room is this? Different questions prowled at the back of her mind.

"This must be Alexa's room," she thought. The neat books, the elegant setup, it all screamed her style.

The cold chills from the dark brown wooden floor flooded through her body as her barefoot stepped on it. She gently browsed through the room.

A black box on top of the table got her attention, she knew she shouldn't touch other stuff but curiosity got the best of her. "I will just take a glance."

" This should be Alexa's, but what is inside?." She whispered as her hand shakily brushed over it. Cautiously glancing behind her shoulder, checking if anyone was coming.

Knowing she was alone, she turned her focus to the mysterious black box, her hands gently lifting its lid off, the substance in the box almost coming into view.

She halted midway. Someone had entered the room, and the smell of sweat and cologne invaded her nostrils, the scent was familiar. " Alexa, I know how it looks, I can explain," she said quickly, pushing it back.

" Okay, I have all day to listen." a hoarse cold voice resonated in the room.

Olivia turned at the speed of light. Her eyes widened in surprise, her heart hammered in her chest. " Kl... Klaus" the words came out almost inaudible.

A crook smile tugged at his lips as he casually rested on the wall, his hand in his pocket. His shirt clung to his chest as the scent of sweat thickened the air. " Yes," he answered in a lovely tone.

Olivia swallowed hard, her fingers twitching at her side. " Why are you here? This is a lady's room." she pushed the lump in her throat down, forcing her words out.

A sinister chuckle vibrated from his throat. He pulled himself from the wall, he walked towards her, forcing her to take a few steps back. "Lady's room? You mean this room?" he asked, his hand waving at the room, his eyes glinting.

Olivia felt the hair at the back of her neck, standing at its end. " Yes, and stop coming closer to me." she snapped at him. But he didn't listen, he took a step forward, which made Olivia instinctively take a step back, but only to crash into the cold wall.

She tried to escape, but his hand stopped her, trapping her. Olivia's fists clenched, her teeth gritting in anger, and some weird feeling that sent a jolt of electricity down her spine and her heart skittering in her chest.

" For your information, this is my room," he nonchalantly crossed his arms as he gauged her reaction. His eyes gleamed with amusement as he saw her eyes widen in shock.

Olivia felt the room tilted for a second. ' he owns the room?, then why am I here? My clothes... did this b**tard change my clothes.. no no that can't be true.' The thoughts clawed at the back of her mind.

" Why am I here then?" Her gaze darkened, disbelief lacing her words.

" Because I brought you here to recuperate, you suddenly fainted yesterday... I had to be a good boyfriend." he drawled, his voice mocking as his gaze burned through her.

" You brought me here?" She asked in disbelief. " Did you change my clothes?" Her heart stopped beating at the moment, her voice shaky and cold.

A chuckle resonated in his throat. "I'm your boyfriend, of course, I can do it and...." His words were interrupted as he quickly caught Olivia's hand that was aiming for his face.

Olivia's nose flared. " you son of a b**ch." she cussed as she swung her other hand, only to be countered by him easily. Klaus held her hand above her head. His head moved closer to hers.

" Feisty... that's how I like it." His warm breath brushed against her face, a smile curving on his lips.

Olivia's lips tugged into a smirk, and a malicious glint flickered through her eyes. Before the blink of an eye, she banged her head against his nose.

Thud.

Klaus groaned in pain. He didn't anticipate that move. His hand let go of hers, flying to his nose. Wet liquid seeped through his finger.

"Olivia you.... Huh!" He groaned again, as she kicked him between his legs. Klaus' eyes glinted with anger, revenge, and pain.

"Oh sh*t," he cussed as his knees buckled together, blood dripping from his nose onto the floor.

" That's what you get for thinking you can do whatever you want with me, b**tard." She snarled before dashing out of the door.
