Are You Crazy? You're Telling Me This Is a Fugitive TV Show?-Chapter 221: “I Can’t, I Can’t Lift Your Fat Grandson!”
Wang Yun’s actions at night had nearly driven everyone in the program headquarters to the brink of collapse. Meanwhile, he was leisurely enjoying barbecued food, basking in the night breeze. He was quite relaxed.
Most importantly, the mountaintop was so high that even mosquitoes couldn’t reach them.
“Sometimes I wonder how great it would be if we were all just ordinary, normal people,” Brother Hu sighed deeply. “We wouldn’t have to live in fear and on the run every day.”
His voice carried an inexplicable melancholy. Old Song also sighed softly.
“Actually, being able to follow the boss is already a blessing,” Old Song said. “Wanting to go back to the old days is nothing but a pipe dream. I only hope the days ahead won’t be so mediocre.”
“What do you mean by mediocre? Our identities are destined to be anything but ordinary,” Little Gang, lying beside Old Song, laughed and picked up the conversation.
“With such a beautiful night view, stop talking about sad things. Anyway, I don’t want to think about anything else. I just want to stay safely by the boss’s side,” Little Gng continued.
Wang Yun looked up, placing his hands under his head. Gazing at the beautiful yet slightly lonely moon, his heart was filled with endless emotions.
As soon as he opened his eyes, he found himself here, and then, inexplicably, he acquired a system. Thus began his endless flight. But everything has an end. Even a TV show must come to a close eventually.
Thinking of this, Wang Yun turned over. He really needed to ask the producer when this season of the show would end. Honestly, he really wanted to take a proper rest and find a bathhouse for a massage. Continuing like this, always dirty and hungry, was quite disheartening.
With these thoughts, everyone drifted into sleep. It was the best night’s sleep they had in a long time. They had avenged their grievances and reunited with their leader. Plus, under the moonlight, with a cool breeze blowing, they slept dreamlessly through the night.
The next day, at the first light of dawn, Brother Hu and the others woke to find Wang Yun missing.
Wang Yun had gone down the mountain to buy breakfast for everyone. It was strange. He was the boss, so such tasks should fall to his subordinates. And given his current precarious position, he should have stayed hidden.
But Wang Yun didn’t know why he felt compelled to do something for his team. At least he could provide breakfast.
Around the mountain was the suburb of Xiyun City.
Early in the morning, there were very few people around. Only some old neighborhoods had stalls selling breakfast. Wang Yun wore a baseball cap, changed his clothes, and donned a skin mask.
This was his last new mask. Brother Hu, Little Gang, and the others didn’t have any left.
The most pressing issue now was to quickly acquire the materials to make more masks. If he couldn’t manage that, he’d have to find a way to leave the city.
If he continued like this, sooner or later, the program inspectors would trap him.
“Young man, can you carry all of this?”
The elderly lady at the breakfast stall looked shocked as Wang Yun ordered over a hundred buns in one go, along with ten bowls of soup.
Brother Hu and his crew had hearty appetites. Wang Yun couldn’t provide much else, but at least he could make sure they were well-fed.
“I can manage. I may look thin, but it’s all muscle,” Wang Yun said in a low voice, smiling.
“Nowadays, young people are pampered. If they can’t even carry this much, it would be really embarrassing,” a woman next to the old lady chimed in.
She was sitting with a child drinking soy milk, clearly out with her grandson for breakfast.
“You can’t say that. Young people nowadays face a lot of pressure. Take my son, for example. He’s busy at work until ten o’clock at night,” the old man sitting opposite the aunt retorted. “They barely have time to eat, let alone exercise. It’s not like it was in our days.”
The aunt snorted coldly, “If that’s the case, it’s because your son is incompetent. Capable people don’t work such long hours. My son is very capable. He’s a bit older than this young man, has his own company now, and sleeps in until late morning. He just goes to the office for a bit and then comes back.”
As she spoke, her face was full of pride, which made the old man a bit displeased.
“Don’t you know the saying, ‘the more capable, the more work they do?’ Everyone’s job is different. My son is a doctor, saving lives. Can your son compare?”
“So what if he’s saving lives? He’s still exhausted all day for a small amount of money. If he wants to buy a house on his own, he’d need to start saving from the Qing Dynasty!”
The aunt’s voice was sharp, and her words were very harsh.
This attracted some disapproving looks from the people eating breakfast nearby, but she didn’t care at all.
“That’s why life is all about fate. Come on, baby, open your mouth and eat more. These soybeans in the soy milk are very fragrant,” the aunt said.
She scooped a spoonful of soybeans and fed them to her grandson. The little boy, holding a toy in his hand, played absentmindedly while opening his mouth.
The old man had almost finished eating. He wanted to say something but, out of his ingrained manners, he shook his head instead. Wang Yun quietly stood nearby, waiting for his breakfast.
This morning seemed exceptionally ordinary.
However, sometimes surprises come unexpectedly. Just as the old man was about to get up and leave, the aunt suddenly screamed.
“Baby, baby, what’s wrong with you! Don’t scare Grandma!”

The aunt dropped the bowl to the ground, and the toy in the grandson’s hand fell as well. The boy’s face turned red as he gasped for air, his body convulsing.
“He’s choking,” the old man exclaimed.
Although he wasn’t a doctor, he often heard his son talk about such things and immediately recognized the situation.
“What’s that? Soybeans! It’s soybeans! Baby, spit it out! Don’t scare Grandma! Why are you all just standing there? Call for help, call an ambulance!”
The aunt, who had been quite domineering, shouted loudly at those around her in panic. The onlookers, startled by the scene, quickly took out their phones.
“There’s no time. A child’s airway is small. He’ll suffocate before the ambulance arrives! Turn him upside down and pat his back to dislodge the object!”
The old man didn’t hold any grudges and immediately instructed the aunt. But her grandson was too heavy, weighing at least forty pounds. The boy was struggling in discomfort. It was impossible for the aunt to lift him.
“Young man, please help!”
The aunt looked towards Wang Yun, who was the youngest person at the stand.
Wang Yun had already noticed the boy’s reddening face earlier.
He looked at the aunt expressionlessly and said, “I can’t. I can only handle this breakfast. With my build, your grandson is too heavy. Ask your son who runs the company instead.”
As he spoke, Wang Yun didn’t really want to engage. However, he placed the buns he was holding on the table.
