Armed Train in the Apocalypse-Chapter 277 - 206: Shu Wei (Part 2)
If it weren't for the apocalypse, they would only catch a glimpse of each other in the news and on the internet, perhaps just a silhouette at some banquet.
Even if the apocalypse stripped away layer after layer of her aura, she remained the center of admiration at these elite banquets.
Although she was simply numbered as 426 in the special operations unit, with many present ranked higher, she was the deputy commander.
In front of Second Tier Zhao Kuo, they dared not utter a word, yet she dared to mock and criticize him.
Background is background, and even if she didn't use it, nobody dared pretend it didn't exist.
And such an unattainable woman actually bowed her head to a man.
With the humblest attitude, she begged for a chance to live.
The people vaguely understood something.
Perhaps this was the true apocalypse, where "the strong" under the old order could no longer exert absolute control over those below.
The age of money and power had passed.
The opportunities and strengths of the new era were the true determinants of everything.
"Who knows if you'll turn against me? Nowadays, even dogs can't be trusted, let alone people."
Su Huan bit her tongue, feeling slightly tempted.
As she said, the value of a noble itself far surpasses that of a mistress to a big shot.
Because the former is value itself.
426 hesitated for a moment and resolutely said, "I can't promise eternal loyalty, but as long as you remain strong, I will be your most loyal servant and sharpest sword."
"What if one day I lose my strength? What will you do then?"
Su Huan seemed to think of something amusing, her lips curling into a grin, but her eyes were icy cold, capable of forming frost.
The previous value determined her willingness to defect, and the upcoming answer was her test from the new boss.
Suddenly, a wave came crashing, and 426 stared directly at Su Huan.
Near vermillion, one becomes red; near ink, one becomes black. To blend with the madman, one must be even madder!
No longer suppressing the flames of ambition, letting them burn fiercely, filling her entire gaze.
"Today's humiliation will be repaid twice over!"
In an instant, silence fell all around.
The furious lightning bloomed like silver flowers, filling the entire water domain.
The people of Black Kite showed eyes full of despair.
Only 426 looked toward the calm water surface, which suddenly stirred with waves as the light crossed.
A huge shadow quickly submerged into deeper waters.
Su Huan, as if swatting away a fly, stared at 426 with blazing eyes, "Then engrave today's scene deeply in your mind, think of it day and night, but never show it before me, or I will crush you."
426 felt a momentary relief, knowing she had gambled correctly.
...
HT-426 entered car number 1, naturally accompanied by the combat group along with the other five from Black Kite.
Interrogation still had to be done.
What position they could achieve on an armed train depended on their contribution.
Through the portals on the deck into the second floor of car number 1, HT-426 quietly observed Su Huan's room.
After leaving the direct crisis behind, curiosity began to rise in the woman, having read numerous psychology books before the apocalypse to manage her company, she had gained insight into recognizing people through long-term practice.
Rooms are a reflection of one's inner world, whether messy or tidy, they reveal something—
Ah, a huge stuffed toy.
A massive calico cat stuffed toy sat beside the duplex bed on the second floor, its bright eyes gazing at the bed.
This might indicate Su Huan is someone lacking in security.
Her gaze scanned the small items and details inside the room.
Green printed coarse cloth sheets, a small night light shaped like a cat's paw, and in the display cabinet were not symbols of violence and power like guns or knives, but a collection of cute mugs.
She felt matters were not so simple.
As they went downstairs, she saw the enormous carpet printed with Su Huan's portrait in the living room.
Her gray-blue eyes were clouded with confusion.
How self-absorbed must one be to print their own portrait on the carpet?
Is it really satisfying to step on oneself?
Su Huan naturally noticed HT-426's gaze, but he didn't care; only three items in the room truly belonged to him: his carbon fiber long knife, his journal, and himself.
Even the electromagnetic sniper rifle was used by Yu Yue.
Everything in the room was arranged by Yu Yue, the conductor only cared about what to eat.
Lying on the sofa, he found the most comfortable position, "By the way, what company did you run before the apocalypse?"
"It was a brokerage firm with more than five hundred artists under it, including two leading girl groups and several top-tier singers. Besides those lost due to the apocalypse, most are in the Storm Zone where Black Kite resides, no matter their appearance or identity, I can find them for you."
Shu Wei quickly entered the role, having never been a secretary, but having worked with several top-tier secretaries, she naturally knew how a qualified secretary should perform.
Her eyes remained fixed on Su Huan's nose, neither wavering nor wandering.
Su Huan's gaze was odd, "You haven't done this kind of work before, have you? Even if your company still exists, would Black Kite release anyone?"
"Previously, there was order in place, plus my unique status meant no one could reach into my company. Besides the original company, I know many celebrity models, as well as women from non-leading enterprises, including female entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, noble ladies. If you're interested, I can have her appear in your bed; just state your preference in identity, and I'll select the best."
Shu Wei was as calm as discussing an ordinary task; even with wet hair dripping water, there was no visible change on her face.
Su Huan didn't respond, narrowing his eyes to appraise her.
Shu Wei's skin was a cool ivory under the light, radiating a faint porcelain glow, perhaps due to soaking in water, it bore a hint of cold cyan; in his impression, only Lin Xi had skin so white.
Her brows were steep and sharp, her nose high and straight, the junction of the nasal root and brow bone forming a striking shadow, giving the whole face a three-dimensional and proud look.
Yet everything was kept in check before him.
Shu Wei sensed Su Huan's gaze, seeming to understand something.
She patted herself a few times, removing the outer exoskeleton and then the waterproof tactical suit.
Su Huan's eyelids twitched, not expecting this little president—not, big president was so well-built.
The conductor's gaze slowly lowered from her favorite waist, tracing along the side of her abdomen, disappearing into the edges of cloth.
Her calves were scratched by something, red blood mingled with rainwater, falling to the floor.
Careful feet avoided the carpet, standing on the metal surface.
"Can you give me two minutes to prepare?"
Shu Wei asked.
Su Huan didn't respond; the woman took it as acquiescence, walking into the bathroom nearby.
The digital clock on the wall ticked slowly.
Forty seconds was all it took for the woman to finish rinsing.
One minute and thirty seconds, and she dried her hair with a blow dryer, stepping back out.
One minute and fifty seconds, in a brief survey of the first-floor desk, she pulled out a tissue and cleaned the blood on the floor.
Then she picked up a pencil.
When she kneeled before Su Huan, pinning her long hair with the pencil at the nape of her neck, exactly two minutes had passed.
The entire process unfolded fully in Su Huan's eyes, with no hint of embarrassment or shame, as if she embraced some kind of realization.
Though this wasn't Su Huan's intention, he was simply curious about how far this woman could go.
Shu Wei glanced up into Su Huan's ink-like eyes, a trace of resolve flashing by.
The opportunity might only come once.
...
Forty minutes later, Shu Wei swallowed hard, looking up.
Su Huan grinned, lifting the woman's well-defined chin with a finger, the icy president's face showing a faint touch of fatigue.
Yet she still forced herself to speak spiritedly, "Sorry, I'm not very skilled at this. I'll practice."
"You're over thirty, right?"
Seeing her slightly surprised gaze, Su Huan laughed maliciously, "If you make a mistake, there must be punishment, isn't that right?"
Shu Wei bit her lower lip, turning away.
"Yes."
