Arranged marriage to the princess of the Red Scorpions-Chapter 373 A Gun Out Of All Things?
Shit. Richard hadn't expected something of that magnitude. A scuffle at most. Disagreement regarding current events or so. But the princess actually pulled a gun on her boy? Damn it. Richard knew she would sometimes be reckless, but this took it to a completely different level.
"What do you think would be a reasonable response in that situation? With the world you live in, I'm sure you have been faced with that type of situation before." Richard pressed his lips tightly together. This conversation wasn't meant to be about him. The mafioso put the cigar back in his mouth as he leaned further back in his chair to answer or not.
"Samuel. Right now isn't the time to be asking me about such. I want to know more about what happened between you two. I heard the rumor regarding a scuffle with someone." The kid hardly seemed to pay attention to his words, though. Samuel's expression remained fixed on a blank spot on the wall as the faraway look in his eyes only grew. Maybe the hit had been a little too hard for someone not used to that type of thing.
"I thought after some time that she would be willing to talk it over with me, but Lena seems keen on stonewalling me instead. I understand that a lot is happening right now, but that's why I should be there with her and not over here." Samuel's nails dug into the arm of the chair, teething gritting as his eyes narrowed as though he had some internal battle.
"Sam. The princess hardly lets her own family be there for her. To let a stranger such as yourself get as close to her as you have been able to be something unheard of. I can't say that normal couples deal with this type of argument, but I'm sure there have been worse over the years in the history of the mafia." Those words sounded somewhat familiar to Samuel. Ah right. They'd come from Jovani.
"Don't you think that's even more reason for her not to do something of that nature with me? Had he imagined the other intimate interaction between the rooftop moments prior? Perhaps Lena never felt the same way about the situation as he did. I thought that we were starting to make some good progress."
"It is. How things should play out and what happens hardly ever aligns with this side of the world. After spending more time here, you'll realize that yourself. Especially when you take over being the boss." Richard's intended words of encouragement didn't hit Samuel as he hoped they would. Instead, the kid suddenly acted like he would stand up, but he never made it as far as his equilibrium failed to help him reach an upright position.
"Easy, kid. It would be best if you weren't thinking about trying to move too much right now. Retake this." Richard held out the cigar once more. Lena would probably murder him should she find out he'd gone about drugging her fiancé. Gun or no gun, Richard knew the princess's feelings wouldn't be so quick to change, or at least he put a large wager on the fact that they wouldn't.
"What exactly is in this?" Despite the hesitated slur of words, Samuel still took the cigar from the other as he sunk back into the chair. There was something a little too addictive about the item that made it hard to resist.
"Nothing dangerous. Just a little something extra that makes it easier to relax after a stressful. Well worth the extra money I pay for it." If not, Richard would've found a new vendor long ago. Richard stood up to grab the ashtray from across the room. He didn't care to monitor Samuel as the kid kept the cigar longer than he had the last two times. Google search free𝓌𝗲𝒃𝓃𝒐𝐯𝒆𝙡. 𝑐𝗼m
"You wouldn't have to worry about getting addicted to anything, no matter how much you use. One of the reasons I chose it out of the many available options." Richard continued to speak despite the kind seeming more focused on figuring out what the item in his mouth held that was so special versus listening to the mafioso.
"Here now, you should consider returning that to me now." Richard tried to take it from the other but a third unexpected hand appeared and snatched it up before the mafioso could get his hands on it.
"Now. This is certainly an interesting situation to walk in. Here I thought that perhaps we would get a chance to catch up but instead, I find you playing counselor. A complicated situation indeed." Richard's eyes narrowed, lips downturned as he watched the intruder put the cigar in his mouth with a smirk. Damn Cain, he knew that there was no way the mafioso would take the cigar back after it had been in his filthy mercenary mouth.
"I only heard a little bit of what was going on. Care to fill me in on the rest? Maybe there might be something I can help with." Cain leaned on the back of Samuel's chair, peering down at the kid, who didn't seem as though he quite understood what was going on.
"Out now. Cain, you have no right to be part of this conversation, and it hardly has anything to do with you." Richard barked harshly as he snapped his fingers. The mercenary didn't comply, however, as the only thing that shifted was the smirk growing on his face.
"Dicky. Samuel here and I know have gotten to know each other a little bit over the past day. Considering this is his problem, I do believe he has the right to tell me if he wants me out or not. Isn't that right?" Cain took a puff of the cigar before handing it back to Samuel. If Cain hadn't caught the kid smoking and tasted the cigar for himself, he wouldn't have believed what Richard was doing.
"Cain, are you sure that you want to push your luck with me after the day we've already been having?" The threat didn't go unnoticed as Cain's gaze lazily slide over to the mafioso. The Chesire cat smirk didn't waiver an inch as he simply shrugged his shoulders.
What was the worst Richard could do to him?
