Beast Hack: Customizing Beasts and Capturing Beauties-Chapter 263: Home Sweet Ruins
Lucius and the others had arrived at their apartment, only to stop when they saw the state of their apartment.
Their once tidy and secure residence was now partially collapsed. There were cracks all over the wall.
The top-floor area, which was her apartment before, had also caved in completely.
For a moment, none of them spoke.
Luna let out a low whistle. "Well... this is new."
Loreia’s eyebrow twitched as she could not believe it. "I’m gone for one meal, and we come back to this?"
She stepped forward, kicking a chunk of stone. "This is just great."
Liora, as usual, was still calm. She scanned the area to see if it was safe. "The damage is extensive. The structure is no longer safe."
Lucius rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "It’s impressive, in a way. Whoever did this must have been in a hurry."
Luna kicked a broken chair with her foot, watching as it toppled over. "You think someone wanted to send us a message?"
Loreia scoffed, arms folded. "If they did, they picked the wrong people to mess with."
Lucius stepped forward and smirked. "The collapse wasn’t natural. This was either intentional… or the result of something big happening."
Loreia took a deep breath and looked up. The moment she did, she was surprised.
She pointed her finger to the sky. "Wait. Look! Isn’t that Argentis?"
The group immediately turned upside and could see Argentis, who flew above the broken apartment.
Lucius raised his eyebrow, amused. "Well, that explains a few things."

Loreia’s brow furrowed. "Could it be... that someone tried to attack?"
Luna smirked. "That wouldn’t surprise me. But the real question is—who?"
Loreia crossed her arms. "Argentis is a lucky beast. If something happened, maybe the building collapsed because of him." Experience tales at novelbuddy
Lucius let out a short chuckle. "That sounds about right but still it was interesting."
Lucius immediately smirked. "If someone really attacks, then it seems we need to teach some lessons."
Luna grinned. "Oh? So we’re going hunting?"
Lucius smirked. "No, not hunting."
He cracked his knuckles. "We’re just reminding people why messing with us is a mistake."
Loreia grinned. "Now this... this sounds fun."
Liora simply nodded, already prepared for what was to come.
Lucius looked up at Argentis, then back at the wreckage of their apartment. "Let’s find out who thought they could step on us."

Vance and Investigators were now covered in dust and frustation as they were in the rubble.
Vance gritted his teeth and snapped. "What the hell happened?! How can the apartment suddenly collapse like this?!"
One of the investigators, who was still dazed from the fall, coughed. "We... we don’t know, sir."
Another investigator, rubbing his sore shoulder, spoke up. "We checked the building beforehand. It was well maintained. There were no signs of instability."
Vance was still frustated and snapped again. "Then how the hell did this happen?!"
The investigators exchanged nervous glances. They didn’t know how to answer.
One of them hesitated before speaking, "It... it might have been the dragon, sir."
Vance snapped his gaze toward him. "What?"
The investigator gulped under Vance’s glare but continued. "The only logical explanation is that the dragon’s evolution or movement triggered the collapse."
Another investigator checking on his injured colleagues frowned. "Some of us were injured, but no deaths."
Vance sighed and frowned. "Damn it."
He then looked upward, searching for Argentis. "That bastard dragon..."
He clenched his jaw. "You think you got lucky this time?"
He exhaled, rolling his neck before cracking his knuckles. "Just wait. I’ll make you into skewers."
The investigators shivered slightly after hearing what Vance had said
He wasn’t just angry. He was out for blood. And Argentis was now his target.
But just as Vance was about to act, he was stopped when he heard some footsteps.
Some people were walking toward them and he didn’t know who they were.
Vance turned around and saw four people. One man and three women.
Vance knew who they were, as he already looked at the picture of both Loreia and Lucius.
But from their aura alone, Vance knew that they weren’t ordinary people at all.
Loreia stepped forward first and looked at Vance coldly. "So you’re the ones who attacked our place, huh?"
Luna whistled slowly, placing her hand on her hip as she scanned their faces. "Oh, I recognize some of them."
She smirked as she gestured toward them. "Aren’t they the same people who were following that bastard back at the Beast Castle a few days ago?"
Vance frowned, but he didn’t respond immediately.
Lucius, on the other hand, grinned slightly as he turned toward Vance.
"I see. A group of men who thought that they worked under someone from a powerful family."
"Because of that, they were convinced they could do everything they wanted."
Lucius then shook his head before letting out a sigh. "Another young master type, huh? But it was his minions that is here."
Luna chuckled, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "Yeah, too bad. It’s just the extras today. No main villain in sight."
She glanced at the injured investigators still recovering and smirked. "If he were actually here, we could have given him a ’proper’ makeover."
Lucius grinned too as he rolled his shoulders lazily. "Of course. It’s become a rather common job for us, hasn’t it? Giving a bit of ’cosmetic improvement’ to stupid, arrogant young masters."
Luna sighed dramatically. "It’s almost like a public service at this point."
Liora also spoke. "It’s a waste of time dealing with them. We should just finish this quickly."
Lucius chuckled. "I suppose you’re right. But…"
He turned toward Vance, who had remained silent through their entire exchange.
Lucius only smirked as he tilted his head slightly. "You don’t seem too surprised by our words. Maybe you’ve realized your place already."
Vance clenched his fists as he didn’t know how to answer or act.
From their calm demeanor and their words, he knew that they were not ordinary people at all.
