Chapter 457: Weapon Of Another World

Charlotte drew the Flying Snow Sword. She prepared to use her forbidden skill, but suddenly, Sharky took her in his arms. She was stunned, thinking, What is he doing?

She didn’t suspect that he was using her as a shield; rather, she briefly thought he wanted to die together with her. However, when she saw that he was also carrying Alina and Diana, those feelings instantly vanished into thin air.

The Fiend Emperor suddenly appeared out of thin air. A giant golden hand imprint slammed down toward the group. If it hit, all of them would be instantly crushed into a bloody paste.

Just then, however, a loud sound rang out. A large cauldron projection suddenly appeared around them, blocking the attack.

"Nine Cauldron?" the Fiend Emperor exclaimed, quickly retreating when he saw it. His eyes were filled with fear.

Don’t tell me Karna isn’t dead yet? he thought. He released his divine will to sense his surroundings, but he didn’t detect Karna’s aura.

Furthermore, after the cauldron took the blow, it immediately cracked and scattered apart. He reacted quickly, saying,, "So it was just something you materialized with that mysterious ability of yours! Hahaha, not even the Nine Cauldron could stop me. What else will you bring out now?"

"Is that so?" Sharky replied, not wasting any more time on words. A burst of light flickered, and a black, barrel-like object suddenly appeared in his hands.

The part he was holding burned with a golden glow, its surface rippling like molten sunlight. The body was made up of several cylindrical tubes bound together by radiant rings, and the many holes in its front gave off a scorching, sacred aura.

"What is this?" the Fiend Emperor exclaimed, his eyes narrowing. He had never seen such a thing before in all of his years of dominating the world. It was completely unfamiliar to him.

The item in Sharky’s hands appeared to be a magic weapon, but it wasn’t deity or immortal-grade.

It wasn’t even heaven-grade, and yet the Fiend Emperor sensed a killing intent from it that exceeded many famous treasures — a heat that seemed capable of burning even souls.

It wasn’t just him. Even Charlotte and the other women’s eyes widened in surprise. They had fought together for so long, but they had never seen Sharky use the weapon.

A mysterious glint flickered in Sharky’s eyes. He slowly chanted, "O flame born of the Sun... awaken."

The golden ember that Karna had given him earlier floated out from his chest, merging into the weapon. The moment it did, a brilliant light erupted, and the entire hall trembled from the divine energy spreading outward.

The Fiend Emperor, Charlotte, and the others were a bit confused. They had never heard of Surya before. From the name alone, they could faintly sense it referred to some ancient deity of the sun, but none of them knew who or what that god truly was.

Sharky raised the weapon, golden light blazing in his eyes. "The gift of the Son of the Sun," he said quietly.

Flames burst from the weapon’s barrels with a roar like thunder, golden fire sweeping across the hall and devouring the darkness.

The Fiend Emperor gritted his teeth, his demonic aura twisting violently as he tried to resist. Even Charlotte and the others had to retreat as the sacred heat spread, shaking the entire palace.

Sharky’s main limitation was that he had never witnessed the great Battle of Kurukshetra and did not know what weapons were used there, so he couldn’t fully unleash the Sun Fire’s true power.

But thinking about it, he had seen many other weapons in his own world.

The problem was that he came from a world of science and technology, while this was a world of cultivation. He wasn’t sure whether he could successfully materialize anything from his memories here.

And yet, he gave it a try anyway — and it actually worked.

Soon, a golden projectile, the Surya Astra, materialized in front of him.

Sharky immediately felt a surge of confidence, his back straightening as he held the radiant weapon. "Fiend Emperor, you were acting pretty smug a moment ago..."

When he heard the provocative tone in Sharky’s voice, the Fiend Emperor’s face darkened. He replied coldly, "Do you really think that glowing stick of light is enough to defeat me?"

"Stick of light?" Sharky repeated with a strange expression. "Then you should have a taste of this light."

He didn’t say anything more and activated the weapon. The muzzle flared, releasing a burst of golden fire. Countless radiant bolts shot forth with an ear-piercing roar, each one trailing a tail of sunlight.

The Fiend Emperor felt disdain at first, but in the next instant, his expression changed completely.

What is being fired from it? Arrows? No, they’re smaller, like shards of pure sunfire! Each one carries sword intent strong enough to tear through spirit barriers!

He didn’t dare to take them head-on. His demonic aura flared as he vanished in a blur, using his movement skill to evade.

Unfortunately, the Surya Astra’s strongest point was that it could cover a wide area. The golden fire sprayed outward, saturating the space between them far better than the ten or so heaven-grade weapons Sharky had previously summoned.

No matter how much the Fiend Emperor dodged, there was always some flame he couldn’t avoid. Helpless to do anything else, he could only summon his golden demonic wings. The feathers turned into countless blades of condensed sword ki, coming together to block the surging fire.

Sharky sighed in amazement. The Fiend Emperor really was formidable. Even the Surya Astra’s continuous blasts of divine flame couldn’t land a single clean hit.

However, Charlotte and the others were even more shocked than he was. The Fiend Emperor being strong made sense, and the golden sword ki was indeed formidable—but that was only in terms of defense.

And yet, Sharky was the one suppressing the Fiend Emperor right now! If word of this spread, it would leave the entire cultivation world speechless.

Furthermore, the strange weapon in Sharky’s hands radiated horrific destructive power. It looked as if entire armies could be wiped out by its light unless they formed powerful defensive arrays in advance.

The Fiend Emperor was beginning to regret his decision. He had wanted to test his opponent’s weapon, which was why he hadn’t immediately cut through space to escape.

Now, however, it was already too late. Though teleportation required only an instant, the weapon’s firing interval was even shorter.

Each and every burst of Sunfire carried terrifying power. Of course, it wouldn’t be lethal against those who were truly strong. After all, a single casual strike from such cultivators could destroy a mountain. In comparison, these flames were still lacking in that regard.

However, the fire was simply too concentrated! The Fiend Emperor could endure a hundred strikes, but the Surya Astra unleashed several thousand blasts in a single breath! If he relaxed even slightly, his body would be riddled with searing holes.

Compared to their vast offensive methods, the defenses of cultivators were notably weaker. Normally, that wasn’t much of an issue — they had many ways to evade or shield themselves. None of them would be foolish enough to take such attacks directly.

But how could the Fiend Emperor have anticipated a weapon that released such an overwhelming stream of divine fire? He could only defend passively.

The golden sword energy formed from his feathers was far stronger than a single Sunfire bolt, yet the difference in number and frequency left him at a disadvantage. Each blade of his could only deflect a few flames at a time, and under that endless barrage, even he began to suffer losses.

If Sharky’s power were limitless, then even though the Fiend Emperor’s cultivation was far superior, he would eventually fall to exhaustion. But the Fiend Emperor didn’t panic. He refused to believe a weapon of such might could last forever.

Sure enough, after some time, the radiant tubes of the Surya Astra began to glow red from the heat. Then, with a thunderous crack, it exploded apart.

The blast of divine light shook the hall, yet Sharky’s body withstood it easily. The heat and shockwave couldn’t harm him.

He let out a regretful sigh. The materialized Sunfire construct was far less durable than the real celestial weapon — it shouldn’t have been destroyed so quickly. But even as he thought that, a wave of dizziness washed over him.

He frowned in surprise. I was only channeling energy just now... so why does my body feel empty?

A chill ran through him. So that’s it. The Sun Fire didn’t create the weapon without a price. It’s burning through my ki to sustain the weapon.

Fortunately, Sharky possessed several divine arts that replenished his energy rapidly. A normal master-ranked cultivator might have already been drained dry after creating those heaven-grade weapons, and then the Surya Astra on top of that.

A figure suddenly appeared by Sharky’s side. The Fiend Emperor was clearly unwilling to give him another chance.

Charlotte, Diana, and Alina harrumphed. They had been watching Sharky, and knew he was probably at his weakest. They all rushed forth to protect him.

The Empress Lantern appeared. The Crescent Ring followed, drawing a crescent moon-shaped arc in midair, but it didn’t take the initiative to attack.

Instead, it quietly released moonlight that, when paired with the Empress Lantern, could grant it even greater restrictive power.

Alina’s eyes shone with the highest-grade amber light. Now that she had the Holy Pearl and Dragonsnake’s Nine Transformations, the Medusa’s Eye no longer put her body on the brink of collapse whenever she used it.

Charlotte’s entire body flickered with brilliant runes. Then, she charged forward, wrapped in a blizzard of wind and snow.

After experiencing several life and death situations together, their teamwork had become excellent.

The surface of the Fiend Emperor’s body began to petrify. Together with the Empress Lantern and the moonlight’s radiance, his movements became considerably slower than before.

Charlotte’s explosive attack soon followed. Even though the Fiend Emperor’s cultivation was much higher than theirs, due to their excellent cooperation, his full-power attack didn’t work as he intended.

Of course, the three women were sent flying by the terrifying energy. The ki and blood within their bodies surged powerfully. Stopping a second attack would be impossible.

Fortunately, Sharky had already caught his breath. He pulled the three women back.

The Fiend Emperor sneered, calling out, "Do you all think you can escape?" He knew none of them were faster than him alone, let alone when all four were moving together.

The next second, however, his eyes almost popped out of their sockets. With a wave of Sharky’s hand, a golden war chariot suddenly appeared in front of him. He and the three women boarded, and it quickly flew through the air.

"Isn’t that our Golden Crow race’s Golden War Chariot?" the Fiend Emperor wondered. In that instant, he began to question life.

Because he was nearing the end of his life, he had already given both the Golden War Chariot and the Gandiva Bow to his son.

Is it possible that my son let his war chariot get stolen by Sharky, but he didn’t dare to tell me?

However, he quickly shook his head. The carriage did look like the Golden Crow race’s war chariot, but upon closer inspection, it was different.

The Golden War Chariot he had was pulled by six young dragons, while this war chariot had six fully mature dragons. It seemed to be at an even higher grade.

The chariot Sharky had materialized was actually the one he had seen Surya using. Its grade was naturally a bit higher than the Fiend Emperor’s, so it was fast enough to prevent the Fiend Emperor from immediately catching up.

He thought, Now that the Fiend Emperor feels some apprehension, the Surya Astra might not be able to injure him a second time.

Should I give him a taste of the Trident missile’s express delivery then?
