[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 122: Admiring Him In Silence
That night, Julian woke up at 11:20 p.m. because he had fallen asleep while putting Luna to bed. He checked his phone and saw that Arcane had sent him a message two hours ago.
"If I reply now, he’ll probably already be asleep. I’d better just send him a photo," he muttered, then lay back down and took a selfie of himself with Luna, who was asleep while hugging her rabbit doll.
With a smile on his face, he sent the photo to his husband with the caption: "My little angel is fast asleep."
Just a few seconds after he sent the photo, he received a reply from Arcane.
[HUSBAND♡]
She looks cuter than you. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Julian frowned when he read the message. What did he mean by saying Luna looked cuter than him?
[JULIAN]
What do you mean by that? I admit Luna is much cuter than me. But I’m still cute too!
[HUSBAND♡]
Yes, you’re still cute in my eyes. Besides, why should you be jealous of your own child?
[JULIAN]
I’m not jealous!
Arcane, who was still awake at that moment, smiled as he replied to his husband’s cute message when he trying to teasing him. He could imagine Julian’s face right now, pouting because of his words.
The man then turned around, looking at the sleeping child. His warm gaze instantly turned cold, slowly getting up from the bed and moving away from him.
When morning came, Kyle woke up and turned to his side, only to find that Arcane was no longer there. It turned out that the man had woken up earlier, even before everyone else.
Once again, he felt so disappointed, because the night had passed without anything really happening between the two of them. But for now, he didn’t really want to think about it and got out of bed.
"Where is he?" he asked, looking around the room, then finding Arcane standing alone on the balcony holding a cup of coffee.
He stared at him for quite a while, watching the red haired man stare straight at the still dark sky. The smoke rising from his cup added to the morning atmosphere as he saw someone he liked standing in front of him.
This was the first time he had seen Arcane as the first person he saw after waking up.
’He looks so handsome. Even his smile is so gentle as he looks at the view outside. Just looking at him makes me feel very calm,’ he thought at that moment.
Slowly, he walked toward the door and pushed it aside. Noticing the open door, Arcane turned and found Kyle looking at him at that moment.
"Oh, you’re awake? How was your sleep?" Arcane asked, though it was just small talk.
"I slept very soundly. How about you? You woke up very early." Kyle asked him back.
Arcane replied that he also slept quite soundly last night, even though he only slept for a short while and did so on the sofa, not in bed. He only pretended to say that so Kyle wouldn’t ask any more questions.
He didn’t feel comfortable being too close to other people. That’s why he chose to sit on the sofa and sleep there.
"It’s still 6:00 a.m. There are still 30 minutes before breakfast time. You’d better go take a shower before we continue with our morning activities. You remember that we have to go hill climbing today, right?"
Kyle nodded his head. He remembered very well that today was the day they were scheduled to hike the hill together. He hoped he wouldn’t look too weak when doing it, because he wasn’t used to doing such strenuous activities.
One by one, the other teachers woke up, got ready for breakfast, and followed the schedule set by the committee.
That morning, they gathered all the students and instructed them to stay in their respective groups. Arcane directed his group of 20 people to stay on the path and not go anywhere without his knowledge.
"If you feel like you need to use the restroom or take a break, you must tell me first and not leave the line without my knowledge. Do you understand?" he asked.
"We understand!" they replied in unison.
He nodded in satisfaction and led his group to walk behind the previous group. While climbing, the teachers stood behind their students to ensure that no one was left behind.
Seeing that his group was close to Arcane’s group, Kyle took this opportunity to stand near the man on the pretext of watching his group, which was indeed walking side by side with Arcane’s.
"It turns out that the view near the hill is already very good, let alone at the top. The air is also like that, right?" he asked.
"Yes, the air here is very far from the city. It’s obviously fresher than other places," replied Arcane.
They continued climbing the not too high hill, some of the female students laughing and joking with each other to relieve their fatigue and enjoy the view.
Occasionally, they would sit down to rest, drink some water, and then continue their journey.
Halfway up the hill, Kyle felt exhausted because he was really not used to going that far.
"Mr. Bernard? Are you okay? You look so tired." One of the teachers approached him because she was worried seeing Kyle sweating so much. Especially seeing how heavily he was breathing, as if he had run out of breath at that moment.
"I’m fine! Just a little tired. We’ll reach the top soon, right?"
The teacher nodded. "Yes. We’ll reach the top of this hill soon. But if you feel tired, we can stop to rest for a moment. I’ll stay here with you until you feel better."
However, Kyle refused because he felt uncomfortable and embarrassed to have to stop when they hadn’t rested for long.
"I’m fine. Besides, we’ll be there soon, so I can rest when we reach the top."
Hearing this, the teacher could only nod her head, and they continued their journey until they finally reached the top of the hill.
He glanced at Arcane, but he wasn’t looking at him or offering to hold his hand.
’What did I expect? He must be tired too. Why did I expect him to help me?’ he thought.
The students were amazed by the view from the top of the hill, which was so beautiful and extraordinary. There were many wildflowers, but they were so beautiful there, with shady trees and a clear blue sky.
Even though the sky was clear, the sun didn’t feel so hot. In fact, it felt cooler. The place was really perfect for taking pictures or having a picnic.
"Everyone, you are free to take any pictures you want as long as you don’t go too far!"
