[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 62: Date On Christmas Eve
Finally, school holidays have arrived, and as Christmas approaches, people are getting busy with preparations. Several restaurants and cafes are busy with numerous reservations for Christmas day.
Some supermarkets have also put up Christmas decorations and are selling items related to the holiday.
This did not escape Julian’s attention, who was very excited to decorate the Christmas tree. He bought some Christmas decorations and decorated a tree that Arcane had ordered.
"I’ve never decorated a Christmas tree before. I was too busy with other things and I didn’t think decorating a Christmas tree was that important," said Arcane, who had previously lived alone.
He felt that Christmas was just like any other holiday, nothing special because after that he would go back to his usual activities. He had no family, no gifts, and no one to celebrate Christmas with.
But this time was different. He had Julian, who was excited about this event and even asked to buy a Christmas tree so they could decorate it together.
With great enthusiasm, the green haired man decorated the large Christmas tree placed in the corner of their living room. Arcane helped attach the small lights that would make the tree even more beautiful.
"For Christmas Eve, how about we go to the city park? There’s usually a giant Christmas tree that’s decorated for the Christmas event."
Arcane wanted to spend time alone with Julian, not just at home but also outside. Going on a date on Christmas Eve would definitely be very sweet.
Julian, who heard this, immediately agreed, because he was curious about the Christmas tree. He didn’t want to miss the opportunity, especially if he was going with him.
They made plans to go to the city park after dinner. Afterwards, they could spend time in the city park while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Two days later, as they had planned, they left the house after dinner on Christmas Eve. Arcane made sure Julian wore his scarf, because he didn’t want his husband to be cold.
"Do you think there will be many food stores open? Eating something warm would feel really good in a situation like this," said Julian.
"I’m sure there will be some food stores open. But aren’t you full? You just finished dinner and now you want to eat something else?" Arcane asked him in return.
His husband could only chuckle, because he was caught still eyeing other foods. He reasoned that dinner and dessert already had their own place in his stomach. And there was still enough room in his stomach for sweet foods.
Arcane could only shake his head, flicking Julian’s forehead because his reasoning sounded like that of a child.
Holding hands, they went to the city park, which was not far from Arcane’s house. They deliberately did not go by car because the roads would definitely be very slippery.
"It must be very crowded there. Everyone must be excited to celebrate Christmas Eve!"
"Yes, of course. It only happens once a year. Although I’m confused as to why we have to celebrate this."
As they had expected, there were many people gathered in the city park with their families and partners to see the giant Christmas tree.
The tree was so tall and so big that it was almost the same size as the nearby buildings. The lights decorating it were so bright that they almost illuminated the entire park.
In the park, Julian also saw a man dressed as Santa Claus taking pictures with the little children around him.
"Those children are so sweet. They are so innocent, believing that Santa will definitely come to give gifts to good children. But of course, it’s their parents who give them those gifts," said Julian. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"You’re right. Because of course Santa isn’t real. They’re just fictional characters to make children behave so that Santa will love them," replied Arcane, who was also watching the children excitedly meet the man dressed as Santa.
As they approached the giant tree, Julian was amazed because he had never seen a tree that big even though he lived not far from the forest in the mountains.
While admiring the huge tree, Arcane pulled his hand towards the lake in the city park. Because it was winter, the lake was frozen and used as a place for people to ice skate.
"Do you want to try skating there? While waiting for midnight, we can go play," said Arcane.
"But I don’t know how to do it! I’ve never ice skated before." Julian answered that way because his parents had never allowed him to ice skate.
They argued that it was very dangerous, especially since they had seen Marshal’s broken hand from ice skating when they were children.
"You’re an adult now. Besides, I’m with you. I’ll teach you how to do it," said his husband.
Intrigued and curious, Julian followed Arcane to try ice skating. They rented ice skates, and Arcane entered the area first and watched Julian go to the middle of the frozen lake.
"Don’t let go of my hand! I really don’t know how to do this," said Julian, feeling a little scared. He continued to hold onto Arcane’s hands, balancing himself.
"Take it slow. No need to panic, just take a few steps. Then follow what I do."
Trusting Arcane, Julian followed how the man walked on the frozen ice. His hands continued to grip Arcane’s hands tightly, worried that he would fall.
However, Arcane slowly let go of Julian’s hands so that the man could slide towards him.
"Don’t panic. Just focus on your balance, and I’m sure you can do it," he said softly but firmly.
It was as if he was treating him like his students at school.
Following his advice, Julian slowly regained his balance and glided toward him. A smile spread across his sweet face, as he finally managed to do it without falling.
Even without Arcane guiding him, Julian could glide from the center of the lake to the shore.
"I can do it! Arcane, look at me, I can really ice skate!" he exclaimed happily.
Unfortunately, he hadn’t learned how to stop yet, and that’s what kept him skating without being able to stop. That made Julian panic, and he turned to Arcane as if asking for help.
Realizing this, Arcane immediately skated towards Julian.
"Lean your feet, or stop by crossing them!"
But Julian was too panicked to hear what he was saying, made worse by the appearance of a little girl in front of him who looked confused.
Julian’s eyes widened, worried he would hit the girl.
"Move! Move out of the way!" he shouted.
The girl turned to look at him, looking confused and also surprised as she stared at Julian who continued to slide quickly towards her.
"Huh?"
